Weekend Roundup

Man I hope to get on a schedule again. Wizard and I haven’t been able to keep the days of the week straight since Christmas. But our weekend was good overall. Here’s the highlights:

–We went to see Turbo again on Saturday, and at the same time, got to visit his parents a little more. Many times when we visit, they are smart enough to take advantage of us watching Turbo to get some work done, run errands or tackle projects. But this time, we hung out and visited. It was really nice.

–I got my camera and new noise-canceling headphones with a decent mic set up on my desktop computer. It was super easy. Not sure if/how I’ll use them, but I wanted the option of having them so I could if I want to do it. I asked for it for Christmas :-) Wizard and I have been Zooming each other to test it.

–I sent off Savaged Illusion Series to my formatter to put into a boxed set. I have a brand new awesome cover (I love it!), and I’m hiring Inkslinger PR to set up a one week blog tour in late February. I have a fairly simple plan in place…as long as 2021 doesn’t spring a new plot twist on us. On the other hand, part of being any kind of Entrepreneur is dealing with things that go wrong. It just happens.

–I’m writing today!

How was your weekend?

I hear ya there. My days are all messed up. Yay for seeing Turbo and also having some time with his parents! Yay for new tech goodies! Yay for your box set, blog tour, and 2021 plans! Yay for writing!

The weekend was kind of boring here, but that’s nothing new. I took down the Christmas decorations, wrote some words, ate too much, and sat on my caboose a lot. I also created some 2020 wrap-up blog posts and made some goals – like getting this book finished and published, walking 100 miles this year, and reading 75 books. All do-able.

    What B.E. said!

Our massive snow derailed weekend plans but that was okay. First Saturday is now Second Saturday, so something to look forward to. I planned on taking down my outdooor lights but I got a call from our across-the-street neighbor telling me how they’ve enjoyed the lights and their daughter from Texas might make it up this week for a belated Christmas. I told her I’d leave them up until next weekend. LOL (She’s 80, his 91.)

No writing for me. I concentrated on “marketing”–such that it is. I actually did a newsletter for the first time in 23 months. It goes out today at 10 CST. Then I did graphics for the upcoming releases so I can post them to social media. Then I worked on my website. I have a list of 6 things to finish on the site. Then I’ll think about words.

In my Monday wrap-up post, I listed the projects I’ve got “on the stove” at the moment. My goal is to treat every month like NaNoWriMo. Probably unrealistic but if I could get 6 books out this year? That’s a win. Heck, 4 books would be awesome.

And yes, here’s hoping that 2021 doesn’t spring any surprises. I’m keeping my head down just in case.

    Happy 2021, witches! 🥰

I sure hope you’re back on schedule soon too. I hate the mixed up days. I’m a regimented person too. There is a day for everything and everything for a day ;).

Good job getting your camera all set up. That’s cute, you and Wizard zooming each other.

Turbo’s parents are smart taking advantage of grandparent time. Bet it helps them a ton in getting things done and you get to have lots of fun with the big guy.

Nothing exciting going on here. I have my roast in the oven and it smells AMAZING! Have to go take care of it now.

    Have a great evening!

B.E., thanks. It’s all great, but I really want is words that work for my book :-)

I read your blog just now and can feel your frustration. 2020 was a tough year, so you’re not alone. But it’s hard to stay motivated sometimes. But if it helps, I believe in you!

I love your goals of walking a 100 miles in a year. That one is very cool. Reading 75 books is an excellent goal too!

Silver, I saw the snow you had!

That’s so sweet your keeping your lights up for the neighbor and her family to enjoy on their late celebration.

Yay for the newsletter! And now I’m wondering why I’m not on your list. I’ll go fixt that, hang on. Okay I’m back and signed up. I’ll get your next one :-)

Marketing is really hard right now. But you do some great graphics.

I read your blog too and WOWZER you have goals! Love it! Since I know how fast you can write when all the stars line up, I think 4 to 6 books is possible for you. Go for it!!!

Amen on no ugly surprises in 2021! Let’s all find a way to make this a good year!

Viki, we’re alike in loving our schedules :-)

You’re right, Turbo’s parents get a whole lot done when they get a chance. I was the same way when my kids were small.

That must be your pork roast? I hope you guys have a delicious dinner and you enjoy every bite.

Hope your week is off to a great start!
