Weekend Roundup

The weekend was ok. I spent time on words…I’m right back into my pattern of writing, deleting, cutting, pasting and generally driving myself crazy. No news there, LOL :-)  Saturday we had heavy rains and winds, and Wizard went racing with Middle Son to an indoor track. I was mildly concerned about him driving home because he has to travel four different freeways and I knew there’d be a fair amount of traffic. Turns out, I was concerned about the wrong family member.

They are fine, but CPA Boy, Special K and Baby Slayer were hit and spun out in heavy rain on the freeway Saturday evening, Again they are all okay, and watching out for any delayed problems like whiplash. Thankfully Baby Slayer was in his rear-facing car seat, and just a little scared. I saw him Sunday, and he was happy and playing as usual. Their car, however, is pretty banged up and will go into the dealer today for some bodywork. From what they’ve pieced together, a young man driving a brand new car spun out in the heavy rain, hit them and they did a 360 before both cars came to a stop. Thankfully no other cars hit them after that, although they did back up traffic until the police could get there to safely move the cars out the lanes of traffic. In that kind of rain, and at night, it could have been MUCH worse, so we’re all grateful.

And a little extra fun (NOT), I got an email threat to use my webcam to distribute porn of me if I don’t pay up in Bitcoin. Um…good luck with that. **Delete**  Garbage like this, and all the other craptastic scams run by trolls that need to be squeezed and popped like puss-filled boils, are why I need a glass of wine by the end of the day.

To end on a more cheerful note, here’s me and and Baby Slayer from yesterday. Baby Slayer has a super cool play space that he lurch-walks across, back and forth, like Maggie when she gets the crazy zoomies. It’s pretty funny since he hasn’t quite mastered walking, so he just pitches himself forward and toddle-runs. Somehow it usually works for him. Other times, he faceplants but gets right back up and does it again. In this photo, we’re playing with his dump truck.

That’s my weekend, how was yours?

ACK! That’s some scary stuff right there. I’m so glad no one was hurt. :hugs: I think I got the webcam porn spam once. Pretty silly stuff since it would require 1) for us to have an active webcam (Hubs has one on his laptop but it’s taped over) and 2) for us to have done something worth recording in front of our computers. All people would see here is hours and hours of us sitting at our computers. And the cat using her litterbox. Woohoo.

Yay for Baby Slayer! He’s so awesome. =o)

There was a weekend? I spent some of it in the woods, some of it working on the sale I have going right now, and the rest is pretty much a blur. I did make homemade pizza yesterday. I’m counting that as exercise because of all the kneading. LOL

WHEW!!!! So glad they are okay. That’s soooo scary! Glad everyone was buckled in. I hope the kid has good insurance! Baby Slayer is at that really cute age. Lawyer Guy calls it the “drunken sailor” stage.

I hear you on the writing. No further comment.

We did pancake breakfast at the post and then Only, JGG, and I went to siren test. LG can’t do them because the Post pancake breakfast is the first Saturday, just like the siren test and the breakfast isn’t over in time. Baseball Boy had baseball practice so it was just us three. We had lunch at our favorite Mex restaurant and neithre of us killed JGG even though he was on a “roll.”

I cleaned out the dog pools yesterday and refilled them while the weather was nice. We have a new little momma cat and her kitten who visit the outdoor feeding bowls occasionally. I’d love to have the kitten, and the mom. Wouldn’t split them up. Both are all black and too cute! Totally skittish so not sure I’ll ever get the chance to catch and domesticate them. I would.

That pretty much sums up my life at the moment. Have a great week, everyone.

OH my heaven! So happy to hear that Baby Slayer and family are okay. I hope that they don’t have any latent injuries. The poor car too :(. I kind of feel for the young guy too. He probably had no real experience with very wet roads.

Good to hear you’re back in the writing swing of things.

Love Baby Slayer. Harrison has a play yard too. That must be the “new” thing. My kids just had free range of the house ;).

All internet trolls should be shot!

Saturday heard dripping. Yes, water in the attic. Had roofers here. They seem to think the roof is okay and are offering other ideas. We’ll see. Meanwhile I’m bummed and hubs is driving me crazy trying to come up with no cost solutions. Honestly, I’m cheap too but he’s being stupid. He said I should just open the only closed vent on the second floor and that will solve the problem. Men! Sometimes I really think God cheated them in the brains department :(.

    Off to make dinner.

    Have a good evening :)!

B.E., same here! I don’t have a webcam on my main computer, and that’s the only one I use for the site they were threatening.

Kneading homemade pizza dough sounds like exercise to me. And it sounds delicious! I may put that on my list for this week, although I’d have a toppings fight on my hands. I could do half my way and half Wizards.

Hope your sale is going well! I haven’t been online much at all. I’m so lazy, LOL!

Silver, yep everyone was buckled up. They don’t mess around with safety. And yes, drunken sailor is the perfect description!

I won’t say anymore about writing today :-)

Sorry LG had to miss the breakfast, but it’s all important stuff so we do the best we can. Three at lunch is still fun, and hopefully the food was good.

Maybe you’ll get a chance to lure mom and baby cats into your care. It sounds like they are sticking close, so you might build trust. Although feral cats don’t trust easily.

Hope your week is off to a good start.

Viki, once I was sure everyone is okay, I feel for the kid too. He ran up to the car and asked if they were okay, so he manned up and has my respect for that. It was an accident.

Special K is going through “dealing with the insurance” pain today. I feel for her too.

LOL my kids had free range too. Every generation is different.

I am sick of scammers and blackmailers. They tried that with my website once too–but it’s on my web designers server so, the joke was on them.

Oh no! And if there’s water in the attic it has to be coming from somewhere. The roof is the most logical source, until you have water or plumbing pics running at the top of your attic, or in the walls?

I can’t quite follow your hubby’s logic into opening a vent. Sounds like he’s grasping at straws. I’m so sorry you guys are dealing with this. You just had the cracked window!

    FYI I’m cheap too :-)

I really hope your week gets better! I’d be bummed too. I can feel your frustration, and wish I could help more.
