Late Weekend Roundup

Sorry for the late post, I had both a website glitch and then a computer glitch. **Shrug** Not a big deal right now.

I’m reigning in my need to beg folks to comply with what medical authorities are asking us to do to slow the spread of Coronavirus. You all are smart and aware and don’t need to hear it from me. But a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who is doing their part, from staying home as much as possible to going to work in essential jobs. THANK YOU!

So…has anyone seen my concentration? I have totally lost my ability to focus. Now if anyone is looking for worry, I’ve got that in spades! Otherwise, this weekend was blah. We couldn’t see Turbo, but we got to Facetime with him and that was at least something. As for Wizard and I, we’re doing the best we can, but of course we have to shop and run essential errands.

So let’s talk about Staying Positive through this. Here’s what’s helping me:

  1. Wizard. He’s keeping a stronger more positive attitude than me, and that’s making me strive to do the same. Find someone who supports being positive and strong during scary times.
  2. Walking Maggie. Getting outside when the rain stops and just moving helps. Tons of people are out walking their dogs too, so we wave or say hello from a distance.
  3. Chocolate covered graham crackers. I used the last of my chocolate to make them, and treating ourselves now is a good thing. No guilt people, we get through this, then we can go back to worrying about the little things.
  4. Reading! I’m enjoying THE HUSBAND’S SECRET by Liane Moriarty right now. My audio book is boring and I’m not sure I can even finish it, so I won’t mention that one.
  5. Remembering we’re all in this together and this, too, shall pass.

That’s all I have at the moment. How was your weekend and do you have any stay strong tips?

Sorry for the glitches. That’s a pain. We’re mostly staying in but doing occasional take-out to help our fave small restaurants. Yesterday was Stormy’s b-day so we went up to drop off presents and share a bit of his birthday cookie.

I can’t tell that life has changed that much for me, other than all the bad news and semi-hysteria. People need to remain calm and follow instructions. I don’t get out or socialize that much anyway. We’re stocked up for at least another week, especially if we do take-out several times.

It is weird not seeing traffice out the window.

I need to get my arse in gear and get some serious writing/editing done. Having LG in the house all day has upset my sense of equilibrium. Which is nonsense on my part.

Comfort reads/listens. Doing a full-series re-listen to JD Robb’s Eve Dallas/In Death series. Chicken soup. That said, I’m pausing to listen to a book that just hit my radar and popped up in my library app, “The Library of the Unwritten (A Novel from Hell’s Library, Book 1).”

    It opens with this:
Stories want to change, and it is a librarian’s job to preserve them; that’s the natural order of things. The Unwritten Wing of the Library, for all its infinite magic and mystery, is in some ways a futile project. No story, written or unwritten, is static. Left abandoned too long and given the right stimulation, a book goes wrong in the head. It is a story’s natural ambition to wake up and start telling itself to the world.

This, of course, is a buggered pain in the arse.
Librarian Fleur Michel, 1782 CE, Unwritten Wing,
Librarian’s Log entry, Personal Ephemera and Errata

The idea that unfinished/unwritten stories and books end up in a wing of the library in Hell and might become sentient is intriguing. I’m barely into it but I’m hooked. And it might convince me to finishe all those unfinished projects.

I don’t have much to add to your list. Stay positive. Stay safe. Stay calm. Smarter people (for the most part–if they could get the politicians to shut up) than me are working on this. There’s not much else to do but wait it out. Practice self care. Get creative. Remind the people you love that you do.

Sending much 💖💕💖 to you and yours and all the witches!

I’m sorry you had issues with the site and your computer. It seems to dump in spades at times.

Good thing Wizard is staying positive. It must help you with the worry. You have a great five to help too.

I’m not so much worried about me but the rest of the family. Mostly middle and DIL on where are they going to live if they can’t finish the buy on the house. Also, Harrison just can’t understand why grandpa can’t come over and why he can’t go to the park. His parents are on each others nerves and he’s picking up on it. Not good. I may need a lawyer for justifiable homicide 😉. Yes, hubs is driving me crazy.

We will get through this – I have faith!

Silver, Happy Birthday to Stormy, and I hope he enjoyed his B-day. I know you had to cancel his party :-(. But seeing you must have helped make it a happy day.

That book sounds amazing!! I must search for it today! The into and concept really grabbed my attention.

Not really nonsense as far as having husband in the house. I got nothing done on work front today which is more about me than Wizard.

I have said the “greater/smarter minds than mine” are working on this financial crises so many times in the last days. I need to believe it’s true.

Hang in there. Times are tough, but so are we.

Viki, thanks. It was a pain and ended up stopping any work, but otherwise, not a disaster.

I can’t imagine the stress your son and daughter in law are going through. You probably can’t think of much else :-( I’m really sorry that this amazing time in their lives is marred by the financial and health meltdown. I will keep my fingers crossed it all goes through at an excellent mortgage rate for them.

Poor Harrison! It was be killing Grandpa too.

Ugh on your hubs driving you crazy. It’s not easy to have unending forced togetherness.

Faith is important! It’s part of staying positive as we all cope. Keep believing!
