Weekend Roundup

Can you all believe it’s August??? This year is going so fast!

So my weekend was good. Wizard and I are deep in throes of House Fever, and shopping around. We do this every six months to a year,  then get frustrated and stop. It’s pretty routine for us, LOL.

Sunday evening, we went to Youngest son’s for dinner last night to celebrate my birthday (which is actually today). It was amazing. He BBQed tri tip and made cookies, while daughter-in-law made some cilantro rice. All things I love. It was a really nice evening.  While we were talking about houses, daughter-in-law looked up a house that’s pretty much around the block from them and showed us on her phone. I was sitting there thinking how danged lucky we are to have a daughter-in-law is was encouraging us to move into their neighborhood.

Today I’m meeting Biker Witch for coffee, then Wizard and I are going to dinner–probably at the Cheesecake Factory. Because Covid is escalating again, we kept our plans casual for my birthday this year.

I’ve gotten lost in the weeds on my book, so yesterday afternoon I printed my original notes on this book, and am mulling over some real problem points to solve the issues. The notes are really helping me get the right focus. I’m also accepting that the Wing Slayer books are complex to write, even if they don’t appear that way when reading them. And it takes me longer right now due to life distractions and limiting my time at the computer.

So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Yay for good kids, good food and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! 🥳Your DiL makes me smile. I keep trying to get my kids to move into our neighborhood. It would be so much easier wrangling Stormy. Who is coming today while Baseball Boy does in-service training at school. Sounds like you had a great weekend and fun plans for your B-day. The book will come in its own bloody time. I discovered that with GHOSTS.

Weekend. It was hot and then rainy and a bit cooler if even more humid. I did some yard work. Not much and in short bursts but branches needed trimming and weeds pulled. I got some new words on the WIP. This book is a departure for me. It really is turning out to be like an episodic TV show with a large ensemble cast. I’m not really focusing on any one character or couple, though a few of them are more…important(?) than the others. I guess they’re like the main leads but the others all have stories too. It’s weird headspace for me but kinda interesting because I’m telling the story of these people “as it happens.” Sort of. Anyway…

Not much else happened. We aren’t much for excitement. ;) Have a great week! 🥰

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I am so glad you happy that you have such a great DIL. Not only does she make the stuff you like to eat but it looks like she’s rather traditional and would love to have you living in their neighborhood :).

Sounds like dinner was yummy! I hope tonight out with Wizard is fantastic too. I’m wondering which cake you pick for dessert. I always got Lydia’s chocolate cake.

How is Wizard’s back? Does he have an appointment with his doctor? Does it seem to be related to the back issue he had where he underwent surgery? Sure hope it gets resolved and he’s out of pain.

Did you and Biker Witch just have coffee or did you go shopping too? Did you buy something fun?

My weekend was standard. Went and picked up 400 pounds of salt for the water softener. Because I have hurt my right leg I was not able to help take it to the basement. Hubs and youngest took it down but didn’t put it away correctly so I figure Wednesday I’ll fix it.

My brownies smelled up the house quite nicely :). But nothing else happened out of the ordinary.

    Enjoy your day!

Silver, it would be great for all of you to live in the same neighborhood with Stormy. We would love to do that with Turbo, but that’s just not in the cards :-)

    Thanks on my birthday!

The rain is good, but humidity sucks. Yay for a little yard work and words. It all counts! On the episodic-like book, things are different today and you have more latitude with how you structure your story. Keep going!

Happy Monday! (And hope LG is doing well)

    Viki, Thanks!

Wizard has seen a doctor, and is seeing him again this week. It’s a process to get things done right now with all the fallout of Covid. We just don’t have answers yet.

Biker witch and I just had coffee and it was fun :-)

I don’t think you should be moving a 400lb bag of salt at all. Can’t hubs and youngest put it in the place you want it? That’s a lot of weight to manipulate! I’m really sorry about your right leg :-( Is it getting better?

Brownies always smell sooooo good! I hope you are enjoying them!

Hope your week is off to a great start!
