Weekend Roundup

Twix Cookies!! Here they are!

These were a tad more work than I expected, and the chocolate isn’t my best work because of my shoulder/arm. But Wizard has officially approved them and is already nagging me to make them for the next family event. I really liked them!

The rest of my weekend was work and a few small life glitches :-)  I’m back in the writing cave working on edits. Oh wait, I’m really excited that I’m switching from high-speed **cough cough** DSL to a much faster cable internet this Tuesday. I really need this transition to go smoothly as I’m recording a Podcast with Romance Between the Pages on Friday (click on the link to check podcasts with some amazing authors!) That will air early June, and I’ll give you all the links when it’s live. Fingers crossed that the cable internet works!

How was your weekend?

Oh man, I loved cable internet when I had it (ages ago when I lived in FL) but it’s not available here. We can choose between DSL and satellite, yay. (We chose DSL.)

Those cookies look awesome. I hope you enlisted Wizard for the labor so you didn’t overtax your arm. :stern look:

I read stuff this weekend. And I managed to fish a little, even though the water’s still high and muddy. Didn’t catch anything, but the weather was gorgeous. I also managed to actually get a little work done. Not much, but better than nothing.

B.E. Maybe cable internet will become available in your area soon. I’ve been living with frustrating DSL for a while now, I really hope cable is better.

I used my mixmaster, so it wasn’t too bad on my arm. Wizard moved the mixmaster around for me :-)

Glad you’re getting some pretty weather! You guys don’t need any more rain for awhile.

    Have a great Monday!

Where has the morning gone? Oh…yeah…RL stuff. I want those cookies! Crossing fingers the upgrade goes well. Awesome about the podcast! :D

The weekend was pretty much lost to RL stuffs. The kids need to replace their fence. I think I got one of the Word bugaboos fixed. Now if I could just kill the other! Don’t ever download an Avery label template wizard thing. It’s worse than a Trojan and does NOT play nice with Word 2016. I was going to write but RL got in the way. We have to get LG a new truck by the end of the week and we’re fighting with the insurance company over the settlement on totalling out Old Red. Cheapskates! *muttermutter*

I’ve spent the morning looking for replacements on line at dealerships where my pre-approval will work. Now I have a headache.

Off to run errands now! And maybe write some new words.

Those cookies look tasty :). I love Twix. Good that Wizard helped you out and that he was the perfect taste tester :). They must be so amazing that he wants them at future get outings.

How is your arm? I sure hope the PT is helping. I just can’t see how you get your writing done when it hurts so much to use the mouse.

You will be so happy with cable internet. I have the slowest you can buy ( remember accountant husband ;)) and it is still so much better than DSL. I hope the transition goes well for you without any hang ups.

    Have a wonderful afternoon!

Silver, RL has been a total jerk to you lately. I’m so sorry! The word problems make me hyperventilate just thinking about it. And I know how insurances works. I hope you guys can find a truck within the insurance allowance soon! (FYI I owe you an email–soon!).

The cookies are wicked good :-)

Wishing you guys a run on unbelievable good luck!! Happy Monday!

Viki, this is the simplest and best shortbread recipe (the base of the Twix cookie) that I’ve made. I froze a good portion of the cookies, and I’m hope they’re as tasty defrosted.

The PT is helping, I think. I went to the gym this morning and added to arm exercises–I might be pushing it, but we’ll see. I’m going to ask them Wed. if I can start doing Yoga too. I’m guessing this injury will heal with time, PT and possibly another targeted cortisone shot (this time I’ll have my RA doc) do it. My pain is at a tolerable level as long as I take the neurontin, and maybe one dose of ibuprofen in the day, plus doing the PT exercises every day.

In your comment on the previous blog you said you guys haven’t found the leak, but suspect the upstairs bathtub. I hope your handyman can isolate and repair it! I’m sure you’re walking on eggshells waiting for a disaster. (Or maybe that’s just me)

The chiropractor — i feel the same as you. Can you get a recommendation from someone you know? I wish I had some magic cure for your arm. It honestly sounds like a serious issue that needs attention from the right specialist. I just feel so bad for you living in so much pain.

Hope you’re having a great start to your week!
