Weekend Roundup

Friday, I finally gave up and went on the allergy medication Claritin for a few days. The good news is the meds tamed my allergies. But my eyes are all gritty-cranky. Contacts and dry eyes from antihistamines don’t mix well! But overall that’s a minor side effect that I can handle with drops or wearing my glasses. I’m just happy my allergies are calming down.

So not much to talk about my weekend. Saturday, we had fun hanging out with Turbo! Sunday, I did some boring stuff.

Today is the gym, and then I’m officially and finally getting back to writing. No excuses! It will take me a little time to get back into the book and hit my stride, but it’s time to plant my butt in the chair and write.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Lack of allergy symptoms is worth some dry eyes. Saw a drone video taken by a guy in Austin. The cedar trees were blowing their pollen and it looked like smoke or fog. Crazy! Yay for getting back to writing after the gym and bigger yay for Turbo time!

Saturday was busy-busy, Pancake breakfast, siren test, family lunch at fav Mexican restaurant. We took Jake in his service dog vest. He hadn’t been introduced to a restaurant before. He did awesome!

Yesterday, I did the final pass on FIGHTING FOR ELENA and updated the back matter. Have the cover now and waiting on the designer to send the graphic teasers she’s creating. Release day is Feb. 18 and it should be up for preorder a month in advance.

Stormy is coming for the day. Baseball Boy is back in school and Stormy’s school doesn’t go back until tomorrow. Jammie time! While I’m playing with him, I’m going to try to decide which project to finish next.

    Have a great week!

Yay for tamping down the allergies! Sorry about the dry eyes, but Silver’s right. A boring weekend is a good thing. Nice, relaxing. Yay for the gym and getting back to writing. You can do this!

Not much going on around here. Loads of honey-dos becoming honey-dones. Heard from the Kid. She’s starting her full-time, non-traditional student thing at Eastern Michigan University today. The last piece she was waiting for was having housing and she moved into her on-campus dorm/apartment thing yesterday, so it’s all a go. She’s already taken all her core courses at a community college. This should be mostly working on her degree now. Other than that, things are here are quiet.

I am so sorry that the allergies nailed you so bad. I don’t wear contacts but I can’t imagine even trying to wear them when allergies kick in. Smart to get on the Claritin to get relief. If you need glasses full time wear them instead of contacts.

Fun Saturday with Turbo, always a plus :).

Hope you got to the gym and had a nice workout.

My weekend was nothing fun. I was still coughing like crazy so I stayed away from people. I did do some heavy cleaning and a little more today. I want to find all the dust bunnies in my house and remove them this month. Hefty goal, I know ;).

    Have a great afternoon!

Silver, you’re so right, I’ll take dry eyes over allergies any day.

You had a super busy weekend! Hope it was all fun, and Kudos to Jake for doing so well in a restaurant.

It’s a ton of work–a thousand details–to get the book finished and ready to publish. But you’re almost there!!! Great job!

Hope you had fun with Stormy today and found the time to make a decision on which project to tackle next!

B.E., thanks, today was about what I expected–fighting the trees to see the forest, but I will do it.

Getting things done is always good. And congrats to your daughter on taking this next step! How exciting. FYI I’m a huge believer in community college. My kids all started there and made their way into the university system. It worked out really well for them and it will for your kid too :-)

Hope your Monday is going well.

Viki, I have glasses and have been wearing them at night. I see better in contacts, but allergy relief is worth the minor inconvenience.

I had a really good workout today, thanks!

Oh no, I’m sorry you had less than fun weekend dealing with the cough. I know someone else dogged by the cough and it’s pretty miserable.

Good luck on your dust bunny hunt, LOL! Hey, it’s a worthy goal :-)

Hope you’re able to kick that cough soon!
