Suggestions to Break My Reading Slump

I’ve been listening to audio books, but not reading. I’m looking for a recently publish un-put-downable romance to read. I prefer paranormal or contemporary, but there’s little that I actually won’t read.

Any suggestions???

Thanks!!!

While waiting for your next book of the Wingslayer
I have been reading Nora Roberts trilogy
    About Vampires and shapshifters,
The Circle trilogy, Morrgains cross,, Dance of the gods,,Valley of silence.
Its a love story, lots of fighting 🧛‍♂️,
Shapshifters, and time travel, from present days,
It kept me up at night wanting snd needing to finish them.

Don’t Play With Odin by Cynthia Eden.

I hope you had a wonderful birthday.

    Have a great day!

I’m in a reading slump myself, so I’ve got nothing for you today. Sorry. :hugs:

Two suggestions because you need to read/listen to the first book first. Plus Lorelei King is an amazing narrator if you want to do audio. Darynda Jones. A BAD DAY FOR SUNSHINE (Sunshine Vicram #1) and A GOOD DAY FOR CHARDONNAY (SV #2). There are unfinished threads in #1 that are answered in #2. It’s mostly a contemporary romantic suspense but there are some “magical” undertones. The snark is outstanding–vintage Jones, ALL the characters well-defined and interesting, and lots of secrets to be unravelled. I’ll give you a hint. Single mom Sunshine returns to her hometown, teen daughter in tow, because she’s just been duly elected as sheriff. Only she didn’t run for the position. How’s that for a set up? ;)

Also, if you’re looking for something a little slower and in the magical realism category, Heather Webber’s THE LIGHTS OF SUGARBERRY COVE. It’s a slow burn romance with depth and a tale of family as sweet as magnolia blossoms.

These books got me out of my slump but sort of put me back in because they’re so good and just hit the spot! 🥰

    Hope you find something!

    I had a good birthday :-) Thanks!

B.E., I hear you. I can’t make myself open a book, which is just weird. But we all go through slumps :-)

Silver, thanks! The Darynda Jones one sounds intriguing. I’m repeating myself here, but I’ve been avoiding opening a book (and writing) and feel like I NEED to break this cycle. Yet I can listen to audio books with no problem. Weird.

Since I can’t read a book for longer than about 5 (maybe 10) minutes if I’m lucky, audio books are saving my sanity. And the narrator can make or break a book. Lorelei is awesome and Darynda is always funny even when I’m rolling my eyes. I gave up on her Charley Davidson books before the end but this new series just hit the spot when I was in a slump (with the first book) and then again when I re-listened to the first to prep for the secondl I got the first book from the library and have since bought it and I just flat-out bought the second.

Anyway, I hope you find something that hits the spot and gets you out of the slump. 🥰

Silver, I just bought the first book in her new series on Audible. It dawned on my that I enjoy audio books right now so why fight it? Thanks!
