Wednesday Story

Just a Wednesday funny. This year I will have one of those milestone decade birthdays. I haven’t thought much about it because we’ve been focused on other stuff. But…

Monday morning I had an appointment to get some routine blood work done. (Why I would schedule that for 8 am on a Monday after a weekend of open houses makes me question my judgement, lol)  There was a line, but I finally got signed in and found the last chair to sit. Then I saw a mature woman come in, and debated if I should offer her my chair because I’m younger…and that’s when it dawned on me that I was probably as old as her. LOLOL! I’m hoping I didn’t snort in laughter at myself, because that might look strange.

Anyway, before I could offer her my chair anyway because she looked like her health wasn’t great, another man in the office offered and she declined.

I got my blood work done, then crossed the parking lot — and nearly got hit by a car. Well it wasn’t that close, but close enough to scare me into jumping back.  The lady parked and never noticed me. I’m guessing she really needed caffeine :-) I went into the Starbucks, and no lie, I saw 4 motorcycle cops sitting at the table with a view of the parking lot. If the woman had hit me, I would have had some good witnesses!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

She didn’t need caffeine. She was probably talking or texting on her phone (via bluetooth).

I get you on the age thing. Whenever someone famous dies and I see their age I get all freaked out. Some are slightly older than me. Others? Younger! I don’t feel my crooked numbers–at least mentally. Physically? That’s a different story. Still, I can’t possible be as old as my driver’s license insists I am. It’s a big fat liar!

Hope the blood work comes back clean. And stay aware in parking lots. Stupid people are everywhere!

Have a great rest of the week! 🥰

First, I’m glad you were aware of your surroundings as did not get hit by that idiot woman. It’s also kind of cute that you had a table of cops right there if needed.

It is SO true that we never really realize how old we are. Our up coming milestone birthday is within a couple weeks of each other and I do the same thing with people. I’m always offering to hold the door, carry, etc for “old” people. When I look closer I am probably older and in worse physical health HA HA. It must be our good up bringing.

I sure hope you are having a great day!

Silver, she could have been. She had another person in the car with her too. They were just oblivious.

Wizard does the exact same thing as you. It’s just weird. We don’t feel mentally the same age as our driver’s license claims we are :-)

Let’s all have a great week!

Viki, I’m glad I was aware too! I’m surprised how many times part of my brain is paying attention, while another part is thinking about stuff. Maybe just training from walking so much with Maggie :-)

Yep, I knew we were hitting that same milestone around the same time :-) Manners and kindness is something I admire in people. Many people helped me out when I was juggling kids, or pushing my mom in a wheelchair, and I always appreciated it. Kindness like that can go a long way to make someone’s day better!

It’s stull funny that we get startled by realizing we, too, are aging :-)

My day has been fabulous, hope yours is too!

I get that more with Hubs than me, though, because he’s 16 years older. I see people on TV who are younger than him but look way older. He’s aging well, I guess. Whatever your birthday number is going to be, you look awesome. Here’s hoping your blood work comes out routine. And whew, I’m glad you didn’t get smushed by that inattentive driver. Shame on her. Yay for nearby officers, though. :hugs:
