Weekend Roundup

I had a pretty decent weekend. Saturday, Turbo came over with his parents. It was a fun day of swimming, hamburgers and hot dogs.  Turbo and Maggie have such a cute relationship :-) They left early enough to be home with their dogs long before fireworks.

Saturday night I stayed up really late with Maggie from the fireworks. Our city normally has a big fireworks show over the lake every year. This year it was cancelled due to Covid. Many citizens were extremely upset and chose to create their own show despite it being illegal and extremely dangerous. It was a nightmare for the police and fire departments. One of our councilmen posted that at one point, they had more fires than fire engines. Meanwhile I, like most dog parents, stayed home with my dog. At least inside the house, she didn’t shake. She just stayed by my side until I told her it’s bedtime, and she ran in her kennel.  Maggie’s kennel is tucked back between a corner wall and my bookcase, with a mat on top, so it feels secure to her. She seemed fine in there for the rest of the night.

I didn’t sleep much. Sunday I was a zombie, but I did work on my Wing Slayer Hunter Story Bible. This is a HUGE project. I have a three ring binder notebook I keep everything in. I originally started all this on the computer, but between all the various files, computer changes and the fact that I often handwrote stuff because that’s how I plot and problem solve, it’s a huge mess. Many of my  handwritten notes and timelines have been lost, or more likely, accidentally tossed out. So I’m rebuilding all this, and I want it in one main computer file, and in the notebook. Then I can still handwrite in the notebook as I’m writing, and update the computer files as needed. All this work will payoff to do what I have planned.

And I’m rereading the series, so my world is pretty filled with magic, LOL!

That was my weekend, how was yours?

Glad you had a nice weekend aside from no sleep Sat/Sun. People can be very dumb this time of year and with no real firework displays they’re even worse than normal. Poor Maggie.

Is Turbo a dog or hamburger guy? Harrison is both  .

You did a great job locating as much of you r Wing Slayer data as you did. If it were me, I’m sure 1/2 would have been tossed or in a cubbyhole in the basement by now. You’re going to have a great time re-reading the series.

We didn’t see Harrison. It would have been Sat. am but his dad was in a snit and was nasty to hubs. After I saw the tweet I told hubs we were not going over. This morning hubs did go over by himself (I was already committed to other stuff, like a bank appointment). Harrison loved seeing him. Harrison also LOVES the popcorn I sent over. It’s so cute. He just keeps asking for it and nothing else.

I hope you have a really great week and that all the fires are under control.

    Be safe!

Viki, Turbo didn’t eat much of either hamburger or hotdog. He can be hit or miss with eating, and we don’t make a big deal of it. Before we went swimming, he was chowing down on boiled eggs I made him :-) Oh and the chocolate covered graham crackers too.

I had a mishmash of notes, but thankfully, had pretty good character outlines, although some were handwritten. In anycase, I’ve rebuilt most of everything but timelines, so I’m happy about that. And now I can add to what I have pretty easily.

Oh no, I’m sorry you didn’t get to see Turbo and dealing with unkindness with your son. It’s sometimes hard to get past that. I stay off my kids social media for the most part, although I do see Oldest and his wife’s FB posts, but those are positive in general. I just know I won’t handle it well if I see things I don’t like :-)

Harrison is so cute with his grandfather! Of course he loved the popcorn you got him! It’s pretty funny that all he wants, LOL!

Hope your week is starting off right!

I can’t believe I missed this earlier. Derp. Yay for a good weekend overall. Sorry Maggie had to deal with the fireworks. She’s such a good and brave girl. Yay for your work on the Wing Slayer Hunters project. Have fun in the magic!

My new computer came on Friday while I was making dinner, so my world’s been pretty full up with that. But once I got the new computer all set up, I got to work writing. Not a huge amount, but it’s new words added to Cinder Ugly, and I’m feeling good about being able to finish this. I just knocked out a thousand words and I’m ready to call it a night. Man, I am so out of shape for writing.

Like B.E., I can’t believe I missed this either! I always read my blog roll first thing. Ah well. It was Monday.

Bah and curses on those who use fireworks! They were going off around here for NOW five nights in a row, and usually until well after midnight. LG and Jake were both freaked. Stupid people!

We had a quiet weekend, but for the fireworks. I splurged on a large Sonic M&M Blast! I was good and only ate half of it, saving the rest for another night. I’m so proud.

Yay for the Wingslayers! I started an Excell sheet of names and descriptions by series and books so I’d stop reusing names. And yeah…haven’t updated it in awhile. Plus, I’d need to go back and read all my books to get them all down. Someday. Maybe.

Hang in there. If you feel up to baking and sharing with your local fire station and police precinct/sheriff’s subdivision office, I’m sure they’d appreciate the thanks. ;) Have a great rest of the week!

Hey Jenn – That was supposed to be “text” not “tweet.” I don’t follow the guys feeds either. I used to follow the eldest FB feed for his sale of art and work related stuff so I could promote him.

It’s already 92 at 11:47 am. Dew point in the 70’s so it’s going to be a nasty day here :(.

I hope you have a really great Tuesday!

B.E., not your fault, I think this posted late. There’s a glitch somewhere, and I need to contact my web designer, but I’m just haven’t (procrastination, LOL!)

Yay for your new computer!!! it’s a hell of a lot of work to move everything, so I understand that time suck. Last time, Wizard set up the old computer on a side table and kept it there for a week or two so we could “discover” anything we neglected in the original transfer. It was helpful.

And new words after all that rocks!! Keep going!

Silver, with you on the fireworks. Its unnecessary. I’m all for sanctioned shows in normal times, and that limits the pain for dogs, other animals and those suffering with combat PTSD.

OMGosh I want that Sonic Blast!! I’d eat the whole thing though :-( You clearly have more self control than me.

Yep, our spreadsheets and story bibles are only as good as the info we put in them. Sigh. I’m doing this as a “project” that will help me get back into the world, and reconnect with the characters. It’s helping. I’m trying to reread the series, but rereading my books is always a tad painful and the urge to rewrite is real.

I’ve thought of baking and sharing so many times, but i’m not sure they can even accept homemade stuff anymore in CA. People do awful things, and they have to protect themselves. I’d have to call and ask. But a great idea!

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Viki, oh! Yeah, a text is a much more personal thing. I’m so sorry! I wish we could all exhibit a little more self control and understanding that we’re all doing the best we can, at least most of us. We’re all tense these days. I hope things are better now.

Boy it’s hot and humid there!

My day is going well enough, hope yours is too :-)
