It’s been a mostly good weekend, aside from fire news and winds. But we won’t dwell on that too much.
Saturday was lovely for us! We spent a few hours with our granddaughter, while her parents and several other volunteers worked on inventorying merchandise for a charity organization. They had brought the trailer with the merch to Middle’s house as he has a huge driveway. The cause is childhood brain cancer, and these dedicated folks donate a lot of time and effort to support it. I admire them all for it. And just a quick brag: Middle Son is bone-crushingly busy with work, and he traveled out of state for a good part of this last week. And yet, he and daughter in law are still committed to this important cause. I know I’m flat out mom-bragging, but I’m proud of their priorities. Anyhow, back to Baby Girl, she was delightful! Full of smiles and fun. She’s a happy, easy going girl these days! Here’s a pic of her that her mom took when she turned four months old last week:
Sunday, Wizard went racing and I managed to wash all the floors. The winds have made everything so dirty, but I wouldn’t dare complain when others are dealing with a lot worse than a little dirt. Otherwise, I did my usual workouts, finally conceding that I need to give one of my hips a break. I have a bad habit of trying to go back to working it too soon and annoying it all over again. So in frustration with myself, I wrote down on my log book (where I track what exercise sets and reps) in big, blog capital letters to REST MY BAD HIP! The hope is I’ll listen to myself if I write it down, LOL! Also, this hip stuff is old news, and I know better than to push it as hard as I have been.
Overall, it felt like a good weekend for us. More winds are coming today, but they shouldn’t be anywhere near as bad as last week.
How was your weekend?

Thanks Marianne! She looks so much like her dad. But she appears to have long limbs like her mom so that’s a plus

You get to mom-brag all you want! And while you’re at it, give yourself and Wiz pats on the back for raising such awesome offspring and instilling in them the good sense to pick awesome women to fall in love with and marry. I’m toasting you with my coffee!
I’m back from the eye doctor and I claim no ability to proof read this. My eyes are still dilated but I wanted to do some stuff before I go take a nap.
The weekend went by fast. I did a little editing and I did laundry. Other than that, I wasn’t productive at all. I listened to Andre Norton’s WITCH WORLD, started WEB OF THE WITCH WORLD, and watched “On Patrol Live” on TV.
On that note, I need more coffee and then a nap. Sleep helps the eyes don’cha know. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it! Have a great week!

Oh my is she cute! I really like her knitted outfit too. She even looks like she’s a super happy baby.
Middle and DIL are great people. What they are doing for children with Brain cancer is really a wonderful thing.
You raised your boys right. They each have lovely wives and all a generous people.
I hear you on the rest the injury thing. But like you, I mostly ignore my warning. Like today, I really hurt both shoulders with my weights. They’ve been bothering me but when I couldn’t lift my 13# weights to do squats with them, I forced it. Bad move. The left is still on fire with numb fingers and the right has a large bruise on it from where the weight landed. I’m guessing tomorrows upper body workout will not happen.
Were you better behaved than me and actually left your hip alone to heal? I hope so.
It was a tough weekend.
Stay safe and I hope you are having a good day.

Silver, thank you!! I really don’t feel we can take much credit — they are the ones who choose who to be each day now. But I am proud
Ugh I hate having my eyes dilated and I’m impressed you did anything online before taking a nap. But hopefully the news is good on your eyes.
I also hope you’re healing up quickly from your fall.
It’s good to have chill weekends! Especially with the weather in your neck of the woods.
Hope you had a great nap and lots of coffee!

Viki, thanks, she really is a happy sweet girl at this stage. Four months is a good age.
It’s a great cause and thank you. It was an inspiration to me to see how the four couples worked so hard getting the inventory sorted and catalogued for their next big event.
I’m so sorry about your shoulders! I know how easy it is ti push and lose control of the weights. That must have really hurt! I hope it’s feels a lot better by tomorrow. For myself — I can usually tell by the next day how bad it is. Hopefully we’ll both get better at listening to our bodies.
It does sound like a tough weekend! Take tomorrow off. It’ll help a lot!
Today is a rest day on the weights for me, so I took two walks for a total of three miles So I did okay but not great at the resting thing, LOL. But in my defense, Maggie was restless so I took her on a second walk.
Hope your week gets better!
