This weekend was pretty boring. I cleaned the oven, washed all the sheets, dusted blinds, cleaned the outside of my kitchen cupboards and pretty much managed to do nothing interesting :-) Well I did order a couple pies for Thanksgiving. Normally I’d make them, but there’s a lot to do with all my family coming, so I’m managing my time in order to actually enjoying T-Day. I may make some cupcakes for Turbo and anyone else who loves chocolate but that’s pretty easy and a fun project.

Otherwise, I guess the highlight was a movie Wizard and I watched, titled “THE COUPLE” It was about a wealthy Jewish family trying to survive the Nazi’s in Poland. Both Wizard and I really liked it. One thing I particularly liked is it was very suspenseful without showing violence. We understood the violence, we just didn’t have to see it. I thought that was skillfully done.

Oh and another highlight: I started reading Silver’s book, MOONSTRUCK MAFIA: BOSTON.  I’m only a couple chapters in, but really enjoying it! I’m looking forward to reading more!

This week, I have Wednesday booked for babysitting my granddaughter. Otherwise, it’s just more mundane life stuff. That’s okay though, I’ll take mundane over drama any time!

How was your weekend?

Yay for boring! I’ll take that over stressful any day. Ooo, I’ll have to keep an eye out for that movie. And YAY for reading Silver’s book. I loved it. Have fun with your new grandbaby on Wednesday.

The weekend here was pretty quiet. I’ve got some kind of funk going on that made me pretty much not want to do anything but lay around, drinking tea. I did get some editing done and loads of reading. I need to follow your example and attack the cleaning around here. The dustbunnies are threatening to achieve sentience and take over the world. ;o)

Uhm….no violence “behind closed doors” in the book. It’s all pretty much out there in the open. LOL Sorry ’bout that but THANK YOU for reading and enjoying so far!!! Boring but productive is good and I’m all for making family gatherings easy! Poor Uncle Fix-It is the family host by default due to Aunt Hooey being in a wheelchair. It’s just easier but we all pitch in with the cooking and we eat off paperplates so pretty easy cleanup. Rolls and pumpkin pie are my assignment this year.

My weekend was mostly boring too. Only and I got her skirt made and it looks pretty good! It took longer than anticipated because my poor sewing machine hasn’t been used in like 5 years and it didn’t want to cooperate at first. That and threading the machine. Good thing Only has good eyes!

I mostly vegged and listened to books. I’m down to the last installment in Darynda Jones’s Charley Davidson world. Not sure what I’ll pick up next.

We had storms during rush hour this morning so Wallyworld tomorrow. Guess that means I need to get to work on RETRIBUTION. I plan to get right on that. After another cup of coffee. OH! I also washed the potholders I use most often. Something productive after all.

    Have a great week, all!

For boring you still did quite a bit. Cleaning the outside of the cabinets is something I often forget about until I spill something and when I go to clean it up notice how dirty they are. Murphy’s Oil Soap to the rescue.

I’ve had a nasty cold and haven’t done much reading but when I feel better, I am going to dive into Silver’s book too. I just loved all the tid bits while she was writing it and want to give it my full attention.

Took hubs to the dentist this morning and all looked good. I’m just leery because it was a tooth that sped up the dementia. We’ll see how the day goes.

C came by yesterday to get something out of the gun safe and had to break into it. We are now getting a new one :(. He also noticed that our sump pumps (we have a backup) have to be replaced NOW. He hopes to come over tonight after work and replace them since the heavy rain starts tomorrow morning.

Just got off the phone with my health ins guy. I never got anything about the 2025 changes. It seems my premium, just little old me, is going to be $935/m and the deductible will be 7.3K. It’s crazy. I never use that much insurance.

I hope your day is going well.

B.E., yep, I’ll take boring over stressful too.

Ugh, sorry for the funk stuff. It’s best to rest when that stuff gets us. It sucks though. Sure hope you feel better soon!

Silver, reading violence doesn’t bug me, it’s watching it that gets to me. Reading it is different somehow so no worries! It’s kind of like I hate listening to romance on audio, but can read it with no problems. Weird, huh?

I think it’s great that you guys make it easier on Uncle Fix-It. I don’t mind hosting and it really helps when everyone pitches in (and they do).

I’m impressed your sewing machine worked!! Yay! Sorry for the intitial frustrations, but props to Only and her eyes, LOL. I couldn’t thread a needle either. Congrats on getting the skirt done! That’s awesome!

Snort on the potholders. I forget all the time! Also, mine are ragged but work for my hands so I keep them. I was out and about this morning and it was a zoo. I was so frustrated I came home and ordered stuff I need rather than standing in a crazy line. Hope Wallyworld is friendlier and easier for you tomorrow!

Viki, my cupboards are white and when I see Maggie’s dog hair, I know it’s time to clean them! It’s pretty easy though so I can’t complain too much. And yeah, I got stuff done so it was a productive weekending just not exciting :-)

Wow something must be going around. I’m so sorry you had a terrible cold. I haven’t had one in years but remember the misery well.

Uh on on the gun safe! Glad you’re replacing that. C is wonderful to handle that and the sump pump for you. Where would we be without our kids??? Mine are currently hearing my latest Real Life problem and correctly reassuring me I’m doing the right thing. It’s priceless to have their help and support, isn’t it?

Yikes your health insurance is more than mine! I’m shocked. Mine is close though and I feel your pain for sure.

    Hope you feel better soon!
