Weekend Update

Friday Biker Witch and I went to lunch to celebrate her birthday. We ate at cheesecake factory and mostly window shopped. I made a regrettable decision to order chocolate mousse cheesecake and eat more than half of it. It was delicious but anytime I eat that kind of heavy cream dessert, but stomach waits about 24 hours and them springs revenge on me.

My stomach is rude. Just saying.

Also, I’m an idiot. But hanging out and eating with Biker Witch is always fun!

Saturday and Sunday were all about Turbo and a success! Turbo came, he spent the night and went home healthy, happy and tired. We honestly had a delightful time with him. His very smart parents brought all the right things, including his car track and Legos, which we set up in the living room and we played in there for hours. Turbo even slept through the night. It took awhile to get him to go to sleep, but I don’t mind that.  I just didn’t want him to wake at 2am and be scared because his mom or dad wasn’t there with him.

He will be coming for a second overnight visit in two weeks. More exhausting fun ahead! And now, even if he does have a difficult night, he’ll be more familiar with waking up to Grandma and Grandpa.

Today I’ll probably skip the gym and get back to writing. It’s going to be a semi-busy week but I should have time to work.

How was your weekend?

I hope Biker Witch had an amazing birthday! Bummer about the cheesecake attack. I hate when food sneaks up and ambushes me. (A function of aging, I think, which makes me hate it even more.) Yay for fun Turbo Time! And yay for finding time to work!

The weekend was pretty quiet here. Friday I made oatmeal cookies and yesterday I made granola bars. We are full-up on those now. Yesterday, it rained all day. All day. We ended up with just over 4 inches. The yard looked like a river at one point. It’s all downhill, though, so the water left pretty quickly. Right now, the lake is low enough we shouldn’t see any flooding. Other than that, baseball playoffs, Live PD, and reading.

Yay for Turbo Time! We keep toys for Stormy here. Saves transporting them back and forth. :) Yay for fun times with Biker Witch even though your tummy is rude.

Stormy scored two goals at his soccer game. They come on kick-offs. He kicked it through the opposing team’s line and it rolled all the way into the goal net. Twice. He also kicked the ball taking it away from the other team and it hit an opposing team player in the face with made the little boy cry, which upset Liam. Kids are so sweet at that age!

We had pancakes and Mexican food. I’m lucky I didn’t gain back all the weight I’d lost lately–just a couple of poinds.

Our weather finally cooled off and long-range forecast remains cool so I switched over to “winter” bedding. It fell good to snuggle under the thick microfiber comforter last night.

And…that’s about it for me. Good luck with the writing this week!

I am so glad you all had such a wonderful weekend. Little people are so full of energy. Did you and Wizard just crash and recover today ;)? I think it’s hilarious how hubs is always crashed on the couch by 7 on days he watches Harrison.

Sounds like you and Biker Witch had a nice day. I am sorry that your tummy was mean to you after you gave it such a yummy treat. But like you said, some times we have to pay.

Our weekend was not a fun one but that’s okay. Next Saturday we’re celebrating Harrison’s 2 nd birthday. It will be two days early so we get to celebrate twice :).

My middle son and DIL’s tiny cat, Muffin, is very ill. They spent all weekend at emergency vets with her. She is vomiting and not eating or drinking. She’s had 4 IV’s and the vet has no explanation. DIL just took her to another vet today. I hope this one has a solution. Muffin is their baby.

I hope you have a great afternoon!

B.E., Turbo time really meant a lot to us–these years will pass so quickly. True that aging is hard on digestion, LOL! Mine is partly just food sensitivity I’ve always had too. And I did get some words and more worries on work, but that’s the job :-)

You’re a dedicated baker these days! I would love to bake more, but I just eat more that way.

That’s a lot of rain! Hopefully you won’t reach flooding stage this year.

Sounds like it was a good weekend overall.

Silver, it’s smart to have toys in both places. We do have some here, but Special K wanted to bring some of his things that were familiar to him. That turned out to be a brilliant idea too.

Yay for cooler weather and cozier nights! We’re back to some heat here.

    Happy Monday!

Stormy is definitely advanced in soccer! Go Stormy! But he’s also a very sweet boy who doesn’t want to hurt other kids feelings. He’s obviously has the character of a real champion who loves the game but not meanness, and I love that!

Glad the pancake breakfast and Mexican food lunch with fam turned out well. Regaining weight is an unfortunate side effect, and glad you avoided that. (I hope losing a couple pounds was intentional and not stress related)

Viki, yep, we crashed, LOL! Wizard went to bed really early and I wasn’t for behind him. But we feel good today and we ended up going to the gym.

I’m so sorry you’re weekend wasn’t good. Did the second vet figure out the problem with Muffin? I hate it when animals are sick and they can’t tell us what hurts. I hope Muffin recovers. I really feel for you middle son and his wife.

Harrison is going to be 2??? WOW! Time is flying by. I hope next Saturday is a super fun day celebrating his birthday!

And I hope the week is better than your weekend.
