Late Friday Five

Sorry for being late, I had my website updated yesterday, then my link to get into the dashboard errored out. Long story short, all I had to do was delete my bookmark and redo it, and here I am!

A quick message here from me to you: I know times are stressful right now. Emotions are running high here in the U.S.. I’m asking that each of you remember to take care of yourselves. Stress like this makes us ill, and can ruin valued relationships. Please, because no matter what your political leanings, I care about each of you. Your health and happiness are important to me.Β  You. Matter. These days, Wizard and I look at each other and say, “The sun will rise tomorrow.” We do what we can control, and try to let go of the rest that we can’t control.

So let’s jump right into Friday Five!

  1. SAVAGED DEVOTION is at the formatters and I should get the files back to review this weekend. Man, I’m desperately trying to get back up to speed on everything, and worried like usual. But I’m also excited, I love this trilogy. I took some risks to give the characters the story they wanted.
  2. I have the first chapter excerpt of SAVAGED DEVOTION on my website now here
  3. Today is Wizard and my actual anniversary. We went out to another dinner last night at Flemmings Prime Steakhouse. We had planned to do that before our son invited us to dinner last weekend, so I thought we’d just do something at home. But Wizard surprised me and made the reservations for last night (easier to get in on a Thursday night than a Friday). It was a wonderful night sitting outside in a balmy evening talking and sharing a meal, good wine and a molten chocolate lava cake for dessert.
  4. Eli and Savi from Primal Magic are bugging me even though I can’t work on them this week. I blame Savi, if she had just been the sweet, somewhat angelic witch I originally planned, things would be moving along. But I wrote her scene and was like, Holy Crap, now what? Eli is even less happy and off sulking somewhere. On the other hand, this is how I alway work, LOL.
  5. Sunday, Wizard is going out to middle son’s house in the morning to give him a hand with something. Turbo and his parents are coming out a bit later and staying until Turbo’s ready for bed. It will be a marathon day, LOL.

So that’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

    1. That is such wonderful news on SAVAGED DEVOTION. I can’t believe you’ll have it back this weekend – we’re so close to getting our grubby hands on it 😍.
    2. I will resist and NOT read it. I try to never read ahead.
    3. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! Sounds like a wonderful meal. Flemmings is SO good.
    4. So Savi is the naughty one this time, who would have guessed. I love how Eli is off sulkingπŸ˜†.
    5. Sunday is going to be a busy day. Have a great time!

    1. We’re braving the virus and going out tomorrow to celebrate our anniversary. It’s Monday. Ohio is in really bad shape and we have considered cancelling. We may still depending on how our nerves are tomorrow.
    2. I ordered a new Persian rug 11X15 for our family/living room from Overstock. It was supposed to be here today but was delayed. FedEx says it will be here Monday. I sure hope so since youngest will be here and I’ll enlist his muscles 😊.
    3. Hubs went to visit Harrison today and he tried to get hubs to stay. He kept asking him to stay for dinner and Eldest tried to explain that hubs had to go home.
    4. Looks like hubs and I may be going over to Harrison’s Sunday late morning to visit for a bit.
    5. I’m starting to think about food and the holidays and wondering what to do if no one is allowed to visit one another. This virus really needs to hit the road!

    HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!

    Have a great weekend!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! πŸ’•πŸ’–πŸ’•πŸ’– Websites and tech make my head explode. Yay for all the Savage Devotion news! Psst. Love the first chapter! Silly Eli and Savi. They’ll learn. Yay for family time. My five:

    1. I’ve hit close to my word count goal every day since NaNoWriMo started. Except today. It’s mid-afternoon and I haven’t started yet. Ugh. πŸ±β€πŸ’»

    2. Tomorrow is pancake breakfast. Yay. I fried up 16 lbs. of bacon last night and today, which is one reason I’m behind on writing today. That and a Wallyworld trip. πŸ₯“πŸ₯“πŸ₯“πŸ₯ž

    3. Wednesday was Hideaway Pizza with the James Gang to celebrate Only’s birthday, which was last week. πŸ₯° Stormy is 4’2″ tall now. And still a first-grader. Yikes! 😱

    4. Weather has turned moderate again. No heater, open windows. I love the sound of chainsaws in the morning. 🀣

    5. After sampling what seems like every gushy food brand and flavor on the cat food shelves, Loki has decided he likes Friskies L’il Soups. Which is not gushy food. It’s a cat treat. A small plastic container of creamy sauce with bits of chicken, tuna, or salmon. Loki LEAVES the meat, laps up the sauce. Stupid cat. At least I don’t feel guilty that Boone and Jake get hamburger with their dry kibble and Loki didn’t. πŸ™„

Have a great weekend, everyone! As mentioned, pancakes then sirens the Mexican food then words. Hopefully.

Viki, thanks and Happy Anniversary to you too :-) Savi was kind of naughty but so interesting to me that I didn’t mind. Eli’s the one sulking, LOL.

    1) I’ve seen Ohio’s numbers. I really hope you guys can safely get out and celebrate. But you have to decide if the risk is worth it. We did masks and hand sanitizer, but even so, it’s a risk. But you guys really deserve a nice evening out.
    2) I bet the rug will be beautiful when it arrives! LOL on wanting it to come when you have “the muscle” there. I’ve had that exact same thought when my kids show up at convenient times. Like yours, they are always willing to pitch in.
    3) Harrison LOVES his Grandpa! That is so cute that he wanted him to stay for dinner.
    4) Hope you have a great visit with Harrison on Sunday.
    5) I wish the virus would go away too. I’m thinking about holiday food too. I believe my daughters in law are hosting this year, which makes my end simpler.

Have a great weekend and early anniversary dinner!

Silver, thanks, I’m nervous about that book, but who isn’t when we publish? And while I have you, I wish I had more time to read, I’m really enjoying Night Wish!

    1) Well you’ve been doing great so far, and any words you get down today is forward progress. I admire the way you write!
    2) Wowzer! 16 pounds of bacon is a lot of work! You’re like bringing home the bank, frying it up in a pan and then generously sharing with others!
    3) Stormy is growing so fast–in years and height! I hope Only had a great birthday celebration! And nothing wrong with doing it late (or early) as time and schedules allow.
    4) I love open window days! We’re having one too, but we don’t have to listen to chainsaws. On the other hand, those chainsaws are clearing the fallen branches/trees and mess from the ice storm.
    5) Loki is too funny! Sounds like Loki was quite pleased with his selection, and the other two must have been thrilled to get hamburger in their kibble. Shh, don’t tell Maggie about that, she only gets a little scoop of canned dog food in hers at night.

I’m sure everyone at the pancake breakfast will appreciate the bacon you made! Hope you have a good weekend.

Ack. Sorry you had tech troubles. And sorry I missed this yesterday. Blerg. Yay for SD being soooo close to being out in the world. I’m skipping reading the first chapter until I can keep reading the whole thing. Happy Anniversary! I’m so glad you got to go out and celebrate. :hugs: Oh, those silly characters doing what they want to do despite all our plans. And I hope you have an awesome, if tiring, day tomorrow!

:HUGS: Take care of yourselves, too.

    1) It’s fall in full swing here, which means leaves by the ton. We’re moving them bit by bit. One year we left them and it killed what little lawn we had, so we’re not doing that again.
    2) We have another buck frequently the yard here. His left ear is broken so instead of standing up, it lays straight down. Hubs named him Lear. So now we have the Kings – Arthur and Lear. We also have a little buck, but I haven’t thought of a good princely name for him yet. Maybe Val (short for Valiant.)
    3) The bald eagles are back for the winter. Yay.
    4) I broke out my old Chuck Mangione CD and have been listening to that lately. I forgot how much I loved him. His music gives me a happy.
    5) The sunrise is just starting. We don’t get to see much of sunrises here because of all the trees, but this time of year, when the leaves have fallen, it can be really pretty – pinks and peaches shot with the dark silhouettes of empty limbs. =o)
