Wednesday Reading

Anyone else feel like this?

California shut down again, which I suspected would happen because our numbers and hospitalizations are soaring. And while I’m trying to get this story nailed down BEFORE I write it so I can do just a few drafts, the hunters and witches are laughing my face. So…whatever. I’ll write a thousand and two drafts, but if I’m gonna suffer, then so are they. Just saying….

So yeah, reading is my escape, how about you?

And if you’re looking for a reading escape, here’s a new release! Last week I told you all a good friend of mine had a heart attack? Her name is Mindy Neff, and thankfully, she’s home and  recovering. Whew that was scary! In good news, her newest book, THE PRINCE & HIS CINDERELLA, just came out yesterday for only 99¢! If you like sweet and sexy small town romances, check it out here. This is the first book in a 3-part series that are all completed and being released back-to-back.

Definitely a job for a book. A good one with loads of stuff to take you away from all this. Sorry to hear CA locked down again. :hugs: LOL, you’ll write as many drafts as they want you to write and you’ll like it. Thanks for the book recommendation!

I dunno, these past couple weeks have been off for reading for some reason. Bleh. I’ll get back to it soon. I’ve been… well… playing online play-money poker as an escape lately. No opinions, no ugly, no fights… just cards. And when someone gets stupid at any given table, I walk away. There’s always a different table to sit at.

Yeah, I heard that CA was soaring–and not in a good way. Hang in there. Glad your author friend is on the mend. And yay for her book release! I hope she sells many copies.

The Wing Slayers should have learned by now that you will “torture” them into submission if they give you too much grief. ;)

I’m doing a marathon re-listen to Shelly Laurenston’s Pride series. There’s an overall plot arc with some suspense but they’re mostly zany with laugh-out-loud moments. I diverted shortly when a library hold hit my Libby app. This book had a lot of hype and people raved about about (and it was written by a normal fave writer’s alter-author-ego). New series so I wanted to dip my toe in before committing to the the high price of the audio book. Yeah…Glad I did. I made it 6% into the book and said, “Nope. I’m done.” Bored out of my mind. The next patron on the list got that book fast.

Anway. I need to get some writing done. Having good days followed by yucky days physically. Stupid body. Gotta do stuff regardless of the desire to curl up with a book that makes me laugh.

Good luck with the Wing Slayers and let me know if I can help “whip them into shape.” Happy Hump Day.

Yes, a job for a book. It’s terrible here too. Mostly young people getting infected but the hospitalizations and deaths are down. Still, it looks like the Gov is going to start shutting things down again. He’s having a “talk” with us tonight at 7. We’ll see.

Reading is my escape too, but with this horrid shut down and virus, I just can’t seem to read more than a page at a shot. It’s taking me forever to read a book :(.

I agree with Silver. The Wing Slayers should remember that you all have a cruel relationship with one another  .

I’ll check out Mindy’s book. I’m very happy to hear that she is doing so well.

PS. I finally got a pack of Clorox wipes at Walmart yesterday. The man had just opened the box and stocked the shelf. Limit one. There were only 3 left :(. They go fast if and when we can get them.

    Have a great day!

B.E, thanks, we’re all tired of the virus and the toll it’s taking on all of us. I’ve had trouble getting into a lot of books lately, in way being forced to read my own is helping.

Well I’m not writing yet, I’m doing a lot of thinking to get the premise right.

Poker sounds like fun! Especially play money poker :-) We must all find ways to let our emotional sides rest from the constant badgering laterly.

Hope you’re one a winning streak!

Silver, thanks, I’m very grateful Mindy is doing better. It was totally unexpected, so…yeah…stuff happens. I’m also glad she had all her books done and set up. I know she’s worried about marketing, but her health comes first.

Ha, Wing Slayers always think they can get their way with me. But then, they win as many battles as they lose, so they might be onto something, LOL.

Shelly is hilarious! I haven’t read her in a while, but I should! Re-reading is a huge comfort right now.

Ugh on the book that wasn’t for you. I get bored way easier than I used to, and that might be happening to you too. Not sure if it’s an author thing, or maybe age? But yeah, it’s disappointing.

Hope you’re feeling better and were up to tackling some writing today. I feel for you!

Thanks for the offer, and I’ll let you know. Right now, I’m at the thinking big thoughts stage.

Viki, it’s true deaths are down, but I’m worried about long term consequences from this virus. We just don’t know, but hopefully, there’ won’t be any for the majority of young patients. And it’s even sadder when a young person does die :-(

I’m sorry, I’m having problems reading too in some cases. Odd I can read my books and I usually loathe that. I still get uncomfortable, but my concentration is ok. Hope you can find a book that sucks you in and won’t let go!

LOL yeah, we do have a cruelish relationship. The hunters and I have a very similar stubborn streak.

Mindy is a strong woman, and that certainly helps.

Yay for finding the clorox wipes! Those things are gold right now!
