Weekend Roundup

My weekend was unexciting, and I’ll take it. Wizard and I have found a one story house we love. And we liked the area too! Now if only we could find the money to buy the house :-). It’s out of our reach at the moment. Which makes me angry at myself because I can’t work much right now, but that’s just stupid. Yes I get that, really I do. I understand intellectually I can’t control this disk/nerve crap.

My emotions are just a little slower to catch on.

On the other hand, we are danged lucky to have our home with how close that fire came, so we have a lot to be thankful for. We are still getting ash in the pool and tracked into the house every single day as a stark reminder. Plus every morning Maggie and I see the devastation on our walks. So gratefulness trumps our new house envy.

Otherwise, my weekend was trying to work a little, and doing boring stuff.

How was yours?

When time and circumstances are right, you’ll find the right house. :hugs: But yeah, I understand. And I’m so glad your home was untouched by the fires.

The weekend here was fine. Not much going on. I probably spent too much time reading and not enough time writing. Kira’s on the mend, so I gave her the bath she desperately needed. Then I had to clean the bathroom. Fun stuff.

What B.E. said about the house. Ours need repairs and looking and brand-new-and-shiny is a pastime because ours is paid off so no mortgage. Plus, the idea of packing and moving? No. Just…no. Sorry about the ash. It’ll eventually blow/dissolve. As for the health, you just need to do what you need to do to get well. The rest will take care of itself.

I vegged. Again. We did have pancake breakfast on Saturday. Got to see JGG (Jolly Green Giant) and the kids. His soccer game was canceled due to standing water on the fields. He was bummed out but got to play corn hole at the post.

I finished LEVERAGE IN DEATH by JD Robb. Really enjoyed it. Now I’m just sort of drifting through audio books to kill time until the next set of books I want to read/listen to release later in the fall.

Sounds like it was a bit of a “nothing” weekend for everyone. We all need those once in awhile. :) Here’s to a good week for us all.

B.E., I agree we’ll find the house when it’s right. Given the surgery looming over us, plus another family member facing major surgery, this probably isn’t the best time :-)

I’m so glad Kira’s on the mend! Hope she didn’t mind the bath.

More vegging than writing is what weekends are about!

Silver, we’re in the same position of no mortgage. I’m sorry about the repairs though, those are expensive and time consuming.

Sorry the waterlogged field cancelled JGG’s game :-( But at least he got to hang out with you guys and had fun.

I’ve been thinking about getting her books and rereading. I didn’t keep my copies. I always enjoy her JD Robb books!

I vote for all of us having a great week too!

I have the same feelings about moving as Silver. I can’t stand it but I understand your desire to downsize. As B.E. said when the time is right the house for you will be yours :).

It rained all weekend and is still misting. It wasn’t very heavy here but enough. Certainly not the 5 inches they warned we’d get. Now we have to see if Florence ruins next weekend. It really doesn’t bother me at all ;).

I hope all goes well with the second visit with the doctor and you feel confident in whatever course of action you decide to take.

    Have a great afternoon!

Viki, the idea of moving is overwhelming, never mind the part about selling the house!

The rain sounds nice, but I hope you don’t get too much with Florence. It’s projected to be bad.

Thanks, I’m pretty sure all will go fine with my visit. And I hope you have a great evening!
