Quarantine Weekend Roundup

I can sum it up in one word–boring :-)

We had as nice as possible under the circumstances Easter. We watched videos of, and video-chatted with, Turbo. Turbo mostly likes seeing Maggie when we video chat :-) He thinks watching her race up and down the stairs is hilarious. For dinner, we made tri tip, rice and green beans, and opened up another bottle of wine.

In other news, Wizard and I have agreed we’re going on a wine-tasting trip once we’re freed from this hell, uh, safe-at-home quarantine.  We rarely ever open our good wines, and this is the 2nd bottle we’ve opened in a weeks, LOL! Gotta enjoy the little things. And be grateful for the big things, like the fact that so far, we, and our family and friends, are all well and safe.

I don’t have much to share today, but I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter and we’re able to communicate with your loved ones. At least technology gives us more ways to stay in contract.

So how was your weekend?

I’m glad you had a nice Easter, or as nice as you could make it given the circumstances. :hugs: Yep, you two should definitely go on a post-chaos wine trip.

It was quiet here, like always. I called Mom and the Owl is here now, and that’s about as much family as I usually communicate with on holidays. Chaos life really isn’t that much different from normal life around here. Hubs and I took a walk. I read a lot. Watched some stuffs on the tube. Ate like a pig. So much ham. And the vanilla oil cake turned out pretty good. Better the second day when the flavors had more of a chance to meld. =o)

Yay for Turbo Time even if only by video and Face Time. We went by the Kids’ house to drop off belated b-day, Easter, and just because presents. No hugs or kisses, which sucks.

We didn’t “cook” for Easter, though I guess the ham steaks I fixed Friday night might count as “traditional.” We did our usual Sunday Chinese takeout. I napped to help make up for the weird sleep disruptions of the past several nights–odd dreams and restless animals.

Mother Nature is being bi-polar again. 60s-70s on Friday and Saturday, thunderstorms Saturday night, warm on Sunday morning and then the next front came through so freezing last night and they’re saying there’s a chance of SNOW tonight. SNOW!!! It’s the 13th of freaking APRIL, people?!?!?! 😲🤯 Still, better than what the Southeast has experienced with the tornadoes. 😢

A trip would be awesome! And it would help out some of the businesses that have had to close.

Life continues and we’re adapting to being #AloneTogether while staying home, staying safe, and staying healthy. All of ours are good and I’m hoping that here locally, we’re about to hit the apex and start down the curve. 😷

Have a good week, everyone! 🥰

I’m glad you had a nice Easter even though the family is apart. Having a nice bottle of wine with dinner must have helped ;).
Little boys, dogs and running around like crazy are so MUCH fun, especially when we’re watching not parenting  . When we have our daily facetime with Harrison I am so glad I had my kids before I was thirty. Man, do they have energy.

We had a nice Easter too. I made ham and fixings. I was the only one to have wine.

Middle and DIL got moved in and now have the fun of fixing their house.

    Have a wonderful day!

B.E., quiet when that’s your choice is a good thing :-)

I saw on FB that you liked the vanilla oil cake but thought it could use more flavoring. Glad it upped it’s game on the second day, LOL.

I’m probably the only person here who can take or leave ham. Wizard isn’t big on it either. But I’m glad you enjoyed yours!

Silver, Face-time and videos help! Glad you were able to drop off your gifts. I was going to do that for Turbo, but if he saw us, he wouldn’t understand that we could play with him, or hug him.

Chinese takeout is a good tradition!

So sorry about the sleep disruptions. Weird dreams aren’t helping, plus we just have additional stress of not really knowing what’s going to happen.

Mother Nature has lost her mind. SNOW??? I’m must shaking my head.

It does look like most states are at or close to their APEX. I’m hoping people try to cooperate and not have a major second wave and that a vaccine is developed in record time.

Hope your week is off to a good start.

Viki, wine with dinner helps, and we just try to make the best of things like everyone else is doing too.

Man you aren’t kidding about energy! We had about ten videos of Turbo yesterday and his parents are constantly on the move with him, and I’m sure it’s the same with Harrison. I’m glad I had my kids young too, I never had a problem keeping up with them and their endless mischief :-)

Sounds like a yummy traditional Easter dinner! At least you got your glass of wine even if the others abstained. There are many nights when Wizard or I don’t want wine and the other has it.

    Happy Monday!
YAY for Middle and has wife moving into their new house! That must be a huge relief for them, and so exciting!
