Weekend Roundup

Yep, the weekend came and went! So here’s all the things:

I’ve jumped into writing while accepting my process. After having such a massive burnout (caused my many things including the tinnitus), I’m doing a lot of embracing my strengths and accepting my limitations so I can do what I love. My main thing these days is writing 30 minutes with no distractions twice a day–even if that is rewriting, rereading, or doing whatever my process needs me to do in that moment.  Getting through the first draft will be challenging, and I’ll do several rewrites before I even call it a first draft, but that’s just how I work.

I’m definitely NOT setting high expectations on myself, even though my personality is: work hard and don’t stop until it’s done.

I may do some blogs about it all, but I’m letting that idea stew around in one of my notebooks.

Otherwise, I got some cleaning done, hung out with Youngest a bit, and I’m noodling around with Canva to design things like FB headers, graphics etc because I’m enjoying it.

It’s cloudy and damp here which is a nice change. I took Maggie on a mile and a half walk yesterday. Here’s a picture of our view:

And here’s Maggie when I asked her to sit for a pic:

She really hates pictures, LOL!

How was your weekend?

What ever your process is, stay with it I love reading and/or listening to your books. My dog Cocomein is a camera hog. I started doing fall cleaning. Only got one room done but it is a start.

You go, girl! You’re doing it. However you’re doing it isn’t as important as the doing. Yay for cleaning and hanging out with BLB and having fun with graphics! Good for you on the walk. Heh, Maggie and pics. She’s a hoot.

The weekend here was loads of cooking (apple cranberry bread, stew, biscuits) and too much being a toad otherwise. I have a sale starting today and managed to get the gumption to do the FB marketing posts. We’ll see if I get any sales. I need to kick myself in the buns and get the formatting done for Cinder Ugly, so I can get it published. The weather here is cold and yucky, which should be perfect for getting inside work done, but it saps my energy. Time for more coffee. ;o)

I’m sure seeing those clouds (and NOT smoke!) is a relief. I hope y’all get some rain. Yay for walks and embracing your process–you’ll get it done!–and time with Youngest.

It’s pouring here and the western part of the state is getting thunder snow. I HAVE to go get groceries today. Ugh. Shoulda gone yesterday but thought I’d have time before the main front hit. Ah, well.

There was a weekend. I was mostly a slug. I spent a lot of time with my feet up–lots of swelling from sitting long hours at the compter. Canva is cool. I broke down (I got a deal) and bought a subscription to Book Brush. It is kinda fun and I can do more stuff with it like removing backgrounds so I can isolate a hero/heroine/couple and put them someplace else. I need to play with it more and get realy comfortable.

Due to thunder, I have a large dog under my desk. As soon as the sun comes up, I’ll be hitting the road for errands because I won’t get much work done.

I did a little work this weekend. I did some setting research and added to the first chapter, plus have a couple of new scenes that popped into my head. Once I get home and get Boone out from under the desk, I’ll hit the words hard.

That’s it for me. Have a great week! 🥰

Those clouds look great. But poor Maggie really does hate having her photo taken. Was she tired too? The other photo you posted on Facebook would indicate that she had a nice workout ;).

It’s smart to take the book as it comes and not make heavy demands on yourself. I think that’s how we all get in to trouble. We often set the line a bit too high.

My weekend was a normal work around the house couple of days. Nothing special to talk about.

I’m looking forward to this coming Saturday. Harrison is being taken to all the grandparents houses where he and his parents will be dressed up like Toy Story characters (he will be Woody). He will be allowed to ring our doorbells and get candy. He will not be allowed in or physical contact with any of us. Still it will be good to see him all decked out for Halloween.

    Have a great day!

Carolyn, thank you so much! That’s too funny about your dog. One room is a good start on fall cleaning.

    Have a great week!

B.E., I’m never going to change my writing process, I’m just wired this way, so…acceptance seems the best solution.

That is a lot of cooking! Stew sounds perfect for the weather too. I hope you get a lot so sales on your promotion. Good for you getting FB marketing going.

I hope another cup of coffee motivated you to start formatting! Sorry for the energy drain from the cooler weather. I hope it’s not causing you pain.

    Happy Monday!

Silver, love the clouds! Today sucks though, high winds and a major fire broke on the other side of the forest-hills. We seem okay, but a lot of homes over there are in danger :-(

I hate the grocery haul too.

Funny you mentioned Book Brush, I just heard of it recently. Let me know how you like it. Canva was a free trial for me, so I figured I’d do it. But I’m a total novice.

That must be Boone under your desk. I’m sorry the thunder is scaring him. It scares Maggie, but we don’t get as much of it as you do.

    Wishing you a productive day!

Viki, she was a little tired by then, but just more annoyed. She likes to keep going.

You’re right that we tend to demand too much of ourselves. I still get frustrated, but attitude really does help.

My cleaning and house management stuff was boring too :-)

Harrison is going to be so cute! It’s wonderful that he’ll get to trick or treat at Grandparents houses even with the limitations. I know his parents just want to protect him, but as a grandma, I feel for you guys. Covid sucks. But seeing Harrison will make your Halloween! Turbo will be hanging out with his cousins, I think. They’ll do something fun, and that makes me happy.

Hope your day is going well!
