Weekend Roundup

My weekend must have been on steroids :-)

So Friday night, Youngest Son texted and asked if I was coming by on Saturday. I told him yes, I was bringing him cookies. My sneaky boy then casually said, “Great! And if you want you can help me paint.”

Yep, I was totally set up! And of course I did it since Youngest is technically still on the injured list with his sliced up hand. So Saturday, I made breakfast, then baked cookies, and got to Youngest Son’s by 10:30 am. We painted a couple of living room walls while his fiance was at work. By the way, she’d painted two other walls all by herself the day before! I finished up some trim work on those walls then moved onto the other two walls. It’s fun to help out. And Wizard brought us lunch and some supplies. Then I came home and cooked dinner, watched a movie and passed out? LOL!

Sunday, Wizard went racing, and I had my soon to be daughter-in-law’s shower. My awesome, amazing sister came over early brought me a large latte. Best Latte Ever! We got to spend an hour enjoying our coffee and chatting, then we headed over to the beautiful shower. The bride’s sister and mom did the shower, and I’m so impressed with how lovely it turned out. But when I looked at my watch, four hours had gone by! I needed to get Biker Watch back to my house so she could get home. So we left but…

My car wouldn’t start. Grrr! I hate car trouble. However, my oldest son had come to pick up his wife and my other daughter-in-law, so I ran around the corner–in heels!–and caught them before they left. They jumped my car, it started and I got us home. So while it stressed me out a bit, all is fine. Tomorrow we’ll get the battery changed.

Are you all impressed I can run, okay more like slow-jog, in heels? Okay they were wedges, but still, they are high wedges and I didn’t break my ankle :-)

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

You go, girl! Rocking those heels. I’m so glad the shower turned out lovely. =o)

Another lost weekend here. I’m not even sure exactly where it went. Got some truly terrible words out. Ate food – that chocolate cake is the bomb. Went for a couple walks to try and burn off the cake. Watched the boob tube a lot. And now it’s Monday. Which reminds me, I have to turn on the work email this morning so I can see if there’s anything to do for the office. Have an awesome day!

I remember back in the day when I wore high heels every day, I was challenged to a race by one of the cops I worked with. I beat him. Of course, that was over 30 years ago because I haven’t worn heels since Only was a bulge in my belly. 🤣 I’m still impressed though! Wedges are harder to run in. *nods* Sounds like the shower was awesome and it’s so cool that your DiLs all get along/are friends and that your boys are wonderful.

I mostly took the weekend off. I watched 3-on-3 kindergarden soccer. It was…well, it was. Stormy was a bit frustrated.

Speaking of, he is now tall enough and weighs enough that he is moving from toddler car seat to a straight booster seat. Only and Baseball Boy have been warned to carry his birth certificate to all the rest of his games because coaches will question his “under 6” status.

It was a good weekend for sports.

I napped. Listened to books. Blew off the world. Gonna be paying for it today and the rest of this week. Yippee. Not!

Here’s to a good and productive week for all of us!

I can easily see you running in heels/wedges. You keep fit.

Did you and Wizard figure out why your car wouldn’t start? I hope it was an easy and inexpensive fix.

BLB got you ;). Kids are too sneaky and we moms fall for it every time. What type of cookies did you make?
Glad you had the best latte ever with Biker Witch. That’s how I felt about my iced mocha with my girlfriend last Tuesday ;).

It must have been a really great shower for 4 hours to fly by so fast. Glad you had a great time.

We took Harrison and his parents out to Long Horn Steakhouse Saturday (Cassie’s request). I now know why we have never been there. The service was awful. The food wasn’t bad but was over priced. Since we pay the bill, I will not allow us to go there again. Money is better spent other places.

Harrison was a hoot. As soon as he saw Grandpa he wanted out of the highchair. No way. So he just kept complaining that he was shtuk (stuck). It was funny.

Well the heat and humidity are back and breaking records. I wish Fall would get here already.

    Have a great afternoon!

B.E., I get lost weekend–today is a lost day for me. Getting any words out is always a step in the right direction. And yep, chocolate cake is always good :-)

Hope your week is off to a good start.

Silver, you must have been amazing in heels! I’m a little surprised, but I was determined to catch my son before they left.

I remember kindergarten soccer. They are pretty much a beehive :-)

I bet Stormy loves the toddler seat car seat! It’s sad that we have to prove things like our kids age in kids sports, but then, we all probably know the parents who game the system. We ran into that stuff in Little League.

I hope your week started off productive! I’m pretty much useless today, but I’ll bounce back tomorrow.

Viki, thanks, but I’m not as fit as I could be. I can’t seem to keep up these days.

It was the battery, and we had it replaced for free under the warranty so that’s good. And they checked the alternator just in case, but it’s fine so we should be good to go.

Sorry about dinner, or at least the service, being a disappointment. It’s even worse when you have a toddler with you! But Harrison was busy being too cute :-) He clearly adores his grandpa!

We finally had some cool days here with a mild warm up coming. I hope fall weather finds it’s way to you ASAP!

    Happy Monday!
