Weekend Roundup

More like Roundup Lite. Not much happening, and I’ll take it. Here’s the highlights:

–Maggie’s been fine, no more upset stomachs. She’s sick of the cone, but I’m holding out until Wednesday when the stitches come out, then that cone is history.

–I tried to write. I spent more time thinking and researching and plotting. But I’m addicted to the story so that’s good. I figured out something amazing about the bad guy and why he needs Savi. I’d written a synopsis for this book, but the story is taking on a life of it’s own and that’s always magical (as well as messy and a ton more work!).

–Friday and Saturday were headache hell. Sunday morning I felt a bit better and was finishing my French toast with blueberries and bananas when I had a wave of nausea. It came and went in a few minutes, a lot like being pregnant. I Am Not Pregnant! But I am over this headache, so I marched my butt to the pharmacy the second they were opened and got the super Sudafed that requires a driver’s license and blood sample to buy. So far by at 5pm on Sunday I’m doing better. Fingers crossed it works and I don’t have to go to the doctors to treat an annoying sinus infection. FYI, no fever, no congestion, no real illness. The symptoms are classic sinus crap.

–I told Wizard I want a goat. Guys…his expression was hilarious. But being Wizard, he recovered quickly and told me I can’t because, and I’m quoting here, “Goats break in the house when you’re asleep and eat the shirt off your back. We can’t afford to replace all our shirts.” Then we had this long and serious discussion about when it’s appropriate to get a goat. We agree on the parameters, LOL! Spoiler alert, I won’t be getting a goat.

–Turbo, with his dad’s help, video-called us twice. We miss him! But Turbo called us because he wanted to check on Maggie :-) Turbo told his mom that “Maggie fought the monsters, hurt her stomach and had to go in an ambulance, but the monsters are in jail.” How cute is that? Kids have such fun imaginations and his parents really encourage his stories. We should be able to go visit him next Saturday.

–PROMO ALERT: If you haven’t read the Savaged Illusions Trilogy, you still have time to preorder the boxed set of all three books at the special price of $3.99. Click on the image to order your copy now!

That’s it for me. My weekend was fine, not exciting, not as productive as I hoped, but no dramas or llamas, so I count that a win! How was your weekend?

Wow. That was a weekend, wasn’t it. And goats! 🤣🤣🤣 Turbo is so awesome. Maybe he’ll grow up to be a writer like his grandma! So glad Maggie is better and 🤞 the Sudafed works!

We did pancakes and Mexican food. Okay. Jake and I did pancakes and Mexican food. While everyone else went to siren test, we went in search of a Styrofoam outdoor faucet cover. We’re looking at single-digit lows and highs below freezing for the next week. I had covers for the two in the back but the one for the faucet on the north side of the house disappeared. All fixed now.

Sunday was layed back. Did some DVR catching up, started the audio book of SHADOWS IN DEATH. The new In Death release hits my Audible app at midnight tonight. I also set up extra “covers” on the cat beds and made a little cave out of old knit sheets and a large dog bed under the porch bench for the ferals. Hoping they’ll snuggle in during the upcoming arctic nights.

Good to see family. Good food. Good books. Can’t complain. Have a great week, everyone. And stay warm if your weather is headed downhill!

Wow, that headache sounds awful. I hope the super duper strength Sudafed worked. If not, did you call the Dr.? You may have a sinus infection. Those headaches are NASTY!

Great news on Maggie feeling better. Bet she will be one super happy pup when that cone goes away. She’ll probably walk you to the trash can with it  .

That’s cool that you you have a hold on the bad guy’s need for Savi.

My weekend was not one of my better weekends. Hubs ticked me off big time. On Saturday he still was not in the age group for the vaccine here in OH but I have signed him up all over the place and picked up all kinds of papers and data for him. Let’s just say he was mean.

While vacuuming today I noticed my less than a year old vacuum’s chord is splitting from up inside the unit. I have a call in to Shark right now.

It’s been very chilly here. At 12:30am it was 4F and I hear that it is supposed to be even colder this coming weekend. Glad the furnace works :).

    Have a great afternoon!

Silver, goats are so funny :-) I don’t really want a goat, but they’d be fun to visit, especially baby goats.

I bet Jake was the hit of the Pancake Breakfast, alone with the bacon you usually make. Glad you were able to get the faucet covers, that’s not something we have to worry about here.

I listened to Shadows In Death and enjoyed it. I’m sure the cats and dog will appreciate the extra layers of warmth. When I give Maggie extra blankets, I always image she’d get under them. Nope, she builds a foxhole with the blankets piled in a circle and sleeps in the middle. As long as she stays warm, it works for me.

Hope you guys are stay warm with no damage from the artic blast!

Viki, the Sudafed is helping. Id’ go to the doctor if I though it crossed the line. But I don’t want to go on antibiotics unless is truly needed. I think the ringing in my head just exasperates everything so feel free to ignore my complaining :-)

I can picture Maggie dragging the cone out to the trash can, LOL.

Ugh I’m so sorry it was such a frustrating weekend after you did all that work to help your husband get set up for the shots. You can only control so much. I’m not sure why he’d be mean when you’re trying so hard.

That’s aggravating on your Shark vacuum cord splitting like that. They should take care of it (I hope!).

That’s brutal cold! You guys are all getting hit, while we’re hitting the 70s here. I feel guilty.

Stay warm and I hope your eye and face have healed up from the lemon tree scratch.

Derp. I totally brainfarted out yesterday. Anyway… I bet you’re looking forward to the cone being off almost as much as Maggie. Yay for magical book moments! Sorry about your headache and your sinus problems. Yay for Sudafed! LOL about the goat. Oh, that Wizard. Yay for Turbo time, even if it isn’t in person. Yep, he’s a cutie-patootie. Yay for the box set coming out! And yay for no dramas or llamas. =o)

I think my weekend extended into yesterday. Not much going on here. I finished the edit notes last night and I’m ready to start hammeing away at the manuscript. I made a lemon oil cake by tweaking my recipe for chocolate oil cake. It’s not exactly right yet, so I’m not handing out the recipe. I mean, it’s good, but it could be better. I have the technology, I can rebuild it. ;o)

B.E, I don’t know how you keep up with blogs and social media, so getting here at all impresses me :-)

Wizard, Maggie and I will all be thrilled to have the cone off.

LOL, I love the way you tackle baking! I don’t due to time and fat issues, but I live through your baking :-)

And that’s a big achievement to have all the edit notes. Probably a good thing to take a break before tacking the revision sin the manuscript. Doing something else like baking gives our brains (subconscious) a little time to plot and plan.

Hope your week is off to a good start!
