Friday Five
Wow I’m tired! It’s been a good week, just somehow busy. Let’s jump right into sharing five random things about our week. Here’s mine:
- The weather has cooled a bit so we haven’t had to run the air for a few days. Love it!
- I’ve written a bit this week, and can see slow but definite improvement in my concentration. I don’t want to jinx it though so enough said.
- We spent yesterday with out-of-state old friends that we see about once a decade. It was fantastic to see them! We went to lunch on the patio of a winery in Temecula, then visited a couple other wineries, and ended our day having some wine and a cheese plate on the patio of the final winery. We saved the best winery for last, and it was lovely up there on the patio overlooking the hills in 80 degree weather. It was a wonderful day, with perfect weather and great friends.
- Poor Wizard was once again our designated driver. Which meant I was the designated watchdog (NAG!! ) to make sure he only had a few sips of wine. Wizard is such a good sport about being the DD. And I just have to say, these days, we leave Maggie for about six hours alone in the house and she’s absolutely fine. I really appreciate that, overall, she’s such a low maintenance dog.
- This weekend…stuff is going on because it always is

Yay for having a good week!
1) The writing hasn’t gone so well this week, but I did think of a new story idea and an awesome title. Unfortunately, the idea and the title do not go together. =op
2) We had two bucks in the yard yesterday. It’s the first time we’ve seen bucks without velvet on their antlers this year. The rut is coming.
3) I saw a copperhead on my walk the other day. Lucky for me, it was dead. And the next time I walked, it was gone. I expect one of the other critters got a free meal.
4) We’re finally supposed to get a break in the heat today. It’s only supposed to get up to 80. ‘Bout time. I’m so over summer.
5) I need to make a batch of granola bars today. Hubs goes through about two bars a day, so a batch lasts about 8 days. Lucky they’re easy to make and they’re good for you. =o)

Yay for good weeks, good friends, good wine, and a good dog! I had a week. I’ll try to find 5 things that are even remotely interesting.
1) We had a little rain this morning. Like B.E., I’m sooo done with summer. I need Fall, STAT!
2) Loki keeps trying to get Adidas to play with him. He really needs another kitten friend but poor old Boone would totally freak out.
3) I’m so behind on everything. Thinking about it just makes my head hurt. I think I’ll get some more coffee and stare out the window until the stuff all goes away.
4) I should refill the hummingbird feeder but I haven’t seen any for a day or so. They were late to arrive and I’m wondering if they left early.
5) Live PD is back with a new season tonight! Yayayay! Something to watch since my Cards play this afternoon. They came back to win in 10 innings, after being up 4-1 going into the bottom of the 9th. The Cubs tied it up and then Matt Carpenter hit a home run in the top of the 10th and the Cards’ bullpen held the Cubs.
See? Boring life. 🤣

3. Sounds like a wonderful visit with friends yesterday. Going to the wineries was a nice touch too. Saving the best for last :).
4. Poor Wizard. He’s so nice being the DD. You are not a nag.
5. Totally get the weekend stuff ;).
1a. Still don’t have the generator monitoring on WiFi. I have no idea what’s going on. My devices show there is WiFi but nothing can connect. It’s not all the time either.
2a. Went a built my new car. I’ll probable order it next week.
3a. Hubs says I can get an iphone11. He and youngest are getting the iphone11 pro. They’re waiting until November. Hubs says I should go now. I have a 6s and they have 8+.
4a. May go with Harrison to see Jurassic park dino exhibit on Sunday. Haven’t committed yet.
5a. Allergies have been SO BAD. I’m taking drugs like crazy. I had taken myself off of all the allergy meds 10 years ago and have suffered rather than start up again. But I just can’t do it right now. The ragweed is horrendous.
I hope you have a fantastic weekend and get all that weekend stuff done. Maybe get some Turbo time in as well :).

B.E, let’s jump right into your five:
1) Snort!! Okay story concepts and titles are great, but it was have been better if they went together. Why can’t ideas organize themselves before appearing in our brains?
2) I’m so tired today, I first read “two bucks” as in “two dollars” and trying to figure out how they got in your yard. #Coffeefail!
3) Nope. Just nope. Snakes and I belong in different zipcodes at all times.
4) Summer needs to take the hint and leave.
5) Win Win with good for you and easy to make.

Silver, you’re always interesting!
1) We need a spell to summon fall! Hope the rain was just enough.
2) Loki seems to find plenty of ways to entertain himself…and us!
3) If that works, send me this spell, I needs it!
4) I saw a hummingbird at a winery yesterday, but that doesn’t really answer your question since you’re in OK
5) Live PD and Baseball is a full day for you!

Viki, I wasn’t just nagging Wizard, I was dumping the tastings before he could sip, LOL! I gave him ones I thought he’d be interested in buying. It cracked up our friends
But Wizard didn’t mind, and I didn’t say a word when he had a small glass of a really good blend with the assorted cheese and yummy munchies plate. In truth, he self regulates really well. Okay now for you!
1) WTH is going on with your wifi? Or is it your phone? I don’t get it either.
Well except on wine lately, sheesh.
2) Yay on ordering a new car! Wizard has new car fever, but I’m letting him suffer, LOL! Although he once again promised me any French bulldog puppy if I let him buy the expensive Mustang. We’re both all talk and no spend types
3) And a new iPhone 11!!! Wow!! Now thats exciting. Cars are nice, but phones rock my world a little more. And we use them all day long!
4) Harrison! I’d love to hear about it if you go with him to Jurassic Park exhibit
5) I’m so sorry you’re being attacked by allergies! I had no idea how bad they felt until after I had kids and developed them. Awful! Do what you have to do to get through your days.
