Weekend Roundup

A good weekend. Saturday, we went to see Turbo. He’s an energetic little guy and usually good humored, with an occasional meltdown thrown in to remind us he’s a toddler :-) I treasure the hugs and kisses. Also, he loves brownies. I gave him small one, then he tried really hard to charm me into a second one. I threw that on his dad by telling Turbo his dad said no, LOL! CPA boy accepted the blame with good grace and redirected Turbo’s attention. CPA Boy seems amused that I’ve gone from a rules-and-structure parent to a softy Grandma.

Surprisingly, when we got home, I had energy to do some more reading through my hard copy edit too.

Sunday, Wizard was gone and I got a ton of stuff done, including another 100 pages of the book edited on hard copy. Assuming I don’t find any surprise plot problems toward the end, I should have this book to my copyeditor on Friday. It will likely sit in her queue for a while, but that’s okay I have a lot of other things to take care of to prepare for publishing, and down the road, get to work on the Wing Slayers.

How was your weekend?

Yay for Turbo time! LOL about the brownies. A kid after me own heart, he is. Yay for getting edits done! And yay for the hope of more Wing Slayers!

After a totally toad-like Friday and Saturday, I made myself get to work yesterday. I still have three pages of notes to enter, but I made a good-sized dent yesterday. I made Romanian apple cake (recipe on my blog and my FB page, if anyone’s interested). I love it, but preparing the apples can be a trial. I need to get this edit pass finished today so I can start the next pass, which should be the last pass before it goes out to proofers. Fingers crossed I can do that next week. And that’s my life right now – food and editing. Yay.

Turbo Time! And yeah, grandparents are for spoiling. Just sayin’… Congrats on all that hard work! Progress!!! Yes, I’m full of exclamation points. ;)

I had a weekend. The kids had car trouble and Only had places to be and needed cargo area so I loaned her Drover. Lawyer Guy was at the Post all day for a corn hole tournament so I was stuck at home with no transportation. Yes, I did get quite a bit done on the book.

Cold front hit yesterday so I switched to winter linens on the bed. The comforter was extra snuggly this morning.

In sad news, lost one of the feral kittens late Saturday/early Sunday. We were sad because we thought he was okay but really scared when we rescued him. There was no blood and appeared to be no broken bones. I wrapped him up and put him in the cat carrier in a quiet room, hoping things would be fine in the morning and I could turn him loose. (Loose dog attacked him so there was no way I’d be able to integrate him with my two at that point.) Sadly, he’d crossed the rainbow bridge so there must have been internal damage. Anyway…

I have 3 days to finish the book. Not sure I’ll make it but I’m gonna give it my best shot. Time to get more coffee and get to work. 🐱‍💻

Here’s to a week full of possibilities for all of us! 🥰

Yay for playtime with Turbo! Oh I can so see him trying to charm you into another brownie. The little ones learn very quick how to manipulate grandparents. It’s not hard 😁. I found that Harrison’s parents are very good at taking the fall for us too.

Sounds like you accomplished quite a bit this weekend. Good for you!

I don’t even remember the weekend. I do know that youngest sucked it up and did take hubs kayaking. I was not thrilled. The kid needs to stop and just heal.

I hope you get through the hard copy edits with no problems and send the book off this week.

    Have a great day!

B.E., thanks and yep, Turbo is a boy after my own heart too with his chocolate love.

That apple cake sounds delicious, especially with vanilla ice cream :-)

Hope you are able to finish your edits today. Food is a LOT more interesting than edits, LOL!

    Happy Monday!

Silver, I use a ton of exclamation points. In my manuscripts, I try to delete 90% of them before my editor sees it or I’ll have to hear about it, LOL.

Nothing like being trapped at home to get some work done! Hope Only was able to get her car fixed quickly and cheaply.

Is it wrong of me to be jealous of your cooler weather?

Poor kitty, I’m so sorry. That had to be so heartbreaking for you when you were trying to save him. It just sucks. There probably wasn’t much you could do to have saved him :-( At least you gave him a warm, safe place for awhile.’

Good luck on the three day deadline!

Viki, the grandsons are just so cute how are we supposed to resist?

Oh dear, I wouldn’t be thrilled either. Youngest is probably like my middle and thinks he’s invincible. I really hope it didn’t set him back in healing.

Hope your week is off to a good start!
