Weekend Roundup

Awesome weekend! My niece’s wedding was at sunset against the rolling hills of Temecula Wine Country (in Southern CA).  My niece was beautiful, and both the bride and groom shined with love and graciousness. All three of our sons, their wives/fiances and Baby Slayer went, and I’m so proud that all of them really strive to make these important family occasions. It truly was a fun night, and of course, Baby Slayer was adorable as he was passed around the family and extended family. There was also a little flower girl from the groom’s side of the family who was so cute too. She did a great job of walking down the aisle and dropping rose petals from her basket. I’m guessing she was about three or four, and later that night, she was dancing up a storm on the dance floor. She was totally precious!

And of course Baby Slayer spent the night with us (along with his mom and dad). Baby Slayer was so keyed up he didn’t go to sleep until around midnight, but then he slept straight through until about 7:30 or so. He’s such a good baby! Here’s a pic of him with me right after waking in the morning when he’s mellow and just hangs out for a little while.

This is Baby Slayer with his dad (cut out of the frame cuz it’s all about Baby Slayer which makes CPA Boy pout and say things like, “Remember me, Mom, your first born son?” LOL!!) And look at all that hair on that boy! He’s still a bit young, and way too wiggly, for a haircut.

He smiles and laughs all the time, but I didn’t get any pictures of that, of course. I was too busy playing with him! By the time they went home Sunday afternoon, Wizard and I were toast. I don’t think I can lift my bad arm (from my neck issues), but it’s all worth it! Wizard, CPA Boy and Special K, watched me for the slightest wince of pain–honestly they’re all exhausting because nothing’s going to stop me from playing with Baby Slayer! But I do speak up if something causes hot pain, or I know I can’t lift him at a certain angle, so they need to trust me to tell them :-) On the other hand, family care and be a little protective is a pretty good problem to have in life.

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Yay for a wonderful weekend! Baby Slayer is so awesome. So much hair! The Kid didn’t have that much hair until she was like two. Yep, you can’t let fear of pain shut you down from the things you want to do. Otherwise, you’ll just be sitting in a corner playing tiddlywinks. And it’s good that your family gets it, even if they do hover a little.

There was a weekend?? Nobody told me. ;o) Seriously, I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary – read, wrote a little, walked, watched TV. Oh, I made cornbread from scratch for the first time. Hubs is raving over it. I dropped the recipe on my FB page. Other than that, nada.

The wedding sounds beautiful and how much fun to have the whole family gathered. Yay for Baby Slayer time and yay for family care and concern. Take a little time to recouperate!

We did the Y Youth soccer thing Saturday morning. 4yos running after a soccer ball is a sight to behold. JGG (Jolly Green Giant) is half a head taller than the next tallest on his team. While the Y officials don’t keep score, you can bet the spectactors were. ;) JGG’s team “won” 8-2, and JGG scored one of the goals. :D Then the rain came. We were finished out and out just in time.

Yesterday, I spent the entire day wrestling with HTML code on a website. (Not mine.) I’ve taken the NRCA back as chair and I started out updating forms and the OKRWA website pages with new dates. The whole site was recently (updated) with a new theme and stuff. Some of the code got broken in the process. Good thing I’m still an administer on the site. But it literally took HOURS to find the broken code. My eyes are crossed and I was ready for wine by 10 a.m. All fixed now, but I hadn’t planned on losing the whole day to the process. So…like B.E., there was a weekend? ;)

New week. Gonna get writerly stuff done. No. Really. … Okay, y’all need to stop laughing now. I’m serious.

B.E. Yes, all those things with weddings, babies and family :-)

I saw your cornbread recipe when I was scrolling FB on my Kindle, and I kept going so as NOT TO BE TEMPTED!! But today, I went back and snagging up that recipe. I’ll probably wait until some cold weather to make it.

Many of my weekends are like that too.

Silver, Thanks and I took some time to kick back yesterday afternoon, today has been a typical busy Monday of stuff. I’m going to hurt no matter what I do, so I’d rather get things done :-)

LOLOL on four year olds playing soccer. They all move like a bee hive, or at least that was my experience when I put my four year old in soccer. It was cute and amusing. And of course the parents kept score! Yay for JGG’s team!

Wowzers, you had your plate full with the coding issue. Finding broken code, or what is precisely wrong with the code, like colon in stead of a semicolon is enough to cause spontaneous human combustion! I’m glad you were able to do it, but that’s a cosmic challenge!

Hope you get stuff done, and I’m not laughing at all. I’m getting stuff done, but it’s just never enough to tame the stuff pile!

The wedding sounds lovely. It must have been a beautiful background at sunset too.

The flower girls sounds sweet. How great that Baby Slayer had fun too and stayed up for the entire party. Glad he got a good nights sleep.

I love the video of Baby Slayer trying to crawl. Showed hubs and he got that same tender look on his face as he gets with Harrison. Isn’t it great how babies melt men ;)?

It’s good that you know your limits and are able to get the family to trust you in letting them know when you can’t do something. I can never watch Harrison because I can’t hold him safely with my right arm :(.

Hubs and I went to the new restaurant in the village next to us Saturday night. It was really good but super expensive. He had a beer and I had a glass of wine, one salad and two entrees and a pc of carrot cake to go. With tip, $140. That’s just too much for two people when it’s not a special occasion.

Got my hair done today. Yippie! No more gray :).

    Have a great afternoon!

Viki, your arm is still that bad? Is there nothing that can be done to help? I’m so sorry, it’s terrible not to be able to hold Harrison.

Thanks of the video of him trying to crawl! He’s so determined, it’s really cute. It’s going to the entire family to keep up with him once he’s mobile :-)

Wow that’s INSANE on the restaurant price. We’ll pay that much on very rare occasions, but like you, we don’t do it for just an average dinner out.

I love the good feeling of getting the gray out of our hair. I had mine done last Friday morning.

I hope you can find a solution to your arm pain!
