Friday Five

TGIF! Let’s jump right into sharing five random things about our week.

  1. I’m all over the map plotting the Wing Slayers. Every book presents major challenges, but, in this case, I know the end, but not the beginning, which is different, LOL! I’m also making sure this book stays true to the series, but it also needs to be authentic to the characters, which hopefully, makes each book unique. I’ll get there, it’s just a matter gathering all the strands into an opening premise that sets up the story.
  2. I just heard from my editor and she believes she’ll finish the edits on SAVAGED DEVOTION today or Monday. That was fast! I have no idea if she liked it or anything along those lines, but I’ll find out soon enough. So the next week or two, or however long it takes, I’ll be revising that book. A note on this: The fact that I’m juggling projects is another indicator I’ve learned how to adapt and cope with the nerve damage that caused tinnitus and concentration issues for me.
  3. I finished my antibiotics for the UTI! That’s an accomplishment since the last couple days were bugging my stomach.  Whew, glad to have the done!
  4. Maggie caught another lizard this week. I happened to be taking out trash, she was trotting with me, spotted the little guy, and moved like a rocket. She had it in her mouth before I blinked. I told her to drop it (okay I screamed, LET IT GO!).  She dropped him and he scurried into the ground cover. I hope the little guy is okay. Other than catching lizards, Maggie’s still my sweet loyal girl :-)
  5. Right now, I’m planning to stay home this weekend, and just do stuff. But plans can changes, so we’ll see. Maybe I’ll even make shark cookies for fun.

That’s my quick Friday Five, now I’d love to hear yours! I hope everyone is staying healthy and has a great weekend!

Hey, at least Maggie dropped it and lizards are tough little dudes! I’ll trade my Wolves for your Wing Slayers. Just sayin’… Hope you’re feeling better and yay on a speedy editor. Hope it’s good news from her. And a slow weekend is a good thing. Okay, my five:

    1. We’ve had some rain. Like almost every day. Not much, but some. Too bad they roll in between 3 and 6 a.m., freaking out the fuzzy children.

    2. Big trash pick up is coming so we finally got around to chopping up some branches lost in previous storms, plus I took clippers in hand and trimmed out a bunch of volunteer youpon bush/trees. Those suckers grow like weeds!

    3. Started the weekd with T-ball on Monday. Stormy was the last batter so he got to hit a “homerun” each at bat. In their league (6U), everyone plays, everyone bats, and they only get to move a base at a time, EXCEPT the last batter! That player gets to run ALL the bases. Exciting stuffs. ;)

    4. Ending the week with Stormy coming to spend the night so Only and Baseball Boy can have adult time. He’s coming for dinner, sleeps, breakfast, lunch, and his folks will pick him up sometime tomorrow afternoon. Fun times!

    5. Got a few scenes written this week but not near what I’d hoped. I kept finding other stuff to do–like laundry, and “cleaning maintenance cycle” on the washer, and cutting branches in 100 degree weather. Not that I’m procrastinating or anything… ;)

    Have a good weekend, everyone!

    1. I can just imagine how hard it is to plot a book. But it is cool that you know how it wraps up :).
    2. That’s fantastic that your editor is pretty much finished up. Yes, you have learned how to handle all medical issues that have plagued you the past couple years.
    3. Sorry the antibiotics tore up your tummy. Good thing you’re done with them. Now stay healthy!
    4. Maggie is The Great Lizard Hunter :). It’s what dogs do so we can’t fault her for catching them.
    5. Staying home sounds good but shark cookies sound even better ;).

1a. Hubs came home from dropping fun stuff off for Harrison and a rock flew up and put a large crack in his windshield. There goes another $1000 (deductible).
2a. My allergies have been really nasty this week. I had to go buy special eye drops but am dealing with all the other lovely (gross) symptoms.
3a. Had my yearly visit with the gynecologist and she mentioned a nodule but said she had felt it before and it seemed fine. I had never felt it during my own exams. Since it’s in the opposite breast from the cancer I am now freaking out. My mam is in a month. I will have them spotlight it. It’s been 14 years.
4a. I’m late for getting Spunk his dinner and he is letting me know.
5a. Cassie is doing my hair tomorrow afternoon. Can’t wait.

    Have a great weekend!

    Silver, definitely feeling better, thanks!

    1) Poor fuzzy kids :-( Thunder is scary.
    2) You have ambition to get all that cut up and ready for the trash!
    3) Fun for Stormy and Grandma!
    4) Should be a full weekend of laughs, hugs and exhaustion for you guys!
    5) If I didn’t know better, I’d say that’s procrastinating for sure and I’ve done my share this week too.

Hope you have a great weekend with Stormy Time!

Viki, it seems to be my slow week plotting wise, but I’m using the time to figure out Savi, so it’s okay. And yep, Maggie’s being a dog so we don’t get mad at her.

    1) Sheesh, that is so frustrating! We’ve had many windows cracked by rocks, usually on the freeway from big trucks. So sorry.
    2) Allergies suck. Hope the eye drops help. My optometrist recommended I get some, but just haven’t done it. When I’m desperate enough, I’ll plunk down the money.
    3) You’re entitled to a freak out. Breast cancer, as you know, can be sneaky, but if the doctor had felt it before nothing changed, that’s a good sigh. Still, I’ll hold my breath with you until your mammo next month.
    4) Spunk needs his dinner!! Maggie feels for him.
    5) Oh good! I thought you guys had shut down too, or if you have, I’m glad she’s found a way to do it.

I really hope your allergies get better and you have a good weekend!
