Weekend Roundup

It was a good weekend. Well Saturday was a technologically frustrating day with computer updates and printer snafus, but those are solvable problems so no biggie.

Sunday, I worked on a small project for my newsletter. Naturally it’s turning out to be a little bigger than I originally intended, but I’m hoping I can pull it off. While I don’t technically have time, I enjoy doing little things for my subscribers and figuring out new-to-me challenges.

Eli and I are in some discussions about getting real and owning up to who he really is. He’s muttered something about checking his contract to see if he could hire a ghost writer to replace me. The jokes on him, the contract is air tight :-)

Yesterday afternoon Turbo came over to brighten up our lives. These days, he gets out of the car and runs right into the house. It’s the best thing ever!

The only downside is I’ve been doing too much overall, and working too long, which is causing some pain. But I’m trying to rest my neck, shoulder and arm more consistently so that should resolve. The worst case, I’ll take two days off completely and that will do it.

And finally, Maggie had a good weekend filled with walks, treats, playing with Turbo and a some sunbathing.

How was your weekend?

Sounds like an awesome weekend out there. Yay!

The weekend here was pretty bland. Grazed on leftovers, made some beef stew as a break from turkey, read a little, wrote a little, and watched too much TV. We watched Die Hard yesterday as the official start of the holiday season. Nothing says Christmas like watching Hans Gruber drop off the Nakatomi Tower. We also watched True Grit (the original one), Armageddon, and The Incredibles. We’d already seen them all, but there was nothing else on and we enjoy them, so why not? =o)

There was a weekend? Oh, yeah! I’m being a little facetious. Saturday afternoon I typed The End! Then some things came to light during a group chat of the authors remaining in the series. I had a few changes to make. I thought LG and I would have to work the evening shift in the kitchen at the Post for the cornhole league people. Turned out, they finished early so we didn’t have to go. We watched Hallmark movies, including USS CHRISTMAS. It was fun and sappy.

Sunday morning, I hit the edits, discovered a thread in the first chapter that I dropped and made notes where I can tug that thread, if not actually tying it off. In this book anyway. *bwahaha* I also made myself cry. Twice. But I blame that on the sentimentality generated by watching Hallmark Christmas movies. I’m at the halfway point and hope to be finished today. Then I need to update and add back matter, and check to see if the updated covers are done. I’m not the only one in the group who may not hit the deadline today. Tomorrow is good enough.

Anyway, not much excitement but lots accomplished. So glad you got Turbo Time(tm). And Maggie is such a good girl. Can’t wait to see the surprise in your newsletter.

Oh, and tell Eli I know a good lawyer… 🤣

Have a great week, everyone! 🥰

I’m sorry you had electronics issues on Saturday. They really frustrate me. I end up calling middle son and having him work me through everything. Sure hope it’s all cleared up now.
You have really been working like crazy and sounds like you’re teaching yourself new things too. You deserve a lot of credit and should be very proud of yourself. You show that you care about your readers.
Eli and you have quite the relationship ;). He will come around.
You should rest up. If you keep going you’ll be in even more pain and that won’t do. Take a breather.
Turbo is a sweetheart! It must be so much fun to see him being so comfortable at your house. I think Harrison would be good here too but we may never know. This virus is too much.
    Love Maggie enjoying her sunshine.
    How is Wizard’s back?

We’re under a winter storm warning. We should have over a foot of snow by Wednesday morning. I have no where to go so I’ll just enjoy it. Hubs on the other hand
has an appointment tomorrow morning. He should be okay, only 3 to 5 inches of snow by then.

    Have a great afternoon!

B.E., sounds like a relaxing weekend! I haven’t really watched holiday movies yet, but hopefully soon :-) And you and hubby should absolutely watch movies again if you enjoy them!

    Happy Monday!

Silver, wow you had a super busy and productive weekend!! Yay! I was tired just reading it all, LOL!

I saw your review, thank you so much!

I worked most of the day on the small surprise and now trying to figure out best way to distribute it. I’m quitting now because my brain if fried.

Hope you had a great Monday!

Viki, all the technological stuff was just things like updates, so it all was fixable. But I’ve definitely had the kids help when I need it!

Thanks Viki, I’m doing new tasks to get my brain back into full running gear. I’ve been retraining it for two years now, but made a lot of improvements.

No worries on Eli, I just need a lot of thinking time. Annoying, but it’s how I roll creatively I guess.

Wizard’s back does seem better! The turn came on Thanksgiving Day and we’re very relieved.

I’m so with you on this virus. It’s really taking a toll on kids. You’re time with Harrison is limited, and Turbo’s not able to mix with other kids his age. They are all missing out, and so are we :-(

Enjoy the snow, and I hope Hubs has a safe trip for his morning appointment.
