Weekend Roundup

Friday I made the red velvet cupcakes and took them over to CPA Boy, Special K and Turbo’s house. Middle Son and his wife came too. Special K made awesome carne asada tacos and we had a great evening.

Then we brought out the cupcakes. Turbo took his cupcake apart, then walked up to me sad-faced. “Grandma, do you have chocolate?”

Do I have chocolate? Bwhahaha! I whipped these out:

Turbo was a very happy little boy while everyone else made fun of the crazy grandma who spent hours making those chocolate for a 2-year-old. Special K asked me if I was going to whip a package of M&Ms out of my grandma purse like I did last time I was over. I cracked up. Honestly, they are such good sports and I run everything by them before I give Turbo anything. Although later in the evening, Turbo was asking me for more chocolate, and Mommy jumped in to get Turbo a healthy snack. She didn’t trust grandma alone in the kitchen with Turbo and the chocolates he desperately wanted.

Wizard later sulked because I didn’t bring any chocolates home (I would eat them all!). And he’s plotting how he can win more Turbo points away from Grandma. Little does he know I’m already looking for truck molds for chocolate since Turbo loves trucks :-)

Otherwise, I spent the weekend in the mud pit with my characters. The rumors that I held their faces in the mud until they agreed to cooperate are grossly exaggerated. Probably.

And a brag moment because I’m so happy for him. Wizard has been going to an outdoor, covid-safe RC Car racing place. Sunday he raced in the expert class, which is the class with professional racers, for the first time, and he placed really high. I am super jazzed for him!  Go Wizard!

How was your weekend?

Go, Wizard! Good for you! That sounds deserving of some chocolates. ;o)

Yay for fun times with family. Turbo is such a cutie-patootie. And yes, you are such a good grandma. I wish my grandma had kept chocolates in her purse. All we got were those weird pastel licorice things. Bleh. LOL about holding your characters face-down in the mud. I hope they learned their lesson.

I finished Cinder Ugly’s first draft on Saturday. Yesterday, I made a going away cake for Owl – because making it Thursday would’ve meant she only got one piece and now she gets cake every day until she leaves. I didn’t have anything to decorate it with so I just spelled out BYE and her name and a frowny face using chocolate chips. Mom’s gotta do what a Mom’s gotta do.

WhooHoo, Wizard! You go, guy! I’d say Turbo has a LOT in common with his grandma. Chocolate is obviously coded in his DNA. ;) Hope you find the truck molds. :) Keep up the mud wrestling. Maybe throw in some zip ties… Just sayin’ that sometimes works for me. ;)

We had a weekend here. Nothing of note happened. I got some words out. Not many, but some. Watched baseball. My Cards won more than they lost, which is a good thing.

OH! I did make a new batch of peanut clusters while LG “chaperoned” a coming-home event for two cousins, one a Marine and one an Army soldier. The Kiowa Women’s War Society was there and presented the young men with Pendleton blankets. LG said it was really cool. The Legion Post, via LG, presented them with certificates.

    Have a great week, everyone!

Dinner at CPA boys sounds yummy. Special K does a nice job.

Oh Turbo :-P . Those looks can melt ice. I bet he was super happy when you brought out the chocolates. I’m sure you’ll be able to find truck molds. He’ll love them!

It’s easy to picture Wizard plotting to get Grandpa points to counter your points. Be careful, he may just find a toy truck to give Turbo.

Way to go Wizard!!!!!! Congratulations! I hope he gets to race in this class more often and continues to succeed and enjoy himself.

Those characters need a serious talking to – or mud facial. Whatever works.

I had a great time with my friend yesterday. We vowed not to wait another 29 years to see each other.

The fridge is leaking again. Hubs refuses to fix it, though all he does is take out the screws for me. I do all the rest. But thank heaven the new one comes tomorrow between 7 and 11. No workout for me tomorrow.

    Have a great afternoon!

B.E., all my grandmother (only one I have any memory of) had was rock candy. It was okay, but I’d rather have had chocolate :-)

CONGRATS ON CINDER UGLY!! I saw you’d done it on FB and was thrilled for you! What an amazing feat in a compressed time frame!!

I hope everything goes smoothly for your kid’s trek back to college. Smart idea to make the cake now so she can enjoy it for several days! I would have done the exact same decorating technique if that’s what I had on hand too. You’re clever and creative!

Hope your week is off to a good start.

Silver, LOLOL! Yep Turbo and I are bonded by chocolate. I found molds, but have held off ordering. I get a little carried away at times.

I need zip ties. The struggle is real old, so I’m going back to what i have but cut and tighten anywhere I can. I’m at my wit’s end :-)

Glad your Cards won and some words got written.

    Yay for your peanut clusters!

That truly sounds like a warm and wonderful homecoming for LG’s two cousins. I hope all soldiers receive that kind of welcome. I think it all helps them make the transition, which I don’t imagine is easy to do.

Now let’s all go take on the week!

Viki, Wizard is sneaky, no telling what he’ll come up with but he is careful not to buy too much.

I’d really like to put my characters in a meat grinding. Or maybe its my ability to plot. Something.

I’m delighted to hear you had a great time with your friend! It’s so easy to let the years go by like that, especially since you lived so far apart. Hopefully you’ll see her more often now.

Yay on a new fridge! Fingers crossed that goes smoothly!

    Happy Monday Evening!
