Weekend Roundup

**Once again my blog missed the 1:00 am scheduled publishing. No clue why. Frustrating.

It was a good weekend. I hope all of you who celebrate Easter had a great day!

It was Wizard’s birthday yesterday, so we focused more on that than Easter this year. We went out to breakfast for the first time in over a year, and really enjoyed it. We made ribs for dinner. And the coolest gift award goes to Youngest who surprised him with an airbrush set for painting his models and RC Cars. Wizard was stunned and thrilled.

Yummiest prize goes to CPA Boy and Special K for sending these delicious mini cupcakes. What’s really nice is these keep in the freezer, and you can thaw out however many you want on the counter in 20 minutes. Wizard is loving them and all the variety of flavors too. (I had offered to make him a cake, of course, but when these were delivered, he was delighted!)

And Middle Son spent all Saturday with Wizard as they raced together at a track. They hadn’t done that in over a year, and that was special to Wizard too. He said over and over how much he enjoyed spending time with Middle.

Wizard had a good birthday, and that makes me happy.

I’ve got a few writerly things going, and hoping that I can get in some real work time this week. I need to get the Primal Magic on track. I’m not going to get into my struggles, most of you know my process looks like this:

Nope, just not going to talk about the crazy write-and-delete-a-thon going on there. I blame Wizard for distracting me. And Maggie. And Google. Definitely Google–I go to look up one random fact and then next thing you know, I’m learning how to fly an airplane, the 7 secret uses for baking soda, and how the mafia launders their money. It’s like crack people, all the cool information just waiting for me to consume!

How was your weekend?

Ah, the Google Rabbit Hole. Google Maps is my crack. Happy Birthday to Wizard! Baseball Boy’s B-day was yesterday too. We did the First Saturday Lunch thing Saturday to celebrate Easter for Stormy and B-day for BB.

I did some writing. I did some napping. Yesterday was a decent writing day though our schedule got topsy-turvied. Normally, lunch is light every-man-for-himself if hungry and then dinner is big. On weekends, we get take-out. Except First Saturday because BIG lunch so snacking at dinner. Then yesterday, LG decided he was hangry-hungry so he went to grab our usual Golden Chick dinner for lunch. It was tasty and dinner was EMFH.

Sadly, at some point yesterday, Loki went MIA. He hasn’t reappeared this morning and both of us have scoured the house and garage to no avail. 😟 He didn’t come out to eat overnight either. He’s never shown signs of wanting to escape to the Great Wild Ouside but I did notice one of the house-to-garage doors was open a crack. At some point, LG left but I can’t imagine Loki darting outside because the garage door makes a ferocious nosie when it goes up or down. I’d think he’d cower in the darkest corner if he was out there. Anyway, we both had restless nights and no sign of him this morning. I’ve been outside looking just in case. Anyway…

Stormy is coming today at noon. He and BB are out for Easter Monday (church-sponsored schools) and BB has baseball practice and games this afternoon.

So glad y’all can get out a bit more and family time is so precious. Now go work your magic on PRIMAL MAGIC! I’m going to try to stop worrying to get some words done before Stormy arrives. I’ve about got this dang book tamed. Shhh. Don’t tell the book! ;)

Sorry, but I love this graph ;). It really puts it all out there. And I think we can change the labels and it can be used for each and every one of us.

I love the gifts the guys and DIL’s got for Wizard. Very thoughtful and loving.

How nice that you were able to get out for breakfast after a year and be able to enjoy the start of Wizard’s birthday with good food.

Our weekend was a bit different. We went to visit Harrison outside Saturday afternoon. He and Paw Paw had SO much fun. He did not want us to leave. When we told him Paw Paw would be back Monday and would be going inside it gave us the chance to leave.

Sunday we went to middle and DIL’s. She made wontons for dinner. So unexpected and quite the change from my normal Easter dinner. Man were they good!

I sure hope you have had a great day!

Silver, yep, Google is crack for sure.

Oh no on Loki! I can’t imagine what happened. I’m hoping he’s okay. You had LG must be really worried. With any luck, something scared him and he’s hiding.

I bet you’re having a lot of fun with Stormy!

AS for me, we cleaned the rest of the windows and blinds downstairs, so I got little done on writing. But I did a little, so I’ll take that.

I’m thrilled that you’re getting the book tamed! It gives me hope. Today we tackled the down stairs windows (they are HUGE), screens and blinds. All done with that project, but it only left about an hour’s worth of energy to write. Still I’m trying!

Please keep us up to date on Loki.

Viki, I agree, the graph works for most things.

Thanks on our weekend and Wizard’s birthday. It sounds silly to be so excited about a simple breakfast out, but we were :-)

Harrison loves his grandparents, and it sounds like he has a pretty special relationship with your hubby. It’s going to be so fun when the pandemic ends and he can come visit more at your house too! But I’m thrilled that you guys all had such a good time, although it’s hard to see them sad when you leave.

YUM! Your daughter in law really did make a different Easter dinner, but it sounds delicious to me. So glad you enjoyed your time with them!

My day is good, more cleaning chores done, and it did sap some of my writing energy, but it’s worth it. Hope your day is going well too.
