Friday Five

Is it Friday? My days get scrambled, but I think it’s Friday…so that means it’s time to do our Friday Five! Here’s mine:

  1. I think we’re done with the redecorating for now. I wanted to do an update in my kitchen by painting my cupboards white. We got a quote and my budget screamed in agony. So I’m taking that as a no, LOL! We have a LOT of cupboards so there’s no way we’re doing them ourselves. (Don’t even think it Wizard! I can hear your brain considering it, but just stop now!) I still have a few little touches, like lamps, to finish in the living room, but those aren’t budget breakers so I’ll do those as I find the time.
  2. The next thing we have to tackle are new cell phones, and I’m scared to even start pricing those + a new plan. Wizard and I only have so many kidneys to sell to pay for these luxuries :-)
  3. The book! Yesterday, I was doing one of my favorite parts–going back and layering something in. It sounds small but feels huge. It was something that’s been bugging me about the book, and I finally found a way to address it. I love where this book is going (finally!).  Life should slow down enough to focus more consistently. (Fingers crossed that’s true!!!)
  4. Two random Maggie pics because even though I have a grandson, I still love her!
  5. I think I’m seeing Baby Slayer this weekend. My plan is to make chicken enchiladas, take them out then watch Baby Slayer for a couple of hours while Special K gets some work done. At least that was the plan last time I checked, but I’ll call today to make sure that still works for them. They always tell me I can come anytime, but I’ve been trying to time it to give them a real break to sleep or get something done. There’s no tired like new parent tired!

Okay that’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Yay for Maggie and your book! And yay for you being such an awesome grandma! Ugh, I don’t even want to think about redecorating or home improvement stuffs. Since I only use the cell phone for emergencies, I have the same one I’ve had since like 2010 – a TracFone with no bells or whistles.

    1) I got my edits back and my editor said they’re pretty sparse, so I’m hoping to get everything done and release next Friday. Or earlier if I can make it happen.
    2) I should be done with my extended project for ‘other job’ today so I can get on with my life. I’m glad I did it, but I’ll be glad when it’s over.
    3) Kira seems to be back to normal now. :fingers crossed:
    4) My lilac bush is covered with buds, so I’m expecting to have the best bloom it’s had since we moved here. Yay!
    5) I think all my azalea bushes are on their last legs. I’ll see what they do this spring and if they don’t bounce back, I’m pulling them out and putting something hardier in there.

Yay for Baby Slayer time. I hear you on the kitchen update. Every time I see pics and how-tos, I think…and then back away slowly. Maggie knows you love her. LG and Only upgraded recently to iPhone 8s. Mine is still a 6. My battery is holding so it’s good. We’re on a “rent the phone by paying each month and then upgrade every year if you want to” plan with AT&T. It works for us. Yay on the book! Don’t you love it when the light bulb finally goes off and things fall into place? B.E. azaleas thrive in acidic soil which few plants like. The people with magnificent bushes around here say to mulch them with pecan hulls every year, keep them in partial shade, and water them over the winter. Something to ponder. Okay, my five…

    1) I finished the first 3 chapters (FINALLY!!!) on RDR #9 and I’ll be writing the synopsis (have I mentioned I hate writing a synopsis before I’ve written the book? today, formatting from Scrivener to Word and sending off to NY.

    2) Mother Nature is whacked. Pushing 90 today and allegedly dropping to 50 tomorrow with the chance of a freeze on Sunday. What’s up with that?!?!

    3) Stormageddon is coming tomorrow morning while his mother goes to get her hair cut. Lawyer Guy has a meeting so it’ll just be the Storm and I. Also, his parents signed him up for T-ball and told them to keep his birth certificate handy because he’s so much bigger than the other kids. I remember those days.

    4) I’m sort of in a reading desert at the moment. Nothing new on my Kindle or my Audible app are singing siren songs. I’m using the library and/or Audible Romance to listen to previously read books. The good thing is, I’m not glued to the Kindle or with the earphones stuck in my ears, which means I’m now getting stuff done. Mostly.

    5) It’s Friday, the possibilities are endless, and I’m going to enjoy the day. Have a great weekend, everyone!

    1. Can’t say I blame you on ending the re-decorating. The cabinets would be WAY too much work.
    2. Oh man, cell phones :(. The cost in crazy. Hubs and I both do pay as you go with Verizon. It’s about $45/month per phone but that was the cheapest we could find. Neither of us use much data and we use our WiFi most of the time.
    3. That’s great with the book.
    4. Loving Maggie. I just love her eyes :).
    5. Sure hope you get to go over to Baby Slayers. I bet his parents would love real food. Have fun.

1a. It’s beautiful and 82F here right now. Spunk is loving having “his” window open :).
2a. Eldest got me tickets to the Rock Hall induction ceremony tomorrow. He knows how much I love Bon Jovi :). Hubs isn’t too happy because he has to take me .
3a. Still can’t Windows updates to install and Microsoft keeps saying they’re calling me back – but don’t  .
4a. Middle son and lady have found a new place to live and are dumping everything so we have to go pick up his handmade twin bed tomorrow with youngest kids truck.
5a. Harrison is outside for the first time. His mom is too funny. It had to be over 70F.

How did the doctor appointments go? Any answers on the tinnitus?

    Have a great weekend :)!

B.E., it’s a lot cheaper to go that route on cell phones. I like mine for travel and things, but we’ll see. I’m not going to pay a fortune. Okay onto your five:

    1) Good news on your edits!
    2) And more good news on your extended project!
    3) Really glad to hear Kira’s doing better.
    4) You have something beautiful to look forward to with your lilac bush.
    5) Bummer on your azaleas. (I’ll leave it to Silver to help since I’m not much of a gardner)

    Hope you’re weekend is amazing!

Silver, we backed away from doing ANY updates for a long time. We had money saved for family room couches and had a melt down any time we went out shopping, LOL! Plus it takes so much time and running around. And my iPhone is a 4 s :-) Okay your five:

    1) You are the bomb! The proposal for the 9th RDR!!!!
    2) Totally agree on Mother Nature. I’ve given up guessing the color of her crazy.
    3) Yay for Storm-time! You’re gonna be tired though! And yep, good advice on the birth cert for T-Ball on up. My kids weren’t super big, but I saw the “questioning” of those who were.
    4) What is it with finding books we want to read or listen too?
    5) Did Friday being endless possibilities????

Go out and rock the weekend!

Viki, something like that cell phone plan might work for Wizard and I too. I’ll check. Buit yeah, it’s scary. I really can’t see paying 800.00 for a freaking phone, even if it is a computer. For your five:

    1) Spring has sprung for Spunk!
    2) That’s so awesome of eldest to score those for you!
    3) At this point, Microsoft owes you a new computer and upgraded software. It’s utterly crazy.
    4) That handmade bed sounds pretty special. Are you going to keep it at your house for Harrison to use? And congrats to Middle and his girl on their new place.
    5) Did Harrison enjoy going outside? I had a sister in law like Harrison’s mom, LOL! The kids all turned out fine. Then there’s me–I walked Baby Slayer outside two weeks ago, trying to get him to wake up to eat. My daughter in law is a saint and puts up with me :-) Or she was just too tired to fully process what I was doing.

I wasn’t going to bore you guys with endless updates on my doc appointments :-) I saw two docs. ENT is ordering an MRI as a precaution. And I saw the pain doc, got a bunch more trigger point shots, and scheduled another type of (facet joint) surgical injections.

Hope you have a great weekend!
