Weekend Roundup

We had beautiful weather this weekend, slightly coolish and with some clouds. Perfect for walking, so Maggie and I made the most of it. We were able to get into the field since the construction workers aren’t there on the weekends. I’m actually surprised they didn’t have a guard there since they leave heavy equipment and tractors, but Maggie and I really enjoyed it.

Otherwise, I made some cookies, did errands and avoided writing. I hope that just walking away for a few days will help me, we’ll see when I go back to it today. But avoiding writing has helped me clean bathrooms, bake, clean out a closet, dust a couple blinds, buy some sunglasses after wearing badly scratched ones for years and order a couple shirts and one-piece bathing suit…LOL.

That was my weekend, how was yours?

There was a weekend? Oh. Yeah. I guess there was. Yay for Maggie walks and I’m surprised no guard or security fencing on the field. Enjoy it while you can. Yay for cleaning and baking, boo on the book not cooperating. Been there, done that, wear the T-shirt a lot.

Saturday, I fell down the rabbit hole. Research. For a much future book. Land. Maps. Buildings. Floor plans. Long story. Then, when I climbed out of that one, the March Hare dropped by and we zoomed off to Paris via Google street view. Sinjen needed an apartment (which he now has) and the book needed a location for a night club, and I needed directions between all the places like Interpol Paris, Sade’s hotel, the American Embassy, and Notre Dame. Street view is the devil’s child, I tell you!

I did manage to finish a chapter and I keep telling myself that the book is way more written than what my brain is telling me. We’ll see.

Now it’s Monday. And Stormy’s official birthday. And we’re supposed to get rain, which we need! I’m going to churn out new words. Stop laughing. I’m serious! No. Really.

On that note, I need more coffee and then off to work! Have a great week, all. 🥰

Sorry I missed Friday Five. I had one very busy day.

Glad you and Maggie got out for walks in the nice weather. Bet she loved the time outside.

You did quite a bit over the weekend even if you didn’t write. Sometimes Spring cleaning has to come first.

Loved the photo of James’ birthday with you and Wizard.

Our weekend was chilly but nice. Hubs and youngest even got out kayaking twice.

Harrison’s parents got the first shot. They cheated to get it and I got very ticked at them. They signed up before they were allowed but the shot was given when they were allowed. Still, I think it was cheating.

Middle came over and he installed the new board and I now have much faster internet on the computer :).

I made a cake yesterday and today I made French Onion soup. Time for wine  .

    Have a great afternoon!

Yay for cooler weather and for walks with Maggie! Hey, if you need to avoid writing right now, then you need to. It happens. You’ll get there. :hugs:

The weekend here was a blur. I didn’t do anything I was supposed to do. But I did it today and got Rumor Has It loaded for sale on Amazon. Yay. Now I’m gonna be a vegetable for the rest of the evening and long into tomorrow. Not really. I have gardening to take care of. =o)

    Silver, Happy Birthday to Stormy!

It’s impossible to fully fence off the field because it’s the base of the Cleveland National Forest, and they’re are ranches and private property above that area. We always just called it “the field” which is a bit misleading :-) I would imagine they’ll get some security out there soon. In the meantime, I was careful to stay on the dirt paths the tractors made and I stayed away from equipment.

Ha! I’ve been down that rabbit hole! But it’s actually good research and I both praise and curse all things Google, LOL. And yay for getting so many details nailed down for your characters.

Sometimes we just have to trust our creative process.

Hope Stormy had a great day even though I know he already had the awesome party. And hope you had a productive one!

Viki, you were missed! Actually I was hoping you didn’t have a reaction to the shot. You did get it right?

I did get some cleaning done but have a lot more to do, but not the will to do it :-)

I bet Youngest loved kayaking even if it was chilly. He’s the one who had the bruised ribs and couldn’t do it for a while if I recall correctly.

There’s a lot of cheating going on, and general frustration with the shots. There’s just not enough yet, and people are exhausted from the last year. My own frustration level has been high.

Finally you got the part and middle saved the day! It must be a relief to have faster internet now.

I love French Onion soup but have never made it. Enjoy your soup, wine and cake!

Hi Jenn – Yes, I did get the first shot last Wednesday. I had a mild reaction but more than most. My arm was very sore all the way to the wrist and into my trap and pec. It lasted about 36 hours. I was also very tired. Other than that, I was good to go :). Thanks for asking.

I hope you are having a great day!
