TGIF!! This month is sure in a hurry just zooming by. At least for me! I can’t believe it’s Thanksgiving already next week! But let’s focus on now and share five random things about our week. Here’s mine:
- Tis the season and Monday I trudge to another town to hit some stores for wine glasses and decor. Surprise! I was not the only one to have that idea…it was so crowded. And then I stood in massive lines so long they wrapped around aisle an didn’t move. After 15 or so minutes of this — I heard an employee tell a customer the lines were long because they had to manually put in each and every bar code. When the lines didn’t move for five minutes–like didn’t budge at all–I left. This was a craft store and people had carts piled crazy high, and I just couldn’t stand there for an hour or two to buy a few things. I went home, ordered some stuff from Amazon and will do without have fancy Thanksgiving decorations. I’m sure my smile and sparkling wit will be enough Plus…we have wine so there’s that! If I’m super ambitious, I might even get some flowers to make the tables look prettier.
- Tuesday we did grocery shopping. Whoa! We have had super small groceries bills lately, and this week we more than made up for it! It was shocking and the selection of produce and meat was frustratingly bad (but of course, there were plenty of cookies, chips and soda!) This store was not making me happy. Then I went to Wal Mart, and guys, it wasn’t bad at all. I found a turkey, got a few other things, all the lines were open and moving and I was out of there in record time! Color me shocked and pleased!
- Wednesday was my Happy Day! I got to see my granddaughter! She’s delightful! Her mom went to Costco then took the dogs for a walk (normally my son walks the dogs but he was out of town on business) while I babysat and we had a blast! Right now Baby Girl likes everyone, but I choose to believe she especially likes me She’s full of smiles and babbling now. At one point I put her on her tummy on her playmat, and watched in shock as she rolled over. At ten weeks! Turns out she’s been doing that for a week or more. But the point is, she was the absolute highlight of my week. I also very much enjoy seeing my daughter in law, and she’s a huge help to me when I’m doing the holiday meals, which I so appreciate.
- Thursday I got a small start on Christmas shopping, and trying to organize Thanksgiving on paper. I like to have a working list and any recipes organized to keep me focused.
- Today I have a tele visit with my doctor to follow-up on my tests. It was supposed to be in office, but they called yesterday and asked if I’d do it by phone. YES!! It’s a long drive so it’s a win for me. The rest of the day is just stuff and maybe I’ll bake some cupcakes. And this weekend I think I’ll stick close to home and keep it productively boring :-).
That’s my five, now I’d love to hear yours! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

This month… this whole year… is moving fast. Sorry your shopping was a bust and wow about the long lines on a Monday. Yay for a pleasant Walmart experience. Yay for seeing Baby Girl. Good luck on the Christmas shopping. Yay for not having to actually GO to the doctor. And yay for productively boring!
1) I’m hitting Wallyworld today with the expectation of not having to go back until after the shopping insanity, so like 12/2. Shopping for 10 days worth of groceries might mean a little larger expenditure today. but it’ll be worth it.
2) I really need to start thinking about Christmas cards and prezzies for the moms (which will need to be shipped).
3) I’m thinking about making a pumpkin cheesecake for TGD. And/or pumpkin pie bread. So I put pumpkin on the grocery list and Hubs was all like ‘we don’t need pumpkin for the cats’… because we give them a little pumpkin every day. LOL
4) Speaking of cats, I think we finally got Sawyer to stop trying to climb around the TV and phone stands. I sprayed Linen-scented Lysol all over the area and then every time he looks like he’s thinking about climbing over there, I bark at him like a big dog. Unpleasant scent plus scary noise seems to have done the trick. It’s been a couple weeks now and he’s staying away like a good boy.
5) The Boyz will be two years old next month. I keep joking with Hubs about them needing a sister and showing him pics of kitties that need a home. I’m so bad. LOL

Time is flying for sure! Ugh on lines but hey, it’s all about the people and the food–especially the wine!–and not the decor. Wallyworld is not bad if you hit it right. Takes me longer because…Jake. And pets. Awww. Baby Girl is awesome–as is her mom! Good on you for being organized. Telemed FTW! That definitely beats the drive. Okay, my five. *thinks hard* 🤔
1. Writing/editing going slow this week, unlike the time! I keep getting involved in the story. I’ve missed this particular set of Wolves, especially Hannah. And yeah, I’ve found a couple of typos in the files I uploaded for publication. 🤦🏼♀️
2. Only is wearing the ribbon skirt today for their NA assembly. I hope someone gets pictures. We’ll be at Stormy’s school for their Thanksgiving program since Only can’t get out of school and Baseball Boy is in Boston for a class.
3. I made beef stew the other night. It was pretty darn tasty but I realized–halfway through my bowl–that I’d forgotten to put in onions. 🤦🏼♀️ Face meet palm.
4. I am addicted to cheese balls. The fake, crunchy kind not the real cheese you eat with crackers kind. Speaking of crackers, we have discovered Blue Diamond Nut-Thins. They are gluten free and pretty darn tasty. I like the almond crackers best but the pecan ones are a close second. Also, a single serving is 19 crackers. That’s a LOT!
5. Pete has decided that I’m pretty much lost in space. In the mornings, he stops eating to escort me to the front door and watches while I feed the ferals. This morning, he followed me into the garage (not unusual) while I was taking out a bag of trash. Then he followed me to the street while I moved “big blue” to the curb as today is trash pick-up day. Then he followed me back to the garage and to the inside door but didn’t come in, his duty done. Cats.
I’ll be doing laundry this weekend and working on the WIP. I might watch some college football. Or not. It’s been a dismal season so far. I might do nothing but play “Bubble Shooter” on the computer. Ah, the possibilities. Have a great one, all!

1. I am so sorry that store was a bust. Wasting time drives me crazy.
2. Prices are terrible and selection is not good but Walmart has been my go to for quite a while now. They are holding up.
3. Baby time is the best. She must be growing like a weed 😊.
4. Good job on the shopping.
5. The tele visit is a win! I hope all went well.
1a. The new pumps are working well. We’ve had rain and snow and allis good.
2a. Eldest text to say they are coming up next week and are going to come over next Friday to visit with hubs.
3a. Got my hair done today.
4a. Had the gutters cleaned.
5a. Also started Christmas shopping on line.
Have a great weekend.

B.E., glad I’m not the only one who feels like the year is zooming by! And yeah, it was a good break for me to not have to drive to the doctor’s. Now for you:
1) Hope you were able to do the bigger shopping and avoid the store for the next 10 days.
2) I know you’ll think of a good gift for your mom and get it shipped!
3) LOL on hubs response! Pumpkin is great for dogs and cats, and for cheesecakes and bread Too funny he didn’t put it together with Thanksgiving.
4) I seriously wondered how people “train” cats! Glad it’s working for you.
5) Two years????? I was thinking one year. Sheesh!!! I tease Wizard the same way, so I get it!
Hope you have a great weekend!

Silver, I’m not as organized as I should be and I think that’s why I’m running all around, LOL. But I’m trying and that counts I’m thrilled with telemed in these types of circumstances. Basically just going test results is made for this kind of visit! Now for you:
1) I hate typos, and they always get though. I haven’t noticed any yet (I’m about 20% through the book and really enjoying it!). As for writing and editing — you’re doing as much as you can with the holidays bearing down on us.
2) I hope someone gets pics too!! I bet people love the skirt! I hate when work interferes with parents seeing their kids plays, but you going will mean so much to Stormy!
3) LOL on the onions. We had stew last night and Wizard happily thought I forgot the onions. Nope, I just diced then fine, saluted them with the meat and this let them essentially dissolve in the simmering. He things he doesn’t like onions, but he likes the flavor not the chunks. And I told him their were onions in there but he’s skeptical If you liked your stew, the lack of onions didn’t matter this time!
4) I’ve had those crackers and like them! Is LG now gluten free? I don’t think I’ve had real cheese balls so something I may need to try (in small amounts because of diary).
5) Hmmm are you sure Pete’s not bonding to you? It kind of sounds like he wants to make sure you come back in. Or he’s escorting you — who knows with cats, LOL!! Either way, it’s pretty cute!
So many possibilities!! And ways to procrastinate But goof-0ff weekends are good for mental health! Or you can be productive just don’t overdo it! Enjoy whatever you choose!

Viki, the baby is growing and thriving Walmart is my go to for some things, but it often strains my patience. To be fair, most shopping can strain my patience. The visit was great, we’re adjusting hormones and not worrying about my low sodium right now. Overall, nothing is concerning the doctor and I’m very happy with that.
1) That must be a relief on the pumps!
2) It’s good that they’re coming to see hubs. I hope it’s not too much work for you. I bet Harrison is growing so fast! Turbo sure is. He’s taller every time I see him!
3) Hope you love your hair!
4) The rain water should flow nicely through your freshly cleaned gutters.
5) It’s nice to get a start on Christmas shopping.
Hope you have some fun this weekend!
