Weekend Roundup

It was a quieter weekend, and I’m grateful. Not sure why, but we needed that. Maybe it’s the heat.

Friday, I saw Biker Witch, but it’s hard to get into much trouble these days with most things closed or limited access.

Saturday, I fought with the book…don’t ask :-)

Sunday I was at Home Depot twice because my plants are growing and I keep having to transplant them to bigger pots. I got most of what I needed, then had to go back to get a tomato cage to stake up my plant. FYI, I had no idea what a tomato cage was until I looked around online to learn how to stake up tomato plants :-) Maggie went with me to Home Depot the first time, and was very sad when I didn’t take her the second time (it was getting too hot to have her out). I also made peanut butter chocolate chunk cookies, and I’m trying something different to rewrite this chunk of book. It felt so stagnant and boring, I wanted to change it up. This revision shouldn’t take this long, but my revision-muscles needed to be stretched and challenged to get the kinks out.

So a good weekend, and hopefully I will have lots of butt-in-the-chair time this week.

How was your weekend?

Yay for a quiet weekend! You deserve a break every now and then. Yay for time with Biker Witch! I hope she’s doing well. Yay for your plants! Sounds like they’re thriving. Yay for Maggie and for cookies! I’m sorry your revision is giving you fits, but you’re right, after all this time, your revision muscles need stretching to get back into the swing of it. You’ll get there. :hugs: Good wishes for loads of butt-in-chair, hands-on-keyboard time this week.

The weekend here was typical. Quiet. I wrote, not tons but every day. I’m so close to the end of this I can taste it. I walked some and did other typical me stuff. I spent Saturday morning deep cleaning my bathroom… the girls’ bathroom right now, I guess… and the rest of the weekend paying for it. I lead an exciting life. LOL

The heat must be awful out there! And if I’m remember my geography, that bad fire is well north of y’all, right? I bet Maggie enjoyed her trip into the garden center at HD. :) Jake is thrilled to go to Wallyworld with me again. Revisions suck. End of story. Stay strong! You’ll get there. Time with Biker Witch is important no matter where you go.

I was basically a slug this weekend. Got a little writing done, operative word being “little.” My Cards are playing baseball again–FINALLY–after their Covid scare and quarantine. We didn’t do anything special, see anyone special so yeah…pretty boring here too but I’m not complaining!

    Have a great week!

Glad you got to see Biker Witch. It is hard to get into trouble these days but worth the try ;). I bet you had a really good time even if you behaved yourselves.

I can’t believe you didn’t know about tomato cages. I guess “farming” is a totally new adventure for you :-D . Your tomatoes will be very happy that they are caged and not falling all over the place. It’s good to hear that you have to keep buying new pots for your herbs and veggies.

I can just imagine Maggie’s sad face the second time you went to Home Depot. It’s funny how expressive animals are. With the heat you have out there she really was much better off at home in the AC.

You really used your oven in that heat? When it’s hot here I don’t turn on the oven at all.

Nothing big happening here. Just staying put :).

    Have a great week!

B.E., thanks, I really want to get through this problem portion. Not sure why I keep making it so hard.

Yay for being so close to the end! That’s amazing! And sympathies on the cleaning and paying for it. I did that kind of cleaning two days last week and paid the third day so I feel you.

Hope you got more writing done today!

Silver, yeah the heat’s brutal. There’s a couple fires, but the one I think you’re referring too (Apple Fire) is south of us. We’re fine but can see the smoke at times.

I really need to cut, cut, cut, but it’s hard to figure out where and how.

Jake and Maggie are both such good dogs. It’s nice to be able to take them with us.

We all need those weekends. I’m happy you get to watch your Cards again, and while I’m sorry they had to go through a scare and quarantine, at least they’re trying to find the safe zone. I respect teams that protect their players, family and fans while trying to do their jobs.

A little writing is 100% better than no writing.

    Happy Monday!

Viki, I’ve seen tomato plants staked and tied, not the cool cages until I saw my daughter-in-law’s plant. Or I’ve probably seen it, but didn’t pay attention. I’m having a ton of fun learning super obvious stuff everyone else knows :-)

Maggie was so cute at Home Depot the first time. I got a cart, and she liked trotting along next to it. Normally I keep her close to a heel at my side so I can control her, but trotting by the basket worked since she stayed right there like she was heeling with the basket. Shrug. But you’re right, the second time it was too hot.

Usually I’ll bake first thing in the morning during the heat.

I hope you had a good birthday weekend.
