Weekend Roundup

A bit of writing, fun with Turbo and walks with Maggie–that sums up my weekend :-) On the writing front, I’m doing small, quick writing sprints then walking away to stay ahead of my cranky internal editor.

Today, Wizard is grudgingly going to jury duty. For a couple years, he’d wanted to get called, but now he has a several projects he’s working on and is annoyed. Isn’t that always how it goes?

As for me, I’ll be doing some writing, and pushing myself to begin some very light strength training. I’m not going to return to the gym for awhile, so I’m going to try something here at home. I know I’ll be sore, but given how quickly I recovered from fighting with that dog that tried to attack Maggie, I think with patience, I can do it. I need to do something because when I’m avoiding mirrors like they’re spreading Covid, LOL.

So that’s my weekend, how was yours?

Yay for writing, for Turbo Time, and for fun with Maggie! The sprints sound like a good idea, especially if they tamp down that pesky internal editor. Poor Wizard. Yep, that’s always the way. Good for you for trying to get back into shape. And for a quick recovery after your adventure there.

I did yardwork this weekend and I’ll do it again, just you watch me. Three of the gardens are cleared of leaves now, the south plot is cleared and ready for things to grow. I also made big strides on the edits – 78% done making notes and I’ve already entered 4 pages worth of notes. I’m way off my deadline, but it’ll get done and hopefully be ready to publish by mid-April at the latest.

Writing, Turbo Time, and Maggie + exercise! Yayayayayyay! Jury duty? Ugh. I went YEARS without getting called. Then got called up twice in about 18 months. No way will any attorney ever sit me on a jury but I have to go and sit with the masses. It’s been a few years so 🤞. Of course, I probably just jinxed myself.

Busy weekend–First Saturday pancake breakfast with the Kids and Jake. I didn’t go to siren test but might everyone, including the BiL and SiL at our fave Mexican restaurant. Jake was a good boy there too and the food, as always, was awesome!

I got scheduled for my first Covid vaccine (this Friday), ordered a new keyboard with Christmas $$, did some clean-up on some scenes, finished a couple of chapters previously started, and I think I figured out what’s next. I also looked at pictures for the cover. No title yet. Working on that too.

Oh! And I discovered a new fave TV/cable show: Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham, on STARZ. The two male stars of Outlander took off in a camper van and drove all over Scotland looks at the sites and culture. Their impromptu bit on “hunting the haggis” had me snorting Diet Coke out my nose. Heck, even LG is watching now. LOL

And that’s it for me. A new week, hopefully new words, and life as usual. Have a great one, all!

Sounds like you had a good weekend. You had Turbo time, wrote and walked with Maggie. All big pluses in my book!

I feel for Wizard. Serving jury duty is an honor but after all the time he wanted to serve and was free to do so it just goes to figure they’d call him when he had projects in the works. Never seems to fail ;).

I hope you are not over doing it with the strength training. Take it slow. I found so many friends who think on day one, “this is easy, I’ll just do a little more.” Then they feel crippled for days. A few never even went back to the workout :(.

My weekend was good. Middle came over Saturday a 8am and youngest took the four of us out for breakfast. Hadn’t done that in maybe 25 years. I was very nice.

When we got back middle looked at my computer and found that it is 5 years old and it’s wifi chip is for 2.4 ghz. So we ordered a new chip to convert the computer to pick up a 5 ghz signal. Until then I will have my slower speed.

Today I tried to Murphy’s Oil Soap my floor. It still doesn’t look beautiful but is certainly better than it has been. I may just have to suck it up and re-do the floor.

Harrison’s mom called hubs and invited him over tomorrow at 1 to play outside with Harrison. Hubs is bouncing with joy.

I just saw a Cleveland posting that our Gov. is allowing 50 and up to get vaccinated starting this Thursday. I will be trying to book an appointment ASAP. There are almost 3 million of us who will be trying to get the shot right away. Wish me luck. Oh, hubs gets his second shot this Friday.

I have to go work on dinner, whatever that will be ;).

    Have a great afternoon!

B.E., the jury duty service thing is turning into a circus. Poor Wizard.

Wow you did a lot! That’s a lot of yard work, and I believe you’ll do it again :-) And getting so far in your editing goals on top of it is a big set of accomplishments.

Hope Monday is going well for you.

Silver, LOL I hope you didn’t jinx yourself on getting call for jury service.

You’re family gathering at the Mexican restaurant always sounds so fun and delicious.

Yay for scheduled Covid vaccine, new keyboard and work on book (editing and plotting are work!)

Even I’ve heard of Men in Kilts, and I never follow any shows, except some veterinarian shows I watch on the weekend nights Wizard watches sports :-) Glad you’re enjoying it!

    Happy Monday!

Viki, jury duty is something we have to do, but this one is an unorganized clown show. Both of us are having a case of Annoying Monday.

Great advice. I will be sore in my neck and arms, but I’m definitely going very, very slow.

Glad you had a good breakfast out!

Oh sheesh, my computer is over five years old too, I think, and slower. That’s probably why! I hope the new chip arrives soon, and Middle can set it up for you. For now, mine is tolerable, but it’s good to keep in mind.

I love Murphy’s Oil Soap for my cupboards so I can imagine how it helped your floors. I’m sure getting them redone comes with a hefty price tag.

Hubs is going to have so much fun playing with Harrison! That’s so cute :-)

I’m so glad the age has changed in your state and you have can try to get scheduled. I’m crossing my fingers for you. Living in my state…well never mind, I just hope you get yours!

Enjoy your dinner, I’m making taquitos and planning on a big glass of wine to toast goodbye to Monday.
