Wednesday Worthy

Today we have here a hunk on vacation at the seaside. I gotta say though, I’m a little worried about him lounging on that wood bench because…splinters!!

Huh, now that I’ve thought of splinters, I’m thinking about Splinter from the cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. That makes me think of the time CPA Boy was about five or six. We were getting in the car after soccer, and CPA Boy dropped his handheld Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game device down the storm drain.

There were TEARS!!! Major TEARS. His grandma had given him that toy, and he was heartbroken.

Wizard jumped into hero mode, removed the cover, and went down into the storm drain to recover the toy game.

CPA boy was awed! But Wizard wasn’t done, he then wove a ridiculous story about how Splinter was down there and had caught the device, thereby saving it from total destruction, and then waited for Wizard to come retrieve it.

CPA Boy and his two younger brothers totally believed this story!

But this guy here? He doesn’t look anything like that mutant rat mentor/instructor from the cartoon.  And I’m still worried he’s going to get splinters from that bench. Anyhow, splinters or not, he’s our Wednesday Worthy hunk for today.

You know the question–is he worthy?

    Wizard to the rescue!

I had three pet mice for a while in college – Splinter, Shredder, and Spike. I was never that into TMNT, but the boys I babysat were and the names just seemed to fit those mice. (Yeah, I know Spike doesn’t go with TMNT, but he was the only mouse with a white-tipped tail. Looked like he had a spike at the end there.)

Ahem, where was I? Oh, yes… Worthy. Definitely worthy.

Awwww! Wizard is a superhero! And I’m laughing. Awesome story. Stormy is totally into TMNT. That was the theme of his birthday party this year. Raphael is his favorite and he can recognize their names and can tell them apart by their colors. Me? Totally clueless. LOL

I’m not really feeling this guy so I’ll take a pass. Y’all enjoy him. ;)

I love how your mind works :). Circling back to TMNT’s was great. Wizard saved the day – hero!

I like this guy and I’m sure he was careful not hurt that lovely skin. Worthy!

    Have a great day.

B.E., I bet your mice were cute! I love that you gave them such powerful names, LOL! I’m not sure about mice, but I know rats can be super sweet pets. I used let one of the kids classroom rats come home with us for holidays, and he had a super cool personality that made me forget about his tail.

Glad I’m not the only one wandering down that old memory trails :-)

Silver, wow I remember when MY kids were that into TMNTs! Hard to believe they’ve endured this long! Stormy sounds pretty amazing. I bet he tells you allllll about them :-)

I love that old story about Wizard and Splinter because it was all spontaneous. Not many people have seen that side of him, but the kids really brought it out.

Viki, it was quite a segue from the topic for me, LOL! I was surprised Wizard went down into the storm drains, since Wizard can be squeamish about some things. But his son’s heartbroken tears was a great motivator :-)

I sure hope you’re right, and this guy doesn’t mar his nicely tanned skin!
