Weekend Roundup

To sum up, it was a dreary weekend, both in weather and just stuff. Plus I’m cranky cause I can’t do yoga. I normally do power Vinyasa yoga about four times a week (sometimes three), to give my joints and muscles time to rest between practices. But I must have pushed a little too hard in the last couple weeks, causing RA and Age gang up on me and register a formal complain that’s annoyingly painful. Right now it’s in my neck, spine, left elbow and hips. Nothing is seriously wrong, but for the time being I’m sticking to some light walking until the complaints dial down to a mummer. I love yoga, can you tell??? Not doing it is adding to the dreary feeling.

Moving on, I made Wizard a thick rich cheesecake and hope it came out okay. Since I haven’t made this recipe before, it’s hard for me to tell if it’s done or overdone. I guess we’ll find out today, LOL. Then because I’m know he loves strawberry cheesecake, I decided to making a strawberry glaze topping late yesterday afternoon.  He was so happy when he came home and found out!

The Walking Wino’s group didn’t quite work out for me this time. I guess the main coordinator is on vacation, so the backup chose a winery that is not at a vineyard but rather, in a tourist spot. I made an attempt to go anyway just to meet people, but I couldn’t find a parking spot. Very frustrating! And since this was a tourist spot with lots of drinking, I decided not to risk park a few blocks away and walk alone to the meetup winery. But I’ll try again next month! They have other walks, but those are located at lakes and parks, and I’d like to meet the people in a public place first before I go to the other locations. I believe women going to these places alone should use some common sense caution.

One good thing about this weekend is I found myself thinking about book ideas :-) Just thinking about it is a good step for me.

Finally, today should be a very good day because it’s Wizard’s birthday! We’re going out to breakfast, making his favorite ribs for dinner and having cheesecake with strawberry glaze and whipped cream! Not a bad way to start the week :-)

So how was your weekend?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WIZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It’s also Baseball Boy’s b-day. ;) ) Bummer on the walking wine thing. The parking and tourists would be a deal breaker for me and I totally get not going off to wild places when you know no one. Due diligence always! I bet the cheesecake is awesome and the strawberry glaze is a plus for Wiz. Ugh on the body rebellion and no yoga. Hope you mend quick and get back into the bend of things.

We had pretty weather, including rain last night and today. We NEED the rain so yeah, it’s pretty! Saturday was siren test and Mexican with Only and Stormy. Baseball Boy’s team was in a tournament. Right after lunch, we discovered there’d been a high-speed and active shooter situation on the route LG and I would have taken home. The incident had moved on to the east where there was a standoff on the turnpike and drivers had to take cover. We saw numurous OHP and local PD running hot enroute. Crazysauce. We were glad we’d lingered over lunch!

Then it was OSU softball Saturday night and Sunday afternoon. They swept Baylor in conference play so they currently tied for the conference lead with Texas, with OU in 3rd place only because they’ve played 3 conference games to OSU and TU’s 6. Conference tournament will be crazy.

Didn’t do much else this weekend. Now I feel all guilty about not working and today is Wallyworld plus Stormy coming after school. LG has a funeral so Stormy will be mine for the duration. LOL We’ll see how much I get done and how much I whine about not getting anything done.

On that note, time to put on real clothes and get out there to do some adulting. I really don’t like having to people first thing in the morning but there’s stuff I need or we’ll starve this week. Cheers to a great week for us all!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY WIZARD🍰🎈!

I am so sorry that you haven’t been able to do yoga lately. It really is annoying when you can’t do your workout. I’m glad you are still going for walks. I tend to pout and do nothing when I can’t workout.

The cheese cake sounds wonderful. Wizard is fortunate to have a fantastic baker in the house 🥰. The Strawberry glaze will be a fantastic touch.

That stinks not being able to get a parking spot for walking winos but you were smart not to park a distance away and have to walk. I’m sorry but with the state this country is in right now, it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Exciting that book ideas are coming to mind 😊.

Our weekend was cold and snowy. The inspection on the house youngest a contract with was awful, so they were able to pull out. Here’s to keep on looking.

Middle is still testing positive for Omicron but is finally feeling better.

I bought a new knife sharpener and put it on the counter. The suction grabbed before I did anything. I couldn’t get it to release so I took a letter opener and broke the seal. All was okay. So I tried it again today and again it latched on to the counter. Youngest came over and decided to force it off as I’m saying “Don’t, you’ll break it.” Guess what? Yup, he broke it, which means I can’t return it. I got it on a steal and now it’s back up to normal price. I guess I’ll just do w/o until I find a good deal again. BOYS!

I hope you and Wizard enjoy those ribs and cheese cake! Again – Happy Birthday Wizard!

Silver, I didn’t think the area would be that crowded, and I knew they had a designated parking lot, but it was hopelessly and I’m pretty safety conscious. I’ll let you all know on the cheesecake as we’re having it tonight :-)

    Happy Birthday to Baseball Boy!

So glad you guys got some rain and pretty weather. And even happier that you took your time over lunch and missed being in the middle of the active shooter situation! That is freaking scary because it’s so wildly unpredictable. I’m hope no law enforcement or civilians were hurt.

The tension is ratcheting up with year teams. Hope the wins keep coming!

Yay for a nice weekend and send the guilt packing. You have a life outside of work and the right to live it or just relax.

I’m so sorry LG has a funeral. Those are important but hard.

Hope you have a great afternoon/evening with Stormy!

Viki, it definitely makes me restless when I can’t stay on my yoga routine. But since the pain built over the last week, I’m guessing my body just needs a break. Walking does help but is more at the mercy of the weather.

I’m all for safe rather than sorry too. And this is not an environment I could predict people’s actions. I couldn’t believe how crowded it was on a Sunday afternoon. Parking was impossible. But I’m happy that I’m trying to get outside my comfort zone a bit :-)

I’m so sorry on your son’s house, but better to find out and let it go now, then buy it and be saddled with a nightmare money pit. As disappointing as it is, he’s making good decisions. I’m hoping they find the right house soon. It’s a really challenging market.

Oh man, I can relate to that story! Usually it’s Wizard I’m telling, “Don’t break it!” I thinking it’s a guy thing to just force an object to do what they want. And it’s even more disappointing when you’d gotten such a good deal and now the deal is over. Hope you find another knife sharpener soon.

Wizard’s *trying* to wait patiently to taste the cheesecake, LOL. Have a good evening!

Happy Birthday, Wizard! I hope his day is awesome. And yay for strawberry cheesecake! Sorry to hear your group thing didn’t work out. Yeah, holding it in a touristy spot where you can’t find parking probably wasn’t the wisest idea. Sorry also to hear you’re feeling achy and junk so you can’t do your yoga. :hugs: Yay for thinking about writing, though. Enjoy helping Wizard eat his cheesecake!

The weekend was as usual – bland. I got the fridge cleaned. And I did our taxes. Today I had 5 spreadsheets to do and I also hit Wallyworld. All that pretty much torched my gumption for doing anything else. Here’s to a productive week ahead.

B.E., Wizard had a great day, thanks! He loved the strawberry cheesecake too :-)

Yeah, cleaning the fridge and doing taxes in the same weekend is almost cruel and unusual punishment. Although having both things done is a great feeling so there’s that. Hope you get your gumption up and running for a great week!
