Weekend Roundup

A nice calm weekend, but dang, my knee is mad. So I’ve been upping my weight training, including squats with weights on my shoulders. But it doesn’t hurt when I do that. I carefully tested it to make sure and no pain. It’s walking, and even that usually starts off okay then begins to hurt. I’ve been trying to cut down on my walking and that was helping, but then yesterday I went looking for a wedding shower gift for my niece. Ugh…I walked probably two miles searching an indoor/outdoor mall type situation (and that’s after my mile and a half walk — cut down from 2 miles — in the morning). Now my knee is complaining. I don’t think it’s an injury, it feels more like a repetitive use/age/arthritis thing. Especially because I can calm it down, then I tick it off and it flares again.

In the good news, I got a gift I’m happy with for my niece. And the rest of the day, I’m gonna rest the knee. Maybe…cuz I’ve got things I’d like to get done pinging around in my head, but I’m trying to be smart. The weekend itself has been good. Thanksgiving is cleaned up. We haven’t decorated for Christmas yet, but we’re not having any events here, so we’ll do that when and how we wish for ourselves :-)

How was your weekend?

Ugh on the knee, as I literally feel you pain. LOL Yay on the gift, though! Especially since this was the big shopping weekend and you were brave enough to face the hordes. Theraworx and Aspercreme both have a joint “foam” to apply topically that works pretty well for me. Just massage it in and the pain eases shortly. You might also try applying it at the beginning of your walk and see if that helps.

Happy Monday. Hang in there but yeah, rest up this week before you take on the decorating. :-D

Oh man the knee! I’ve had issues for years and where a knee compression sleeve when I workout I also take Hyaluronic Acid pills. Years ago I read that the German women’s rowing team took it for their knees. I think it has helped.

C came over yesterday and set up the tree but I still have to decorate it. The household decorations are done.

Have a great day and rest the knee.

Silver, thanks for the sympathy and the suggestions! I have Voltaren Ointment that I use for my neck. But I’ll look for the others. The knee isn’t bad, but I’m skipping the workout today and only walked a half mile. I’m trying to be good — but I am doing stuff around the house because the lazy household staff never shows up :-)

Hope you’re continuing to feel better!

Viki, good suggestions, thanks! It has occurred to me that it might be related to the fact that I just started the lower dose of thyroid hormones. Sometimes any shift like that flares my RA — just a guess. It’s just making me annoyed as I want to stay on my routine :-)

Wow you’re getting things done! C is awesome as always!

I’m going to rest it more soon, thanks! Have a good evening!
