Weekend Roundup

Happy Monday! The weekend was a good, but dizzying, whirlwind. I got to do most everything I wanted to do, except go watch Turbo at his swim lessons. I’ll do that next weekend. Anyhow, we helped Youngest with the move, and both he and his fiance are pretty well settled in their beautiful new home. For the record, my soon to be daughter-in-law and I put a bed frame together, and set up the bed on our own. We don’t need boys and we told them that! We got the guest room all set up without any help from them.

Sunday, the family all went over, Turbo (my grandson), was the first one in the pool (with his dad and uncle)! Turbo definitely approves of the pool. They have a really nice backyard to have family and friends over to hang out in.

On Saturday, I cooked, and I made two different batches of cookies while Wizard was back at Youngest’s house helping him with things like changing locks.
After he got home, we went to Biker Witch and Biker Hubby’s house. Biker Witch is doing much better now. It’s been a month since her surgery, and while she has a way to go, she’s definitely feeling better than she was and making solid progress. Maggie went with us, and she was thrilled that Biker Hubby bought Maggie her very own special box of small treats.

I think they gave her about 10 of them, LOL! But they were really small treats, so that’s okay.

They also had a great surprise for Wizard–his very favorite boysenberry pie. Wizard and Maggie are both seriously spoiled :-)

Today, the washing machine guy is coming to install a new timer that we hope will solve the spin problem, and I’m hoping I’ll manage to get at least a couple of hours of work in.

How was your weekend?

Glad you had a nice, if busy, weekend. Yay for Youngest getting moved! Yay for Biker Witch on the road to recovery! Yay for Maggie treats! And boysenberry pie (totally jealous, of course). Fingers crossed this fixes your washing machine.

The weekend was pretty much like every weekend around here. Nothing new or exciting (which is good sometimes, if boring). Hubs mowed the lawn and I made cornbread. And that was the most excitement we had all weekend.

Good job on putting the bed together. Sounds like you had a very busy weekend but a fun one too.

Glad Turbo liked the pool. It now has his seal of approval :).

Good to hear that Biker Witch is coming along nicely. Biker Hubby sure scored big points with Maggie ;).

You guys really got a treat with my favorite pie too. My grandma always made me one for my birthday. I’d pick the boysenberries from the yard and clean them and she’d make me a pie and some tarts. Yes, I was very spoiled by that incredible woman.

Let us know how the washing machine turns out. It will take a few cycles won’t it before you know for sure if the timer was the problem.

My dinner was nice Saturday. Though Harrison was not well behaved. I thought it would be a good place for him because he could walk around and do things. Unfortunately he didn’t nap and was crabby and threw everything he got his hands on. This woman two tables away ended up with his pacifier under her chair. The glare she gave a 21 month old was disgusting. You would have thought he was a teenager that spit in her plate. Middle DIL mouthed “what is wrong with you?” to the woman. They left.

Today was mammogram day. All looks good so far. It’s been 13 years. Just keeping a positive outlook.

    Hope you’re having a great day :)!

Yay for family time and treats! Best news on the Biker Family! Crossing fingers on the washing machine.

B.E., boring is not a bad thing. Just sayin’! ;)

Viki! Awesome on the mammogram! Definite reason to keep a positive outlook! 💕

There was a weekend, wasn’t there… We had tree crew over to remove the tree (branch the size of a tree) from the roof. Only a tiny bit of structural damage and the roofer is coming something this week to check shingles.

Jake escaped during the noise. Caught him after he ran UNDER LG’s truck–parked in the middle of the street as we tried to coax him INSIDE the truck to go for a ride. Long story.

Stormy came for dinner and to spend the night. Right before bedtime, he walked up to me, put his hands on my feet (they were propped on the ottoman) and said in a very ernest tone, “Jammie, can we have bacon and eggs for breakfast?” Guess who got up and cooked bacon and eggs? He also got up, washed up, brushed his teeth, and dressed in his church clothes (his parents packed them just in case they decided to go–the playground of his new school was being dedicated)–all without waking Big Daddy or me. That kid!

Sunday. I worked. I’m almost done with updating all the Nightrider books for wide distribution. I hope to finish by tomorrow morning. Then I’ll get them uploaded to D2D and new verions back on Amazon tomorrow or Wednesday. That leaves me Thursday and Friday to format #3 and #4 for print. Only needs the page count to do the covers. Oh….yeah…that’s looking ahead. Suffice it to say, I worked Sunday.

    Have a great week everyone!

B.E., you’re never boring. Your weekend sounds like a good one! I’m going to make cornbread sometime this fall, it sounds delicious and I don’t think I’ve ever made it from scratch.

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Viki, do you know I’ve never picked berries? I should try it sometime!

I already know the washing machine isn’t fixed. Sigh. We’ll just endure it for now. It’s a small aggravation.

Okay, you choose a family restaurant specifically for Harrison. Sure, a cranky toddler doesn’t add to the enjoyment of a meal, but that kind of attitude from that lady is just ugly. I’m really sorry you all had to endure that when you were already trying to soothe a tired child while celebrating your birthday :-( Some people are just born mean, or have no empathy.

Great news on your early mammogram results! I’m speculating that it’ll get a closer, more studied look too. 13 years is really positive!

    Happy Monday!

Whoa, Silver, you had a busy, packed weekend! Glad the tree limb has been removed, and sorry there was some damage–even minimal.

Poor Jake! That had to be loud and really scary crash when the limb broke off and hit the roof. I don’t blame him!

Stormy is so cute! What an amazing boy to get up and do all that by himself. He sure is growing up. And of course you made him his requested breakfast!

Wow you got a lot done even with all the crazy happening at your house. Go Silver!

Hope Monday is treating you right :-)
