A Wizard Story :-)

Wizard had some oral surgery on Monday. That went well. But Wizard is pretty funny coming out of anesthesia. On the way home, he’s giving me directions despite me knowing the way, but he knows how directionally challenged I can be so that didn’t surprised me.

Then a car in the next lane nearly swerved into us. I swore and Wizard pipes up with, “You’re a crazy driver.” I rolled my eyes. Trust me, that was just nonsense stuff. He drives like a Nascar Driver, so…yeah…I ignored it. He rambled on with more random stuff then suddenly decided that he needed a plastic bag out of his pocket and took off his seat belt.

I yelled at him to put it on.

He argued that it wasn’t a big deal and I was being weird about a seatbelt.

Finally he gets the danged plastic bag and holds it up like a prize and spends another minute trying to put the seat belt back on with his other hand. I was looking for a place to pull over, fix his seat belt and duct tape his hands to his sides. Just kidding, I didn’t have any duct tape in the car. But he finally got the seat belt latched.

Then started looking for the plastic bag. He searched the center console frantically for the plastic bag and was very worried about this plastic bag.

I rolled my eyes so hard, I didn’t need my rearview mirror to see behind me.

A moment later, Wizard discovered the plastic back that he was still holding up in the air like a prize and laughed.

Then he fell asleep and pretty much slept the rest of the day. At dinner, he had no memory of any of this, LOL!

Guys he only had light sedation. It’s too funny. I’m sure I’m just as loopy, but it’s more amusing when it’s him and I can tell this story on my blog because he never reads my blog :-) FYI, he seems to be doing fine.

Happy Wednesday! How’s your week going?

🤣🤣🤣 Poor Wiz. I am glad his surgery went well and you are a wonderful wife. Thanks for sharing! I have an LG story–when we were stationed in Virginia at the JAGC school, we did lots of sightseeing. He got injured on one of these trips. The ER doctor gave him heavy-duty Percocets. I had to call a couple of his friends to met us so they could help me get him up the stairs to bed. He was babbling about the Union soldier who attacked him on the battlefield (yes, we were at a Civil War battlefield and he was hurt in the parking lot… 🙄 ). He insisted they put him in for a Purple Heart. Needless to say, he never took Percs again!

One more story–seatbelt this time. When Only was small and in a booster, she decided to climb out. As I was doing 60 on an Interstate. I whipped across four lanes of traffic (safely–with blinker and watching for oncoming traffic), stopped on the shoulder and informed her that the car would not go unless she was buckled in. We were on the way to a birthday party so…yeah. A cop pulled up behind us, lights going. He got out, came to my window and inquired if everything was okay. I explained that the car wouldn’t go unless she was buckled in her booster. He nodded sagely and opened the back door and leaned in. He ordered her into her seat and buckled the cross bar and informed her that kids had to be buckled because it was !The Law! After that, she became fanatic about seatbelts, even berating her grandfather if he didn’t immediately buckle up.

    Happy Hump Day! 🥰

Poor Wizard! Hubs comes out of anesthesia goofy too. It’s good to hear that he is healing well.

I love Silver’s stories too. I can see the COP setting Only on a course of seatbelt safety for all :).

Not doing much today. Woke up with a nasty neck issue. Even hurts to touch it :(.

    Have a great day!

Silver, LG deserved the purple heart, LOL! We’re so funny coming out of anesthesia or on heavy meds :-)

I remember you telling me the seatbelt story at one of the conferences. I love when cops help shape our kids that way. I love it!

Hope your day is going well.

Viki, I suspect we all are a little goofy after anesthesia.

Very too on Silver’s story. I love it too.

I’m sorry about your neck, that’s pretty miserable. Hope you feel better soon.

ROFL… umm, I mean ‘poor Wizard’. Of course, I don’t have any room to laugh because I get stoned on Alka Seltzer Cough and Cold.

And yes, I’m a day late. I thought yesterday was Tuesday. Derp.

B.E, you must be fun when you have a cold, LOL. I tend to get wired on those kinds of meds.

It’s getting harder and harder to keep track of the days of the week!
