Weekend Roundup

The weekend came and went while I cleaned and baked. I made chocolate cupcakes from scratch using a new recipe and froze them unfrosted. I made gluten free dairy free brownies (for Youngest of course) and froze those. And then I made white chocolate/macadamia nut/cranberry cookies. I ate one and whoa, those are some heavy duty cookies stuff FULL of mix-ins. Not sure how I feel about them, but I froze the rest and hope it all is fine for Thanksgiving day (with pies that I ordered).

I also cleaned which was pretty boring. I listen to podcasts and that helps.

And I had my tele-visit with my doctor and basically he had no concerns right now. My tests are all pretty good and he’s happy with how I’m doing. I’ll be monitored forever, but that’s okay. My next set of tests and visits are in March so I get a break! We’re also going to lower my thyroid replacement hormones as my blood work shows I’m currently overtreated. I’m hoping that will also tame my drive that has me going nonstop all day too. I’ve noticed it’s getting a little out of hand lately :-) So much so that I rarely can make myself just sit and read (and I’m reading Silver’s book!) That could be a lot of things, but lowering my dose might help. It’s also very possible that I’m feeling better and healthier than I have in two years and I’m just in a little overdrive due to that. Or I’m just crazy, which…totally possible!

Otherwise, the week was, as predicted, productively boring. I will say it’s not just me. Wizard has also done a ton of work on the back hill and it looks so amazing. Maybe we’re both relieved and a bit more motivated lately.

How was your weekend?

There was a weekend, wasn’t there… Wow! You BAKED! It all sounds yummy and now you’re ahead of the game for T-giving. Big yay on the test results! Hrmm. I wouldn’t mind a little extra oomph to get stuff done but yeah, not being ab;e to sit with feet up and relax? No bueno. Hope that gets regulated. And again, thanks for reading the book!

Me? I pretty much didn’t do jack. Or Tom, Dick or Harry, either. I did a lot of book listening (doing a marathon of Kristen Ashley’s Rock Chick series. It’s an acquired taste but they do make me laugh out loud for the ridiculas predicaments the heroines get themselves into and the snark is impeccable.) Oh. Laundry! I did five loaqds, got them hung, folded, and put up on Saturday. Which is why I didn’t try to get into the writing stuffs. At least, that’s my story.

Sunday, I woke up tired and stayed that way. I finally went to bed around 4 and snoozed off and on through the evening before eating a ramen soup cup at 9 p.m. and then crashing again about 11. LG is normally the one who does this so it’s no big deal around here. Getting old sucks.

Anyway, going to be a semi-busy week. Wallyworld trip at some point plus making roll dough and then rolls and a pumpkin pie for Thursday. The “party” is at Uncle Fix-It’s house so no cleaning or dealing with the after stuffs. Yay. Yes, I am lazy, why do you ask?

    Have a great week, all!

I’m glad you’re adjusting your meds. When my mom had her thyroid removed WAY BACK in the 70’s, they never adjusted anything. She got really skinny and after a few years a new doctor fixed things. She did have to have adjustments throughout her life.

You did a ton of stuff. The cookies sound good to me. Were they heavy?

I hope you can relax a bit before Thursday.

My weekend was normal. Except I decided to try out the big oven for the first time (Yes, I have never used it since Chris installed it about a year ago. The other one is big enough for two people.) and it stunk and smoke billowed out. I shut it off and eventually told Chris. He came over Saturday morning and it looks like it was just the factory grease and stuff cooking off. I ran it a few times and there is very little smell and no smoke. Needless to say, that prompted me to buy all the households Prepared Hero Extra Large Emergency Fire Blankets for Christmas.

I hope you have a great day!

Yay for baking! I’m so glad you’re feeling better. :hugs: Yay for Wizard and his amazing landscaping!

The weekend here was pretty much the same as always – reading, editing, watching TV. I did a little raking. Woohoo. My life is pretty boring.

Silver, I’m a bit over 200 pages into your book :-) I’m enjoying it! I get the wanting extra oomph, but everything comes at a cost, doesn’t it? Sigh. I wish we could just cherry pick the parts we want :-)

Five loads of laundry is an accomplishment! I did three today so I’m an authority, LOL. And reading or listening is important to writing, so that’s also productive.

Sunday was a bust for you — sounds like maybe you were fighting off a bug or something. Who knows, but if you’re feeling better today, that’s what matters. Yay for not having to clean the house! But the rolls will be amazing and I feel guilty for buying mine. Bet your pie will be amazing!

I really hope you’re feeling better after your tired Sunday!

Viki, that must have been awful for your mom. I adjusted pretty well to mine and the dose isn’t too far off. After a very rocky start of trying to find help, I fully admit I’ve been very lucky with the care I’m getting now. If anything, I’m celebrating a break from it all, LOL. I’m really sorry your mom went through that without help.

I think the cookies are heavy. But I think it’s a matter of taste, I think. Wizard likes them!

Oh boy, that had to be a stressful time when smoke billowed out! I’ve had appliance smell awful but never smoke so that’s new to me. Glad it appears ok though! And good thing you tested it before Thanksgiving!

It’s always good to be prepared for fire! That’s actually a really good Christmas gift, and shows you care.

Hope your week is off to a good start.

B.E., I bet you really appreciate the “boring” after your working days. Those were some long days for you. Plus you guys seem to have awesome nature right out back for you to enjoy (although raking leaves me not count as enjoyment).

Hope your week is on the right track!
