Movie Time!

Yesterday, Wizard and I went to the movies for the first time since Covid barged into our lives. We went in the middle of the day and I think there were four other people in the theater with us. I think we were probably safe :-)

We saw THE LOST CITY with Sandra Bullock. It’s an old story: Reclusive romance writer gets dragged into one of her own stories kind of plot. This one had a few fun twists too. We enjoyed it.

The first scenes with the romance writer really hit home with me. She’s struggling to write the final scene, but with every version of the scene she writers, she’s hearing critiques in her head and hits the delete button. Wizard was laughing and elbowing me. Yep, that’s me! The rest of the movie was entertaining. I was totally surprised by Brad Pitt being in the movie too.  Channing Tatum was also in it.

For me personally, it was nice to see three well-known actors not taking themselves too seriously as they made a movie meant to entertain. But maybe that’s just me :-)

Anyone else seen any good movies lately?

Fun! I’m glad you two got to go see a movie at a real cinema. Did you get popcorn? I think it’s been 20 years since I was in a theater. The only time I see new-ish movies is when we get free pay channels on the satellite. And it’s been a while. We get Showtime this weekend, so maybe something good will be on then.

Yay for a movie date! Glad y’all had a good time and I’m totally on board for an empty theatre. Not due to Covid but because I just don’t like people! ;)

I remember “Romancing the Stone” and laughing most of the way through, with a few awws along the way. It was done for sheer silly fun and I enjoyed it. I’ll have to watch for “The Lost City” to come out on cable. I like all those actors. And I can totally relate to that scene!

    Happy Hump Day!

Lost City sounds like a fun movie. I’m glad you two went. Hearing about the first scene, I think we all can see you there 😊. You’ve always had that critique voice in your head. It’s nice to know that there are still some easy going fun movies out to see.

I haven’t been to a movie since the second THOR movie came out. Hubs just won’t go and eldest used to buy every movie and lend us the DVD. Now with them moving I may get the hubs to go to the theater but I won’t hold my breath.

It’s a warm but rainy day today. It’s one of those where it would be so easy to curl up with a book and fall asleep.

I hope you are having a good day :-D .

B.E., Wizard got popcorn–he loves movie popcorn. I didn’t want anything.

We’ve always enjoyed going to the movies before Covid. And weirdly, we’ve always liked going more in the day than night even when we were youngish. Plus Wizard can get his popcorn :-)

Silver, LOL on people. I only don’t like annoying people, or people I don’t know who sit right next to me.

If you liked Romancing the Stone, I think you’ll like this :-)

A lot of writers will relate to that first scene!

Viki, it’s true, and that voice got worse with every book I wrote. But that’s another blog. I was amused at Wizard’s reaction too. He had to put up with the crazy writer me :-)

I really liked Thor too! But I didn’t keep up after that.

You need a movie buddy. Maybe if you get hubs to do it once, he’ll change his mind. But Wizard’s always willing. He doesn’t mind chick flicks or dog movies either. In turn, I willingly go to his sports and car movies and usually enjoy them.

It sounds like a perfect reading day! And feel you on the falling asleep. I do the same thing, and its frustrating.

    Happy Wednesday!
