Weekend Roundup

The weekend was good!  Wedding dress shopping of Friday with youngest son’s finance was a success! She’s going to be a beautiful bride! I’ve known this girl 12 years, so we are very excited for the wedding in November.

Saturday, I was able to access my x-ray results ahead of seeing my doctor this week. My fusion is stable! That’s the good news. There’s one thing in the x-ray report I don’t understand, so I’ll find out what that means when I see the doctor on Wednesday. But knowing my fusion is stable is a huge relief. I’m hoping that Wednesday, I’ll be freed of the collar, at least in the day. I can deal with the soft collar at night if I need to keep wearing it.

Sunday we went to visit Baby Slayer, and as a bonus Middle Son and his wife came by too. Then we went to a Gymboree style baby play group. Wizard was out there crawling around on the mats with Baby Slayer, along with his parents. I was out there too, but it was so much fun just watching the way Baby Slayer brings out Wizard’s inner child. It was an awesome day! When we got home, I took Maggie for a long walk.

I maybe have overdone it a little bit yesterday, but it was all worth it.

Today, I’m writing, I’ve declared Groundhog Day Hell over and I’m skipping a head a chapter or two in order to move ahead. Once I know more about how the plot unfolds, I can come back and work on the skipped chapter(s). The problem with that is the logical side of my brain pitches a hissy fit when I don’t write it order, but I’m going to ignore the tantrum and go, go, go!

How was your weekend?

YAY! (for everything but the overdoing it.) I’m so glad you had a nice dress-shopping day. And that your stuff is stable. And that Wizard had so much fun at the play group. Fingers cross the skipping ahead works for you. Maybe that’s what I need to do. (even though, like you, it gives me the squirms.)

Yesterday, we moved everything out of the spare room and cleaned the carpet. Next up, the office carpet. But I think that’ll be next weekend because it’ll be a bear to do and we have things. I made another batch of Oatmeal Raisin cookies. Oats are good for you. LOL. I read a bunch of pages in All Things Great and Small. Watched a ton of TV. It finally snowed here. Maybe a half inch, but enough to make everything pretty for a while.

Yay! So much good news! My process would drive you batty!

Life here is pretty much the same ol’ same ol’. *shrug* I taught a class on Scrivener at my RWA chapter meeting on Saturday. It was fun. Sadly, though, the only “writing” I’m doing is flash fiction. It appears that I’ll be writing all my books in 250 word increments–at least for the forseeable future.

It’s cold. I just want to curl up under the covers and veg. In fact, I think I might just do that now. LOLOL

You had a great weekend. Dress shopping success, neck healing correctly, by-passing ground hog day ;), and best of all – Baby Slayer!

I bet you all had a ton of fun playing with James. It looks like he had a great time :).

Our weekend was full of snow and cold. More cold today.

Got my hair done but after braving my own main road I called middle son and told him not to come out to work on the router. He has bad tires and just our main road is a mess. The rest of the roads are pretty good. He will try and come out tomorrow. The temperature is supposed to go up to 33F so that should help clear things up.

I hurt my back and don’t know how I did it. I can’t really move or get comfortable right now. Hope it goes away as quickly as it showed up.

    Have a great day!

B.E, I couldn’t do it, I ended up back in the scenes I’ve been working in, LOL!

You have a clean room and carpet, that’s an accomplishment! Oatmeal is very nutritious :-) Good reading and snow sounds like a good combo too.

Hope your week is getting off to a good start!

Silver, it probably would drive me nuts, but skipping around sometimes adds clarity. I just couldn’t do it today, but I did get a scene rewritten that I wanted too. I know where I want to go, it’s just details getting in my way.

Yay for the RWA Class. I could use that, by the way. Eventually I’ll get up on Scrivener. As for writing, if flash fiction is working for you, do it!

You guys all got the colder version of our storms. Hope you’re snuggling and relaxing, and have a great week!

Viki, Baby Slayer is the best just like Harrison is :-)

Brrr, I hear it’s really cold! Sounds like you made a good call asking your son to come tomorrow. Bad tires and snow/ice/rain do not mix.

Oh no, I feel for you with your back. It’s awful when that happens, and even more frustrating when you don’t know how you did it. I hope the usual remedies (ice, heat, anti inflammatories, lidocaine cream or patches) help and you feel better soon.

I’d say your week is off to a rough start, I really hope it improves!
