You Are Enough

Well, I pretty much have done the best I can for Christmas this year. Will it be enough?

The answer is yes.

And yet…so many of us feel like it’s not enough.

I’m here to remind all of us, that we are enough. We give enough gifts, we bake enough treats, we decorate enough, we clean enough. But we are not machines, we are all people doing the best we can in whatever circumstances that define our lives at the moment. And it’s enough.

We’re enough.

We love with out whole hearts, we try our best most times, we fall short or fail sometimes, and through it all, we are enough.

For all these we love, I think (and I’m talking to myself here too) the best gift we can give to our family and friends is to love and respect ourselves as much we do others. We’ll be stronger, more confident and better friends, lovers and relatives for it.

You are enough. In fact, you’re better than enough–you are the one and only YOU.

YOU are enough. And YOU are enought. And YOU! YOU! We’re ALL enough! To paraphrase Oprah. This is a message so many of us need to be reminded of, especially this time of year. Love is the way. Love is ALWAYS enough. I’ll add that we also need to adapt. Sometimes, Life throws us a curve*. Sometimes we don’t get to spend holidays with family. And that’s okay. We figure it out and we still celebrate. Because that’s what we do.

Also, I thought I was done at the store. Nope. I’m headed back to the grocery store to lay in supplies to be delivered. Fun times! And yes, I am going just as soon as it’s light outside, hoping to miss the crowd!

    Merry Christmas! 🎄🥰🎄

*Baseball Boy tested positive, despite vaxxes. We’re waiting to hear on Only and Stormy’s tests, also vaxxed.

You’re better than enough, too! :HUGS:

And yes, we’re all doing what we can do, the best we can at any given moment – even if we don’t sometimes feel like it is our ultimate best. And we should be satisfied, at least, if not proud.

Today, our Christmas present to ourselves and each other will happen. Finally. I’ll talk about it on Friday as one of my five. As long as nothing else comes along to harsh it. :fingers crossed: And since I’ll be up there anyway, like five minutes from the pet rescue… ROFL I probably won’t come home with as dog, but the possibility is out there. Considering I watched a darling video today of rescue dogs picking their own Christmas presents, the urge for a dog is high today.

Excellent post. When I read it very early this morning I thought how much we all need to hear these words from you this time of year. We are all always trying to get “it all” done. Sometimes we work so hard to have it all done and perfect that we don’t get to enjoy the time with those we love. So, it is enough. As you stated, we are enough.

That said, I have done enough for now.

Have a fantastic afternoon and if we don’t hear from you until after Christmas, have a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Silver, I’m so sorry about Baseball Boy. It’s everywhere, unfortunately. I’m hoping BB is not having symptons, or at the very least, mild symptoms. As much as I 110% believe in vaccines, we have to be realistic as viruses mutate. I hope Only and Stormy are not positive for your peace of mind.

The stress lately is snarling and snapping at all of us from several fronts. Which is what I hoped to convey with my post.

And I agree with you, love is vital. As is compassion and trying to be a little more understanding. (I’m working on it!)

Sorry you had to go back to the store.

    Merry Christmas to you too!

B.E., yep, I agree! Knowing we tried should be the key. We don’t need perfect (I struggle with that all the time.) And we need to remind ourselves that perfect is boring :-)

Okay, now I must do a Friday Five to find out what this present is! I was debating because it’s Christmas Eve, but now it’s happening for sure!

It’s risky to be that close to a rescue place, LOL! I get how strong that pull is especially after seeing a cute video that tugs at your heart strings. I feel it at times, even though I literally have my dream dog, i’ve been thinking about Great Danes lately. I mean…NO NOT HAPPENING but that pull is there. But Maggie’s enough, and your special pet-friend will happen when you’re both ready…maybe today, LOLOL!! Or maybe another year or two.

Merry Christmas to you and yours too!

Viki, sometimes when I write these types of blogs, I wonder if it’s just me. I’m glad you reassured me it’s not. Yesterday was one of those overtired-and-worried days (MUCH better today), and I just went with what I truly felt.

I hope you and your family have a Merry Christmas!

Well, now, I don’t want to cause you undo posts. Here’s the big secret. Today, we closed on a little strip of property (about a third of an acre worth) that borders our land on the south, so we now actually own the land half our garage was built on and the south yard we’ve been mowing. It’s only about 30 ft wide, but it stretches the whole 400-some feet deep. Now you can take the day off on Friday, if you want to. =o)
    :hugs:

B.E., that’s great news!! And probably something of a relief to have the property legally secured. I’m so happy for you!
