Weekend Roundup

It’s HOT!! Summer in here in So Cal! Wizard went racing yesterday out in the heat, but he was prepared and came home fine. I appreciate so much that he uses common sense. This kind of heat is dangerous.

My weekend was good. I finally had a couple days that moved at my pace, and I love that. I still did a lot, but I did it on my own timeline without feeling pressured. Plus I made cookies :-) Sunday I went to lunch with a friend I value so much. She’s still working, so we have to meet around schedules, but certain friendships are worth the effort. The only frustrating thing is…well let me back up a bit. I haven’t been feeling great, but I was determined to bring my A game to this lunch. Okay, it was more of a C+ game, but still.

Full makeup, did my hair, choose a cute outfit — black and white striped shirt, white pants, black sandals, and jewelry. I was set. I felt good. I met her at the restaurant. We sat down, ordered some sparkling water and dove into talking. And that’s when I had a sudden nosebleed. In a packed full restaurant. It was my one of my Big Dreads with my nosebleeds come true. I had tissue and eventually it stopped — after getting on my pants. It was, um, a prolific one. Sigh, I tried hard to get the blood out of the pants. It’s faded but still there. I’ll try again tomorrow.

Thankfully, my friend isn’t squeamish and was very helpful. But me and embarrassment got real close in those moments :-) And hopefully no one else saw it. Once that drama was over, we had lunch and a great time. In the scheme of things, it’s wasn’t a big deal.

So overall my weekend was a win – minus a pair of white pants :-)

How was your weekend?

Glad things slowed down and you got in a good visit despite the “distraction.” Try hydrogen peroxide on the stain. If that doesn’t work, try gold Dial bar soap. It has to be the “gold” (orange) kind. Good luck!

It’s hot here too but it is that time of year. We just kicked back and did nothing on Saturday. Sunday was going to be a duo outing to Wallyworld but Real Life intervened during the cooller part of the day and by the time RL skipped merrily along its way, it was too hot to take Jake. LG ended up going late afternoon to get the stuff we were out of. The only productive things I did was refill the bird bath and hose down the outside AC unit to get the dust off the compressor coils.

Oh, I did a little reading on the WIP. Ju-Lo-Wri-Mo is fast approaching and I need to be ready. LOLOL

    Have a good week, all!

Sorry about that nasty heat. Stay inside with the AC. It’s good that Wizard prepared for the heat.

Nice to have the weekend go at a nice pace. What kind of cookies did you make?

Okay, you just knew that something had to happen to mess up you being all “put together.” A nose bleed, could happen to any of us. Sorry about your pants. Did you try hydrogen peroxide? Put a white towel under the spot when you dab it. The towel will get the blood from the back side.

Today the heat finally broke here. It’s only 80. The 90’s are coming back on Wed. but at least we got a little break.

It looks like Harrison is getting a puppy. It’s a 3 month old rescue, golden retriever terrier mix. They should get it this Friday. He’s super excited. It’s been a couple years since they lost Pee Wee, so it’s time.

I just read Silver’s post. Great minds think alike ☺️.

    Have a great day!

    Silver, the peroxide worked, thanks!

The 100+ heat here is a tad early, but summer does as summer wishes :-) Sorry RL derailed your plans to get things done in the cooler hours. I know you’re always good about not taking Jake out when it’s too hot. I limit Maggie as well.

The birdbath and AC are both important so you got the pressing tasks done! Otherwise, staying in the cool house is smart. You really don’t need a heat induced set back right now.

July is approaching fast, but I’m sure you’ll be ready to go! While it’s hard not to expect too much, just remember, it’s to rebuild the habit — so show up and type, and let the words do whatever the want to do!

I’m in full agreement on having a good week!

Viki, great tips from both you and Silver! The peroxide worked! I hadn’t even thought of peroxide.

And it’s true, it can happen to anyone. I’ve just been dreading it since I’m having this issue. It’s amazing, even flying didn’t trigger it — it’s always happens when I’m talking or laughing on the one side. Very annoying, and very startling for people who happen to see it. I feel worse for the spectators, at least I’m used to it!

Yay for the short break from the heat. You get more humidity too which makes it worse.

Oh my gosh, how exciting for Harrison and his family!!! It sounds like they really waited until they were ready to commit to a dog again. I hope they send lots of picture or videos for you to see Harrison and his new puppy! Fun times ahead for Harrison and his new best friend!

I’ll second the great minds comment! Thanks again to you and Silver!
