Weekend Roundup

It was sizzling hot, but a good weekend otherwise.

Saturday, Wizard and I finished painting the two sets of frames and hung them on either side of the picture of our grandson, Turbo. I couldn’t get a good shot without the glare, sorry! But the pictures are silly ones we took at the photo booth at Middle Son and his wife’s wedding. We were clearly having a blast:

The rest of the day was busy with life type of things. We’ve also went to a couple open houses in our target area, however we’re just exploring and researching possibilities. But honestly, we’ve freshened up our home, and are enjoying it.  Plus are we really ready to give up our pool?

Speaking of the pool, yesterday while Wizard was off with Middle Son, I decided to go in the pool. I didn’t want to get my hair wet, so I put it up in a clip, then got into the water and hopped on the raft like I’ve done hundreds times.

Of course I fell off. Yep, I soaked about half my hair. Bleh.

The only one who saw me, though, was Maggie. I might have tamed my hair enough to hide my clumsiness, except that right after I came in from the pool, I got the bright idea of cleaning the bathrooms in the hottest part of the day. Even with the A/C going, the body heat I was generating, plus hot water running in the shower to clean it, equaled MASSIVELY FRIZZY HAIR.

Once Wizard got home it only took him a few minutes to realize I’d been in the pool. And then I ultimately confessed I fell off the raft because neither one of us is good at keeping secrets from the other. My mishap cracked him up.  Especially since he falls off all the time when he tries to get on the rafts, and I tease him about it.

Karma obviously dunked me :-)

Today, I’m setting goals and kicking my butt into writing mode. How was your weekend?

First off, totally jealous of your pool. Yeah, I live around a lot of water, but I’ve never gone swimming in the lake. (Loads of fish hooks and other garbage. Meh.) Love love love your frames and how you’ve got them set up. So pretty. Don’t get me started on frizzy hair. I gave up trying to tame this right now. Blow it dry, make it look nice, step outside and in seconds, it looks like a massive case of bedhead.

The weekend was quiet here. The usual stuffs – walking, reading, watching TV. I think you already saw on FB that I made granola bars. So yummy. Today is gray and gloomy and wet. Ought to be a good day to write – if I can get out of my own way.

LOVE the frames! They turned out awesome. I have the opposite problem. My hair is totally straight so any humidity or wet? Yeah, flat hair.

NYC was a crazy time but Only and I had a blast. I came back a couple pounds less than when I left so yay! I will get stuffs posted about the trip eventually.

I gotta work today. I’m down to the last 4K words and then I need to edit. I promised CG he’d have the MS by the end of the week. Gotta get it done because other projects and deadlines need attention.

Loki and Jake were funny while I was gone, according to Lawyer Guy. He had fun with Stormy with a sleepover Saturday night, giving Baseball Boy a break. They met in the cell phone lot to exchange Stormy and to pick Only and I up when we arrived at the airport.

Did I mention Only and I had a blast in NYC? I have the most awesome of daughters!

Okay. I gotta get the rest of stuff caught up so I can get new words. Later, gators!

I love the fun loving photos and the frames are a perfect fit. Turbo looks so sweet in the center position too :). You and Wizard did a great job.

My hair doesn’t frizz but I can certainly relate to the cleaning bathrooms adding to a hair disaster. The steam from cleaning is one thing but I always get dribbled on from above ;).

You had to know that the moment you put your hair up before entering the pool that “something” would happen. It never fails for me. Whenever I want to keep my hair dry, it always gets wet. Good thing only Maggie witnessed the falling off the raft. She won’t tell, will she ;)?

I really hope it cools down for you soon.

Got my hair done today :)!

    Have a great afternoon!

B.E., I don’t swim in the lake in my town either, so I get that. You may have frizzier hair than me, but dang, it’s annoying. Thanks on the frames :-)

I did see your granola bars! They looked delicious, although I’d leave out the coconut for personal preference. Sorry for the gloomy day, I hope it helps you write! I lost my day to dealing with get insurance appraisal on the car, and fighting with my cranky washer plus the usual Monday stuff. But back to you–I bet you got some works out!

    Happy Monday!

Silver! Great to have you back! I saw two pics on FB, and you looked fabulous! I’m so happy you and Only had a great time! And yeah, you do have a great daughter :-)

Thanks on the frames. We wanted to brighten up that wall a little.

Sounds like LG had a lot of laughs while you were gone between the critters and Stormy. He’s a brave man having him overnight alone, LOL! Bet he was nearly as tired as you and Only!

You may have mentioned how wonderful the trip was, and it, and that your daughter made it truly special, but it’s worth saying again!

Go write, write, write! You’re so close to the end!

Viki, Turbo was about 9 months in that photo, and he was sweet. He’s still sweet, just a very busy sweet :-) Thanks on the frames, we have a lot of fun with our little projects.

I get splashed when cleaning bathrooms too! And I’ve been known to spill cleaners on myself.

This was the one time I didn’t expect to fall, so I was pretty shocked. Maggie would rat me out if Wizard offered her a bribe, LOL! Well maybe not, that little dog is extremely loyal to me :-) And yeah, most of the time I want to keep my hair dry, something happens–especially if my mischievous sons are around!

I hope it cools down too, but it doesn’t look like that’s happening anytime soon.

I bet you look fabulous with your new done hair! Happy Monday!
