Happy New Year!!

Hi all! It’s the final day of 2018, and right here in my arms is one of my biggest joys of the year, Baby Slayer! This is us on Christmas Day:

I got special permission from Hover Man aka Wizard to have my brace off for a while as long as I was sitting. Baby Slayer got toys for Christmas, but he wanted to play with his plastic cup :-)  Another of my biggest joys was my middle son marrying his wife, and giving Wizard and I another beloved daughter-in-law. It’s been a great year in that respect!

More good news is that Max, CPA’s little 3-year-old Maltipoo dog, is coming home today! A week before Thanksgiving two discs in his lower spine burst and he was instantly paralyzed in his back legs. We don’t know how it happened, but were told it may be genetic. Emergency surgery and weeks of live-in rehabilitation have been miraculous and he’s walking again. It’s a new and different walk, but little Max doesn’t care. He’s all go,go,go! without worrying about how it looks. They came way too close to losing Max, so this is a real joy. And it’s a lesson in believing. They believed Max could do this and he did! He still has challenges in front of him, but we’re all going to keep believing he can do it! (This picture is CPA boy visiting Max in rehab.).

And you know what? If little Max can do it, so can I! Maybe not at full speed yet, and maybe the process won’t look pretty or graceful but I’m gonna be Max. He runs, half dragging his back legs, falls, pops right up and keeps on running.  He doesn’t let a disability get in the way of living his life and being happy:-)

And that’s what I wish for all of you too–a year of going for your goals with full on joy and not worrying how it looks to others. Be Max and go!

Happy New Year!

Baby Slayer! Red cups are the best toys, doncha know. They’re shiny and smooth and red, and they make neat noises when you bang them against things. You’re looking awesome, Jenn! You go, girl. Yay for Max!

Here’s to an amazing 2019 for us all! :hugs:

Awwww! Puppis and kids. They make everything right in the world. And I agree with B.E. Red cups and boxes. The best part of Christmas. ;) And you look rested. This is good. And leave it to you to focus on all the good things that happened in your year, rather than the tough stuff.

I’m not sorry to see 2018 roll out the back door. Not sure I’m quite ready to welcome 2019 in the front but it’ll be something new and different. Hopefully.

    Onward and upward!

I love this photo! That was very nice of the warden to allow you to take the neck brace off for a bit. Wizard is very good at watching out for you.

Baby Slayer is very happy with his red cup and Grandma :). I love how the little dudes really like basic stuff and we spend tons of money on stuff they really aren’t impressed with ;).

Way to go Max! CPA boy and Special K are wonderful fur parents. I am so happy they invested in Max and now Max is back and having fun:)! Great way to begin the new year!

Are you and Wizard bringing in the New Year? We have never :). I think I was 19 or 20 the last time I went out to celebrate. Now it’s just another day for me.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!

B.E., absolutely, red cups are the best! He really loves banging it and pretending to drink from it :-) Max is a sweet and much loved dog, but it really was Special K who hunted down this rehab and gave Max the chance to show us all his fighting spirit.

I hope you and your husband have a great New Year’s Eve and next year is your best year yet!

Silver, thanks I’m feeling pretty good overall. I don’t always focus on the positive, LOL! But as we end the holiday season and approach the new year, I always remind myself life is what we make of it :-) And you guys had to hear my whining enough for the year!

I hope 2019 is extraordinarily good to you and your family, Silver!

Viki, aw thank you! Wizard took the photo :-) He really is a warden, but I understand he’s worried and that it was a big surgery. Much as I gripe, I am mostly not driving, and stopping whatever I’m doing when he asks me to.

You’re so right on babies/toddlers and their toys. They are just as happy with tupperware and spoons.

Special K really went the extra mile for Max. CPA Boy did too, but K did the research and found the place.

Wizard and I might get an early dinner, but no we won’t stay up. I may be awake unintentionally, but Wizard will sleep :-)

Wishing you and your family a very happy new year, and hope it’s the best one yet!!
