Weekend Roundup

This weekend had a plot twist :-) So far,  it looks like this will end well, but a family member got suddenly ill and ended up in the emergency room on Sunday. Wizard and I went, dreading bad news, but by the time we left, things looking positive.  Fingers crossed it stayed that way!

Honestly, it become a running joke, all I have to do is open my book file to work, and life starts pitching curveballs.

I’m still trying to convince the red, raw spots in my mouth/throat to heal. It’s just plain weird, but I believe the doctor that it’s very likely from inhaling smoke, heat and stress, along with the fact that I tend to have dry mouth from meds. Even Maggie was off for a while, and just started eating normally a few days ago.

I’m not even going to test fate and vow to work today, I’m just going to see how it goes, and work if I can :-)

So how was your weekend?

Orajel makes a mouthwash that’s supposed to help with oral pain and help keep mouth sores clean. Other than that, I use a supplement called Lysine to help heal the ones I get when I bite the inside of my mouth or to get rid of those stupid acid bumps on my tongue.

Positive thoughts for your family member. :hugs: And for your writing success.

Sleeping Ugly went live Saturday night. I actually met my deadline, which was a total surprise to me. I figured I’d be a day late at least. Of course, I did bust my hump those last couple days, so I shouldn’t have been too surprised. But ugh, I was toast on Sunday.

Sending good thoughts to the family! Maybe you just need to sneak up on the book, all shhhh like. Take it (and life) by surprise, y’know?

You might also try gargling with apple cider vinegar. Nasty taste but it works for me with cankers, denture rubs, and the like.

Not surprised everyone is stressed out and off. Y’all went through an ordeal. Glad the normal is coming back.

Yay for SLEEPING UGLY, B.E.! I have it on my Kindle and will get to it as I can! And will leave a review. :)

As for me? I’m now 1/3 of the way through what is not a revision but basically a total rewrite. Still not thrilled but the story and timeline is coming together and the heroine and I are resigned to the necessary changes to her personality. *sigh* I’ll be toast before I’m done. Or drunk. Because wine/beer/whiskey/TEQUILA is all looking better and better.

    Cheers to a new week!

B.E., good idea! I’ll pick up some of the mouthwash and or lozenges today. I’ve been using salt water, which isn’t great for dry mouth, but should help fight off infection.

Family member is doing good this morning, just waiting for more tests.

Yay on SLEEPING UGLY!! And yay YOU on busting your hump to get it up on time! So glad you reminded me here, I got my copy! I’m slowly reading “1984” by George Orwell (because it was on sale through Bookbub and I always wanted to read it) now and when I’m done with that, I’ll dive into SLEEPING UGLY!

    Happy Monday!

Silver, thanks on family, things are good this morning, just waiting for more tests. And LOLOL!! I am so going to sneak up on the thing that can’t be mentioned!!

Ummm, not desperate enough gargle with any vinegar :-) But if I get worse, I’ll give it a shot.

I just bought SLEEPING UGLY too!

Oh man, I’m sorry you have to make this changes that go against your muse, so to speak. Those total rewrites are brutal, but it’s going to be worth it. You’ll love it soon! It’s just making the mental/emotional transition. Once your done, you need a break, and then you can indulge in your drink of choice

    Happy Writing!!

I pray that all is still going well for your family member. It’s always scary.

Maybe you ought to leave the book for a week and let life calm down ;).

Are you using anything like a baking soda rinse for the sores in your mouth? Black tea is also good.

Just had a call from my brother. The Hep-C he had back in the 80’s (he was an experimental interferon patient) is back. He also had had Hep-B so they have to be real careful pin pointing his treatment so that the Hep-B doesn’t come back. Also, they found something on my SIL’s mammogram. She’s going to have a second opinion. And….the coonhound cut his foot open between two toes. Many stitches inside and out. $1200 – YIKES!

I hope you have a really great afternoon :)!

Viki, thanks. Another night in the hospital, but so far, so good.

Wow I am so sorry!! You’re going hit from all sides. Hope your brother’s Hep C can be controlled or put into remission/cured. That’s really scary on the mammogram your SIL. Good on second opinion, and I’m definitely praying for your brother and SIL.

OMG on the coonhound. Not sure who he belongs too, but that sounds like a bloody, icky injury. Hope he heals up with no problems. Ugh on the cost!

I really hope your week gets better!!

Hi Jenn – All of the bad news surrounds my brother. He has the Hep C, his wife the mammogram, and his dog the cut foot. When it rains, it pours.

I hope you’re having a good day. Has the heat let up at all yet?

Wow, Viki, it’s really pouring on your brother and his wife right now. I hope the news gets better!

It’s a few degrees cooler, but more humid lately. It’s a hot summer!
