My weekend was generally good. But I was defeated by a security tag…
So Friday I went shopping at Macy’s because I had a gift card. I found six shirts on sale at great prices. One shirt, however, came home with a security tag. It was the one shirt that didn’t have a tag so I brought another one just like it to the register so she could ring it up. Somewhere in the process of making a duplicate tag, the clerk 1) never put the tag on the shirt and 2) forgot to remove the security tag. In here defense, we were chatting the whole time she was ringing me up as we like the same brand of clothes. Anyway…it’s a LONG way to the store so I tried a couple internet hacks to get the tag off. I think I could have eventually gotten it off without setting off the dye, but the efforts were beginning to fray micro holes into the fabric. Annoyed, I threw it away.
But the rest of my shirts are great Stuff happens and I’m over it. By the way, this security tag situation happens more often than people might think, and therefore I usually double check before I leave the store. The one time I didn’t…and here we are. So that part is my fault.
I should also mention that I ruin shirts on a regular basis — usually in the kitchen while cooking or baking. I mean this way of ruining a shirt is new, but the overall experience is sadly familiar, LOL.
Otherwise, my weekend was good. We just did typical stuff on a normal weekend, nothing too exciting. If anyone’s wondering, I love my new weight bench! Mostly because it’s safe and much more stable for me. I really don’t love risking injury! I mean I can hurt myself walking down a hallway, so the least I can do is not invite injury with makeshift weight benches!
How was your weekend?

I had a tag left on a shirt once. It was a white shirt too. I tried so hard to get that darn thing off and finally did with a craft hacksaw. The hole had a rind around it from the shavings but it was rather small and no one ever noticed. I’m sorry you had to toss your shirt ☹️.
Like you the kitchen used to be my place to go if I wanted to ruin clothes. Several years ago I decided to purchase and wear good chef coats. My clothes last much longer now 😄.
I’m so glad that you have a real bench and that Wizard made sure it was put together well. Safety is key.
My weekend was SOS. C did come over and flip the mattress for me and help me get the tree in the basement. I also put away our large lighted decorative deer. Hubs wanted them out but I clean so I put them away. Spunk wasn’t happy either. He considers them his.
We got quite a bit of snow that past few days but no ice. I’m keeping those in this latest storm in my prayers. Ice is awful. Not only is it terrible to drive in but it brings down powerlines and trees.
I hope you have a great day!

Bummer on the shirt. Yay on the bench though. Always better safe than sorry!
There was a weekend. It was first weekend. I did not go to siren test. We did not have lunch. The Kids had prior commitments and the weather was yucky. So I stayed home and worked. LG did his siren and went shopping for a new winter coat. His Carhart was on it’s last legs. He found one on sale so yay. I made some progress on the WIP so yay there too. I also got almost all of the Christmas stuff down and put away. The only thing left is the big bag of gift bags and tissue paper in my office. I’m still looking for the wrapping paper bin.
The windchill at the moment is 11, even though the sun is shining brightly. I’m too old for cold weather.
I did one “new” thing over the weekend. I used a package of cocoa mix and made my single cup of coffee, then topped off my travel mug with milk and heated in the microwave for 30 seconds. Mocha coffee FTW! To explain, my mug is 14 oz. but I only make 12 oz. of coffee so I can top off with the milk. Anyway, it tastes awesome when it’s so frigid outside. I’m all warm and cozy, wrapped in a blanket at my desk.
That’s it for me. Have a great week, all!

Viki, thanks. I’m glad you got the tag off yours!! At least I’ll remember to check next time.
It’s annoying to ruin clothes in the kitchen! I keep old shirts on hand to change into when I’m seriously cooking or baking, and I have aprons but don’t use then as often as I need to. You’re smart to have a chefs coat AND to actually put it on — I need to get that smart, LOL.
I agree, safety even with lighter weights, is so important. I finally convinced my cheap side of that
C is such a great son to help! I have mattresses now I don’t have to flip, but should turn more often. And yeah, you get the final call and I’d have put the deer away too. Hope Spunk forgives you!
I saw the reports on the cold and the storms in your area. Glad you’re not having to deal with ice (at least so far), Hope you’re staying warm and safe.

Silver, thanks on the shirt and the bench
Sounds like it was a weather and schedules got in the way of any family fun. But yay are getting work done on the WIP!!! That’s a great start to the new year! And good on LG getting a new winter coat. With the weather you guys are having, it’s critical to have a warm coat.
LOL where could the bin have gone??? It baffles me when I can’t find something.
Man, that’s just so danged cold!! I couldn’t handle it, that’s for sure!
Nice on the hot chocolate coffee!!! It sounds so good!! Stay warm!
