Maggie Has Something To Say

Hi guys, it’s me, Maggie!

I’m here to set the record straight. On Monday my mom told a story…and guys…she made it sound like I’m some sort of crazed lizard killer-plus-eater. That’s totally an exaggeration. I mean, yeah, I’m super good at playing hide-and-seek and chase with my lizard friends. And I catch them in my mouth because I don’t have any thumbs or hands, so duh, how else would I catch them? But I don’t eat them.

That’s why I’m here to show you all the real story that I’m a really good girl. A picture is worth a thousand words, right? This is me on my special mat where I wait while mom or Wizard-dad makes my dinner.

And sometimes, when they don’t remember how to tell time, I sit on the mat to remind them that it’s time for dinner.

Now would a crazed lizard killer-plus-eater do that? And notice that my mom didn’t post any pictures, so clearly, I’m giving you a much more accurate story, am I right?

Thanks for letting me set the record straight!

You truly have been wronged, Maggie. You’re such a good girl. Look how good you are sitting on your mat. The soul of decorum and patience. Your lizard friend was just playing dead as part of the game. It’s a shame he can’t step up and explain that to your mom.

Maggie, you are a very good girl. We are on your side because the feel the same way about possums. And we all know that possums like to play dead! Mom and Dad yell at us to “Put them down!” and then they wrap them up in plastic bags and take them to where Mom leaves the trash can for the big, noisy truck. Usually the possums are gone the next morning so we get to play with them again. So we get you, girl! You stand up for your good-girl self.

(And yeah, we get that whole no opposable thumbs thing! Totally not fair!)

You are a very good girl Maggie. I believe your account of the lizard cardio. You have to give your mom a break though. She was truly worried that the lizard may have had a heart attack. You do do a fantastic job keeping the lizard at bay. Very good girl.

You are so very nice to kindly sit on your rug to remind mom and Wizard dad when time has slipped away from them and your dinner is late. My cat lets me know when I fall behind by fetching me and trying to lead me to his bowl. He’s nice about it too. You’er both very good fur kids.

Have a good day and say “hi” to your mom for me.💕.

Jake & Boone, you’re obviously smart dogs! And probably very brave chasing possums! I think you both should get extra treats tonight.

Viki, thank you! I try real hard. I also try to be understanding of my mom’s human limitations but sometimes, I just have to correct her.

Cats are smart too. When I take Mom for a walk, I show her how I don’t turn my back on Corner Cat. Nope, I surely don’t, cause not only are cats smart, but they can sneaky stealth Ninja attack.

I totally believe your kitty politely helps you remember meal times!
