Maggie and I were so bored this weekend that we went to visit Count Dracula. We first met him around Halloween when he just suddenly turned up.
I guess he likes it out there with all the rocks, snakes, lizards and coyotes to count. Yep that was a silly reference to The Count from Sesame Street. By the way, I’m pretty sure The Count’s need to count everything was probably OCD. And yes, my thoughts really do jump around a lot lately, LOL
Anyhow, my weekend was boring. Well except for the scene I wrote in my book where my witch performs a cool magic trick using shadows and a crossbow.
What? That’s not weird, is it?
Sigh, we all know this book is trying to send me screaming into early retirement. But I’m way too stubborn to give in, so I sat my butt at the computer all freaking weekend, trying to figure out why I can’t get it going. I think I finally got it semi sorted yesterday, and it only took something like 253 scenes to get there. My process is a tad inefficient 
I am not going to admit how many actual pages I’ve written and cut. In my defense, I have them all in a cut file, and I plan to use a few of those scenes later so they aren’t a total loss.
I bet your weekend was a lot more interesting than mine!

The Count OCD? Like…d’uh!
Your process makes as much sense as mine. Thank the writing gods for Scrivener. I can keep everything right there, move it around without cutting and pasting, and have files for characters, lists, notes, ideas, and research.
Not much writing for me but lots of organizing so I’m getting ready to hit the keyboard running here in a bit. I’m waiting for the coffee to kick in.
Our weekend was filled with Stormy. It was fun. Lots of model cars, Shaun the Sheep, and reading. I’m not sure but I think he’s reading on like a 3rd or 4th grade level now, half-way through first grade. Yayay! Also pancake breakfast. Yum.
Okay. Weekend’s over. Time for work. After one more coffee… Have a productive week, witches!

I bet the Count was very happy to have visitors this weekend and Maggie must have loved the hike. Looks like it was a beautiful day.

Sounds like it was a very intense working weekend. I’m glad you save the scenes you cut.
Our weekend was nothing interesting. I did get an email back from the county that hubs and I are in the queue for the Covid shot. He will be in 2 weeks. Me, who knows. Middle son works at a hospital 1 day a week doing all their computer stuff so he had his first shot today. His second is scheduled for Feb 8.
Eldest’s birthday is this Saturday. We’re asking DIL if we can come over and give him his card on Thursday by dropping it on the porch and then we’d get to talk to Harrison through the window for a few minutes. It’s supposed to be 38 and not snowing ;).
I have to go make dinner. No idea what :(.

Silver, shadows and crossbows make as much sense as anything happening in “real life”
I am jealous of your ability to use Scrivener. I swear I’m going to teach myself when I start a new book, but I never do. But I think I’d do better to just write for now.
Sounds like a great Stormy weekend! I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if Stormy is advanced in reading. Kids who have family reading to and with them (and who don’t have learning disabilities that create obstacles) tend to read must faster and at a more advanced level. That said, we all know Stormy is smart guy! He sure is growing fast too.
Grandkids are the best aren’t they? Sure they exhaust us, but they also keep us young at heart and our hope alive.
Organizing is important to get started writing. Hope the words and coffee flowed today!

Viki, the Count seemed happy to see us
It was a perfect day, a cool breeze kept it from being too hot. Loved it, but it’s getting hotter next week.
I’m glad your son got the first of his shots, and you and hubs are in the queue. It’s so delayed here, I don’t know when we’ll get ours. The National Guard is here helping in some hospitals though and I’m grateful for that.
I also hope you don’t have a reaction when you get yours. I know that’s a concern for you.
Wow you guys are getting a lot of snow this year, or it seems that way to me.
Happy Birthday to Eldest Son! I hope you can stop by and visit Harrison through the window! Since the vaccine seems to be getting better distribution there than here, I’m thinking it won’t be too long before you can see him without barriers again.
