Weekend Roundup

It was another nonstop weekend. I’m sorry I didn’t answer Friday’s blog comments–but as always, I read them! Saturday, Wizard and I shopped for, and found 10 pictures, then hung them all on a big, slightly awkward wall in our living room to create a focal point gallery wall. We love it! We need to add a couple more pictures and do some fine tuning, then I’ll try to post a picture.

And we completed our refinishing tables project! As a reminder, the tables looked like this:

With our brown leather furniture, it was just too dark. We are going with a modern rustic theme in the room, so we sanded them down as far as we could, then whitewashed the tables, and this is how they turned out (sorry for the quick, sloppy pictures–I barely had time to snap a pic this weekend!):

We’re pretty happy with the coloring that came through giving it some “distress.”  We pulled all those colors, plus the colors from the pillows on the couch in the pictures on the wall.

But man this has been a ton of work! My shoulder’s not real pleased when I try to sleep, but it was worth it.

Sunday we went out to Middle Son and Fiances for dinner and to talk about their wedding plans. That was fun, and I’m excited for the lovely beach wedding in October. After that, there wasn’t enough time to go see our grandbaby since we left Maggie at home, but we’re going to go spend time with him this week.

I’m hoping to work this week too!

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

I just couldn’t get motivated this weekend so I played sloth. I need to make up for it this week, though. I love the way the tables turned out! Weddings and babies are so distracting. LOLOL

I’m going to finish the proposal for Cooper’s RDR book this week and I have a book coming out Thursday in Elle James’s Brotherhood Protectors Kindle World. It turned out to be almost 40K words, much longer than I usually write the KWs but that’s what the story needed. Oh, I also have revisions coming at some point on Tucker’s book. So yeah, I’ll be working on that too.

In the meantime, I need a nap! Or more coffee… ;)

    Have a great week, everyone!

Silver, thanks and yeah, it’s ALL distracting. Plus staying in motion keeps my ringing from driving me crazy. Once I see the ENT, I may have more answers, even if the answer is–it’s yours for life, at least I’ll know :-)

I have sloth weekends too! I think they’re good for us.

Wow you have a jam packed schedule! Awesome news on the book releasing on Thursday too, congrats! Nap, then coffee :-)

    Have a great week!

The table looks great. Looking at the before you can see how hard it must have been to sand the table down. You put tons of work into it but it’s worth it. Glad you had a nice time shopping for prints too.

Must have been fun talking plans for the wedding. How nice is it that it will take place on the beach – LOVE IT.

Have tons of fun with Baby Slayer this week.

We had a nice simple ham dinner yesterday. Middle son came but fiance’ stayed home, not feeling too well. I was like that Saturday night but it passed by mid Sunday morning.

    Have a great week!

Viki, thanks. It was a lot of sanding, but we split it up between us and that helped. We’re finishing the wall today, then looking at an estimate on a kitchen project then we’re done for a while aside from little touches here and there. This whole thing of buying a couch snowballed on us, LOL!

We’re really looking forward to the wedding, fingers crossed that early Oct is as nice this year as it has been for the last several years.

I’m so sorry both you and son’s fiance didn’t feel well at different times during the weekend. Ham is always a good choice at Easter. We went even simpler with Hamburgers, although I made deviled eggs which i think of as Easter-like :-)

Hope you have a great week too!
