It’s pretty crazy out there, isn’t it?
I went to FOUR FREAKING STORES yesterday and got enough, but not all I need. Fortunately, I keep a few things on hand in case of an earthquake like bottled water (not necessary for this virus–I’m fine with tap water), some toilet paper, rice, peanut butter, but still…this is like nothing I’ve seen. It really is a strange feeling to see so many completely empty shelves. Target had to rows of naked shelves where they normally have toilet paper and paper towels.
But you know what? It makes me grateful that I’ve grown up and raised my kids in a country where I can bitch because the store is out of my favorite brand of bread. Yesterday–there was no bread, no pasta, no rice, no eggs, only very expensive steak (I found one package of 2 small steaks for $18.00) but no ground meat and very little chicken. I kept my patience and sense of humor.
Let’s all cast a spell this hoarding hysteria will calm. It’s not helping.
My city is doing some prepared frozen meals for seniors, I’ve asked if they need volunteers and am waiting to hear from them. We can source enough food for ourselves and be fine, but some people simply can’t. Those are the ones I’m concerned about.
Deep breath, we’ll all get through this. The financial impact is very worrisome for so many people and businesses, but these are the times we find ourselves in so let’s just try to help one another.
Now onto books. I’m really enjoying Silver Jame’s Fighting For Elena! I’m about 3/4s of the way though and think I’ll finish it in the morning when I try to set aside at least 2o minutes of reading time.
What are you reading to take your mind of this world’s problems?

Awww! TURBO!!!! 💖💕💖 I bet he loves his 3-wheeler!
The world has gone mad. We’re stocked but for dog and cat kibble and Diet Cokes. I figure I can get those any time. And once this first wave of panic levels out, shelves will go back to normal. We also plan on doing take-out fairly often to help our local small restaurants that are only allowed to serve take out/drive thru. I worry about the small businesses.
We also have a few older-than-us folks that we are checking on daily in case they need something.

Jennifer Estep’s CRUSH THE KING is sitting in my Audible app but I want to relisten to the first two books and I’m not sure I’m in the mood. At the moment, I’m doing a re-listen of the In Death series. Everyone knows NAKED IN DEATH is my chicken soup book and the series is one that I have in paper, digital, and audio because I can reread/listen to these books numerous times. I’m about to finish #3, IMMORTAL IN DEATH and I’ll likely roll over to the next, RAPTURE IN DEATH. We’ll see once I finish IMMORTAL and get some actual work done.
Hang in there everyone. This, too, shall pass. Hopefully sooner than later.

Yay for Turbo! He makes me smile, and we all need a little smiling these days, eh? Yay for reading! I started a new suspense this morning. We’ll see how it goes before I start throwing titles around.
I also made a chocolate oil cake. And it doesn’t require eggs, which I can’t find on the shelves right now. I might have a line on a gal who has chickens, who might be able to hook me up, but chances are she’s already hooking other people up. Later or tomorrow, I’ll make biscuits, because hey, biscuits. Reading and baking are keeping my mind off the crazies right now.

I love Turbo’s trike. I bet he has so much fun racing around on it crashing into stuff (Harrison loves to crash into things). Great gift. You had me laugh about the tent. I got Harrison a Batcave tent for his 2nd birthday :).
It is so crazy out in the world. I’m glad you got most of what you need. Youngest is going to the store after work tonight to bring home milk. I hope he’s successful. The last time I was a the store, one of the greedy people had 20 gallons of milk along with another cart full of groceries. So RUDE!
I hope you are able to help out in your city. There is almost total lock down here. They aren’t mandating we stay home but they’ve closed everything including BMV. They’re getting an extension for all people whose drivers licenses expire after today.
Well, I’m off to work on dinner. I pray everyone stays healthy and this passes ASAP.

Silver, I finished your book early this morning, and enjoyed it! Great job! Even more impressive doing it in that world’s characters and rules with the crossover to your worlds. I’ve been so distracted by life, it was the perfect break.

The world has gone temporarily (I hope) insane. I hope you can find pet food. All the dried dog food was gone in two of the stores I went to yesterday. I already had enough for Maggie, I was looking for something else, and just shook my head. They all had plenty of Diet Coke, though. On the up side, nice people were helping each other in the stores, and in one store, I saw an employee assisting an elderly person find some food items.
I’m with you on small businesses. Picking up food is a good way and we’ll do that too. We may even pick up a dozen donuts we don’t want now and again just because they were there all the years my kids were growing up. Boy we sure ate their donuts in those days! It’s small but if we all do these things we can help.
I enjoyed JD Robb’s latest book so much, I want to read or listen to more!

Chocolate cake is the perfect thing for any crises! Your cake sounds delicious! I found eggs today, but it was the seventh store I went to in 2 days. I was thinking I might make my daughter in law a cake this weekend for her birthday so I desperately wanted the eggs (plus other reasons), but they are now on community lockdown so I don’t know.
Hope you can find your egg-dealer
I can’t even believe we resorting to backyard chickens and it happened so fast.
Reading and baking are great stress relievers!

Viki, yes! Turbo loves crashing into stuff too, LOL! Boys! And too funny on the tents for both our grandsons. Special K gave me the idea and it would have been so easy if the world hadn’t fallen apart. But it’s all worked out.
YIKES 20 gallons of milk? Crazy! I hope youngest can find milk for you. I found a quart yesterday and that’s all we need for wizard. I use plant milk that lasts for three months and I had it on hand.
I don’t think they want volunteers, which after I thought about it, makes sense. We’re very close to a county lockdown where we’re only allowed to go out for doctor appointments, pharmacy, jobs or food. Two of my kids are under that lock down. Almost everything aside from food stores, pharmacies have closed here too. Even my dentist is only taking emergency visits.
