Weekend Roundup

It’s been a damp and dreary weekend, but Maggie knows exactly how to deal with the weather:

Full Disclosure: I stole this pic from Wizard’s FB :-)

I put on my Santa hat and got a lot of Christmas shopping and planning done, and for one long trip to do an errand, I took Maggie with me. She gets super excited when she figures out she’s going in the car. It’s hilarious to watch her try to sit, but she’s so excited, she dances her front paws and wiggles until I get the leash on her. Her butt’s on the ground though, so she’s technically sitting. She’s such a happy dog most of the time.

I’m planning to make some breads as gifts this week, including trying B.E.’s Apple Cranberry bread, unless I can’t find the ingredients I need, then I’ll switch to orange cranberry bread because I can use frozen cranberries for that. I keep changing my mind on what to take to the family party this weekend. I’m not feeling Grinchy, just not as inspired as I usually am.

Also, I need to clean my oven, LOL! I may do that soon…like today. Maybe.

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Ooo, your fireplace is so pretty! And Maggie’s definitely got the right idea. If we had a fireplace, I’d be curled up in front of it, too. LOL, I can totally imagine Maggie getting ready for a road trip. Yay for baking! Our Walmart has bags of fresh cranberries over by the strawberries in the produce section. I hope you can find them near you, too. Good luck cleaning your oven! You’re a better woman than I.

The weekend here was a blur. We did a lot of raking. I did some baking and got the first of my packages out. It’s the Kid’s package, so I try to get hers there plenty early. This week, the Moms’ packages will be in the mail, too. Then I’ll be done with Christmas stuff except for the actual holiday. Oh, crap, I forgot about the cards. Have to get those done today, too. If I had your address, I’d send you a card, too. I love Christmas cards.

Awww! Sweet Maggie. Yay on you being productive. And I totally feel you on the non-inspired front.

We did Santa pictures as the post on Saturday with the pancake breakfast. It was fun and Only is a heckava photographer. She even had her little photo printer there and had frame cards to put the photos in and everything. All proceeds was donated to the local children’s long-term care/rehab center. Was worn out by early start to the busy morning so LG and I came home and crashed. We woke up for dinner, crashed again. Sunday I made Stormy’s Christmas pageant costume. Gotta fix it today. Was off on sizes.

And that was pretty much my weekend. Gonna be a crazy week and I need to get off the internet so I can get started.

Maggie is one smart dog. She has the prime location :).

I can easily picture Maggie getting all excited to go for a ride. It’s so cute how dogs love to travel with us.

Good job on all you got done this weekend for Christmas. Making the breads and other baked goods to give as gifts is a very nice and personal thing to do. I love when people make us stuff :).

I often feel the same way you described. I’m just not into it most of the time. But, when I see how excited Harrison got over the tree and the train around the tree I get some of the spirit back.

I got 1/2 the cards done yesterday. Will finish up tomorrow and mail them Wednesday. That will make me feel much better.

So I got all ticked off yesterday. I ordered all the gifts last Monday and Tuesday. Over Sat/Sun night Amazon emailed me that one shipment of 4 items wasn’t going to ship until around Jan 16 and Feb 3rd. I blew a gasket. Canceled the order. Now I’m stuck. Will work it all out but I thought I was set :(.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

B.E, my oven is self-cleaning so it’s as big a chore as it could be. But I’m stuck waiting for it to be done, and I have to scrub the racks. That’s tough on my hands. Still self-cleaning definitely helps!

The Walmart in my town doesn’t have a produce section, but I can probably find them at other stores in town. I’ll try!

I’m very impressed with all your baking and mailing gifts! I’m only making breads for family I’m going to see, so it’s much easier to deliver them. It will mean all the more than you packaged them up and mailed them!

Cards are a big project! If you want my address, I’ll email it to you (I should have it in my gmail, I think). But I’ve run out of cards so I can’t reciprocate :-(

You guys do a lot of raking!

    Happy Monday!

Silver, well uninspired is better than cranky grinch which I’ve been a time or two in the past when I try to do too much (usually my own fault!).

What a great fundraiser! And so cool of your daughter to contribute her talent as a photographer. I love it! And then you made Stormy’s pageant costume–that’s a LOT for a weekend! Hope the size issue is an easy fix.

Hope your week hasn’t started off too crazy!

Viki, I’m just doing the gifts for family, so it’s not a lot of pressure and I enjoy it.

Maggie makes me happy, even if she does tie us down a bit :-)

Awww, every time I think of Harrison so excited over his train, it makes me smile too. That should be a Christmas commercial with all the right feels of what the holiday should be.

    Turbo definitely inspires me too.

1/2 the cards is a great start. I imagine you’re letting your hands rest a day or two before finishing up. That’s what I used to do before Wizard talked me into going the easier route.

Oh man, I’d be furious too about the gifts!! I had one of mine delayed so far, but it was for Maggie, so not a stresser like yours. I’m hearing Amazon is having some delivery issues and it’s very frustrating when they “promise” delivery. I hope you can come up with alternatives that are satisfactory.

My day’s pretty good, even if I am cleaning the oven. At least I got to the gym, so that’s a win. Hope your day is going well too!

Please email it to me – besanderson at gmail dot com. No reciprocation needed. I just like sending cards and thinking about people being happy receiving them. =o)
